The 2nd movement is unbelievably beautiful.
Such a fun piece to play! As an intermediate violinist this is a blast to play and really great for practicing technique. Perlman shows how incredible a virtuoso can make this piece sound.
Great to hear! If you are an intermediate violinist, I suggest you take 6-8 months to tackle Kreisler’s Preludium and Allegro. One you’ve have mastered that. I’d next go with Pag’s La Campenalla, followed by a few of his Caprices. At that point you can label yourself a pro Violinist and take on the VERY LONG journey of the Tchaik Violin Concerto. THAT is the most rewarding thing that’s every happened to me. When I mastered Tchaik’s Violin Concerto.

At 3:00 his violin is going so quickly it almost sounds like he's plucking. Anyone have any tips for achieving this effect without letting the bow bounce everywhere?
It sounds like ricochet to me. This technique requires you to do spiccato while still maintaining a downwards (or upwards) bow stroke each time.

In the 3rd mouvement, at 08:35 we hear E sharp but the score on the screen shows E natural. I have encountered several versions wih either an E sharp or an E natural. Does anyone know what the original is? Thanks!
