I definitely think a Swift is a great choice for a first car. When I first passed my test I was torn between a Swift or a Mitsubishi Colt, in the end I got the Colt (my love of Evos made the decision) and 14 years later it's still going strong as my daily with 2 other cars on the go now as well and it's taught me a lot. So if the Swift is anything like it then it shouldn't let you down.
Crazy that they're so pricey over there though, you should import one from the UK they're really cheap here and all manuals, we have very few automatic cars.

There is obviously a big difference between Australian and Japanese dealers. In Australia you would have had salesmen swooping on you as soon as you entered the dealership. You were there a while and no salesmen seen.
The zc32s swift sport manual is a good choice. The 6 speed manual is great for city and highway driving.

the swift would be gold for may. my girl has also a swift but base model since 6 years now and she still loves it. the best part it handles effortless you dont have to think alot about driving while driving. makes it easy for you. also it has a good amount of space either for 4 people and a little bit in the trunk or fold the rear seats and you have a big trunk. and its small from the outside so its super practical. the only thing is the base model is really really slow but gives great mpg😅
I think she made an amazing choice by going slowly up in how big or hard to drive a manual is. She has gained some good knowledge over the years working on cars with you
I love how may picked it that the yellow swift tried to look like a manual she is learning fast and the blue Suprs with the gold Volk GTC's was sweet.
21:36 i start learning how to drive cars in a 2005 gmc envoy xl in lebanon (smaller than Japan) and now i am comfortable driving any car it's easier to start with a bigger car and then start driving a small one
Did something similar in spain... started with a big saloon car. An '04 skoda superb
First car I drove after I got my license was a 2017 voxy 😂 really light and easy to drive and glad I drove that before I got my Suzuki Spacia/spacer

10/10 get a Swift. My 07 has a Greddy turbo kit on it. Motors done 300k and it’s holding strong with 190hp VS the 77hp stock. Most reliable car I’ve owned + safest 🤷🏻♂️

The car @ 5:01 is a Honda fit RS. It’s a 1.5cc semi hybrid. Decent amount of fuel consumption and more comfortable than the swift sport. But the swift sport is just 🤌🤌

I sincerely hope these cars keep dropping in value, that way the hobby won't become unobtainable for future generations, and the current generations to be honest. When clapped out 20-year-old civics with 200,000 miles here in the US are selling for 5-10k, you know something is wrong. I'd love to see things normalize over the next year or two, down from the ballooned artificially inflated prices they were.

Maybe not in daily driver as it's still a rotary with all its problems, but she definetly expressed how she'd like a collection, and if she's interested in rotarys that could be kinda fun and cheap to build one for her ! hey, fellow swift sport zc33s owner here, old ones tend to have less aftermarket parts and they look worse imo, the newer ones have an entire line of hks and greddy mods (such as an entirely new drop in turbo swap kit and all that) and other goodies that make it a really good track car/daily driver. I really like the handling of the new ones because they are REALLY lightweight (less than 1000kg) and they just feel like a kart overall, I would say that it is like a fwd miata
A lot of aftermarket parts in Japan and Europe though, I’m in Aus and I currently have a zc31s and can only get good parts from Japan or Europe for it. But yes agree with you!

I have DMF on my '14 Honda CR-V and it sucks. The replacement part costs 2000 Euro and you can't find any AEM, which would have cost 1/3 of that anywhere anymore.

I just got myself a 2020 nissan versa sv. ive been obsessed with watching these kinds of videos. I originally wanted a toyota but this is what i just ended up leaving with, i dropped the gun too fast and jumped on it without seeing what else cars i had to choose from, lol so debating if i should just pay it off or trade it in a few months for a toyota. i'm grateful though, god is good.
Swift sports that shape zc32 are absolutely awesome to drive, revvy na four cylinder and good handling.
