Does anyone else get about 8mins in and have to restart because you decide you need to try working the mystery along with watching it? 😂
Yes, every darn time.
I show up with thread and a needle ready to go. Lol
@@bonnieballew7762 I know I should too, but so often I think I can just watch without something in my hands
Yes! 😂
I love to think about all the women in the past who worked these lovely designs, shared them with their friends, etc. We are so connected with our heritage when we work these vintage arts.
Agree!!!!!
That is BEAUTIFUL, it could be a headband!!!! Lots of work, but those would make gorgeous headbands.
This would be a lovely band around a hat. ❤
You nailed it Babes !!! And after working into all those hundreds of tiny chain stitches and single crochets, you have earned the right to NOT make tassles.
Nailed it! Yea! I hope you got some good sleep. You earned it!!! Pretty, too!!!🙂
You could change the length and make it a headband! Add a ribbon between the holes for like a cute detail (and one less row in the square motif). I really enjoyed this one!
That’s a great idea! My granddaughter would love it in pink and purple unicorn 🦄❤️🩹
@@cheriastrahan8453 so cute! You could add some sparkle by adding some gold thread
I think it's perfect lovely without the fringe. In fact, I think the fringe might spoil it. A fringe woukd hang crooked if you tied a curtain back at an angle.
Spoiler alert 😢
Corinna, you are so much fun to watch. I love it when you try to guess your project. Love watching you. 😊
Love it. Nice work. So pretty. I like it without the fringe.
Looks like super vintage granny square. Id have to do at least light yarn n for sure a bigger hook. Garter bit was hilarious!! Maybe you could do vintage garter belt designs for your etsy shop. Designs means products. You are so good with bitty crochet.
Finally, someone else that uses the back bump of the starting chain! It makes for a nicer finished edge or easier edge to add a border. I always start in the back bump unless a pattern specifically states otherwise.
That's how my grandmother taught me to start a pattern so many decades ago.
It's either back bump or the starting chain for me!.... The one where you basically chain and do row 1 at the same time? There's probably a better name.... Regardless, it makes for such even tension when working flat, but definitely does not always apply to a pattern.
@@firegodessreikois it called foundation chain? I’ve never been able to figure it out but I’m sure I’ve read that term before
@@ColorwaveCraftsCo What helped me master foundation chain was to know what each part was doing, like that first chain made before doing a stitch as normal is actually forming the anchor point for the next stitch, where the hook will be going. Then I keep it from curling by allowing that chain portion to be as loose as it wants to be (as putting the next stitch in it will tighten it right up).
Hi, C.! I'm glad I caught this now because hopefully you're still on to read these. I'm waiting on one more thing (due tomorrow) before I can send your birthday present package. So even if you can't get it on the actual birthday date (whenever that is!) at least know you are getting it during your birthday month! Thank you for being you! Hugs 🤗
Om so sorry I was off for so many days, I have been down and out from something I ate, got a video going up today that will explain all LOL , Thanks so much hugs
That was an interesting one. No, don't bother with the fringe, you've done more than enough work on this project. Well done! As others have already said, a headband or hairband would be nice, for a little girl I'd say pink and white would be lovely.
You did nail it! Its so pretty! And thank you Justin for picking out so many interesting patterns!!
The way I cackled when you showed the picture!!😂😂😂 This was a journey that I enjoyed very much!!
I think the square piece was at the end of the piece and a button sewed behind it to hook through the other end so you could wrap it around the curtain easier. Other than that it looks very good, I like it with or without fringe. I only say about the square piece as I have seen them before.
Such a pretty pattern. Many possible applications. I like the idea of a headband. Or perhaps made longer to be a hair tie. 🦋
Making that for sure, so many useful things to make. Thank you for all you do.❤
You could definitely use it as a garter, just add some elastic and a wee button.
I love the way the flower pattern was worked. 💮 This was a very interesting pattern. I really enjoyed it.
Love it, I was undecided until the reveal. The motif shot down most of my guesses. Hope you had a refreshing sleep.
Mind blowing! So fine. You're so patient. Thank you for bringing this heritage to life and back into our consciousness.
Definitely nailed it, wouldn't have thought it was a curtain tie back.👏👏🎉
Nailed it! I love vintage crochet home decor stuff.
When you read the tassel part, I just immediately imagine what a nice pattern for the end of a table runner or for a courtain holder.
I’m a day late and a dollar short but I finally got to watch this! I’m so impressed, it’s a curtain tie back! Excellent job Corrina. ❤
This is so pretty !! You nailed it !! I always have faith you will !! So many useful uses for this !! Thank You for another great video 📸 !! ❤ It !!
I didn't even think of making one of these with crochet! 😲 I'm so glad I caught this video now! Perfect timing!😂
Justin is such a good sport! Is he interested in crocheting at all?
I'm not a big fan of fringe anyway so it suits me just fine, thank you for your time and artistry 👍
I agree. Fringe collects dust and attracts random cats. 🐈
About 6 min. In I called it as a curtain tie back. I watched my grandmother make these for her curtains as I was a child of 5 or 6. I was hoping for a guarder strap, but no go. Leave off the fringe. ❤ you nailed the pattern.
So very nice and elegant. At times, I have to take a break so that I can start out fresh again. Great job!
I love to see those finished mystery vintage projects.
You nailed it girl 👍🏾❤️❤️❤️
You nailed it girrrrlll!
And your definition of the pattern is so much better! Maybe I'm even gonna make one ! As a garter!
Also a journal Belly Band or to wrap around a journal. I can think of so many uses!!! TFS!!

I really like that. I think the fringe sets it off. I like your color selection. When I was a child, I remember we use to have drapes outlining the doorways going from the living room into the bedroom. I don't know why they did that. I think I have some pictures of it.
Never would have guessed curtain tie...you nailed it though❤ great for trim on a cuff etc ❤️❤️❤️🇦🇺
I bet if you adjust the length and sew some elastic on the inside it would totally work as a garter.
I love the colors you picked too.
Oh no we got spoiled right in the beginning...no mystery. But I like what I saw...looked great...watsh anyways😉
1. I had to google "garters strap"...even its not, great idear...it should be...
2. It is very beautiful
3. dang...another project.
You did great!
Still a mystery since we don't know what it is yet 😊
Sorry to say, I also don’t like this new format with the clips at the beginning, it ruins some of the surprise 😞
You have the most adorable giggle!😊
That's a beautiful piece for anything! Thanks for sharing, Hon❣
You nailed it. You can find many purposes for it too.
You nail it!!! I am changing the length, and I am using a thicker thread and use it as a belt...lol...
This is really lovely! It would work great as a trim for any number of projects
Really like this. It could be anything you like.
Well I love it but not on my drapes. A leg maybe😂. Great job. You nailed it. 😊
You definitely nailed it, you did a beautiful job as ever, thank you xx❤
What a great mystery this was. You did indeed nail it 😊
This would make for a very pretty headband (minus any fringe of course)!! Love this one too! You are so very gifted in all things crochet. Awesome job again ❣️❣️❣️ (BTW I did another Hobby Lobby run this week and my HL has some of the edgings you bought on clearance! I got that pretty gold lacy one that was originally $12.99 for $2.99!!!! I'm not sure if all HL are clearancing out their ribbon stock, but it might be worth a looksy. 😉) 🥰
I love the garter strap idea better! 😂 Thanks for the house cleaning distraction! 🙏😇❤️
That would probably work better with size 20 or 30 thread and a size 10 to 13 hook. You'll have finer stitches that will look more delicate.
Wow!
Luv luv luv u. I just got done binge watching your videos. It took me about 6 weeks. But they were a fun 6 weeks 😁
Super cute.
I thought it was edging for a curtain or chair. You can comb the tassels out if you put them on and they are too stiff. One can even do the twisted fringe I'd think. Cool pattern! ❤🙂
Like it with out the fringe. 😮 awesome job ❤
Awesome job!!! I love your thought process. 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for all you do.
✌🏻✌🏻🫶
This was a great pattern and you nailed it. Will definitely have to keep this one in mind if I ever purchase curtains.
Hmmm... I suddenly have a desperate need for new curtain tethers! Also new curtains, but "funner" crafty things first! 😆 As far as the fringe thing is concerned, I hate dealing with fringe. It totally gets messed up in the washing machine and even more so in the dryer! Now, if one were to add a row of beads to the bottom row...
So pretty
Great work, very pretty, I'll be making a few of these 😊
Garter strip! 😄
Have you done any vintage patterns that ask for Mercerized Crochet, Size 10 DOUBLED? I would love to watch if so. I think that would be complicated to see where to crochet stitches. (Looking at a few 1930s patterns that call for this)
Yey a curtain garter lmao 😂 you did really well on this one .
Your colors are excellent choices.
I really like this one! It could easily be updated using different colors and even different yarns. Very nice!
I love it! I can totally see this on some sheer curtains in the kitchen window!
Color it nailed, because that's exactly what you did. You go, Gurl! I'm sure you can redesign this for a pair of garters, but I think the fringe would not only be overkill (who would see it?), it would get in the way of the connecting straps. I didn't join you on this one; I'm still fairly new to the steel hook game, and a 19" chain would have taken me the better part of a week to complete the first row. As it turns out, I have no curtains, so I wouldn't need a set of these. But you did your usual great job. Keep 'em coming, we'll keep watching!
You did it. Beautiful work.
You nailed it 🎉well done
WOW, you got it!
Looks fantastic you got it spot on.
I loved this. A curtain garter! That works! 😁 It is a very pretty stitch.
You nailed it!❤
That’s adorable ! ♥️
Looks great .
Great job, this is really cool even for today.
I think you nailed it!!
I love it. X
Love it
Yep, you nailed it!
That is so pretty.❤
I don't like the fringe, but I love the rest of it.
Great 👍 job
This is Awsome!!!!
Thats pretty
Nice tie back
Very beautiful
No need for fringe
Pretty!
Did a good job
While watching i cant help but think the dogs footsteps sound like a typewriter.... Same thought everytime. Doesnt bother me but it what i though it was until you said in one of the videos it was the dog.😊
Love to listen and looking to you , or is it at you. Dont know. I m Duch. Love you funny girl .❤
Yes that is a cluster. Still used today. That terminology has not changed
So cute, I need tie backs. ?? Is Susan Bates interchangeable with Milward hooks? Same size? I have several patterns that call for Milwards' hooks. ❤ this mystery, I had no clue!. Thanks.
Yes you nail the pattern but not guessing what it was 🤣😂👏😀
Oopsie. Did you forget the second row of sc to finish off the motif? If not, then maybe a third row, 'cause it looks a little narrow to me.
Very interesting project, as always.
That strap and fringe could be expanded to be a curtain
An embrasse it’s luxurious your right job
I’m just imagining what it must have been like to do this in the 1930s, gas light/candle, tiny hook and black yarn. Gives me a headache just thinking about it
9 out of 10 homes had electricity
The year was in the bottom left, then when you went to tall to your son and came back, it was blacked out. I'm not sure why.
The footer on the page says Summer 1982. So not 1930s. I guess it might have looked like 1935 instead of 1982. :)
Im not sure what happened. But yeah, clearly printed bottom left, then blacked out.
I do love watching these mystery videos. I don't want to see the finished thing at the beginning though. I want to watch you do it mystery wise, and we all try to figure out what it means and what it is as we go along. I enjoy those more. Mysteries are so fun.
It was blacked out because I was trying to avoid this confusion, the pattern is from the 1930s, but the crochet magazine it came from was from 1980s , one of those " Old Time Crochet" magazines... Im surprised you didn't notice around the 40:44 min mark when I showed the picture and it was printed on the picture from the magazine " A 1935 Pattern"
I always ch 2 for corners, even if the pattern says to ch 1. Easier to see and makes no difference in size. ❤
