- I think eyeliner was one of the first things that most of us bought in our makeup bag . But it is probably the last thing that we can master. Even after years applying eyeliner, it still sometimes took me 10 to 15 minutes to apply perfectly. Through a lot of trial and error, today I'm gonna show you how I learnt to perfect winged eyeliner on my downturned hooded eyes.

Your eyes are just like mine-double eyelids and limited lid space! I've made all the mistakes that you talked about in the beginning of the video :) Your advice is 100% legit!! One advantage is that our hooded eyelids are already very defined, so we can get away with just tight-lining if we don't want a flick (or even no eyeliner imo). Great tips Kelly! I'm looking for a waterproof liner for tight-lining (I don't want to support Maybelline bc it's not cruelty-free). Any further suggestions for oily eyelids + watery eyes? :)
You can try out the Urban Decay 24/7 glide on eye pencil or Nyx eye pencil but I don’t know if they’re cruelty free or not. I couldn’t agree more with you about just tightlining, that’s what I did all the time before I figured out how to make the winged eyeliner look good on me, lol. @@queenredspecial Idk. Try looking for tutorials about making your makeup symmetrical. There are probably some principles you could apply

Thank you for the tutorial :D. I have monolids and epicanthic folds, but I don't know how to do flattering eye makeup on monolids so I use lid tape to create "double eyelids", then I have hooded eyes instead LOL. I used to apply thick eyeliner as you demonstrated at the beginning, which ended up taking all the space and when I open my eyes the eyeshadow is barely seen. So far I find thin eyeliner with light-colored eyeshadow close to lash line the most flattering for my eye shape.

@@KellyNg9 thankyou so much! i always had a hard time cleaning eye make up, i often rub it too hard its irritated. 🥲
For eye makeup, if you use waterproof mascara or do tightlining, it’s really hard to remove with just micellar water. I recommend oil based makeup remover instead 😉
I will try this. If this works, ill come back to comment. I swear that winged eyelines don't work for my eyes. But we have similar eyes so im getting my hopes up again lol

How do you remove the eyeliner from under your lashes?
I use the cleansing balm to massage my eyes for about 30s to 1min to remove it, you can also use cleansing oil. Micellar water sometimes can not remove as good and sting the eyes if you have sensitive eyes.

I used to have very hooded eyes. Fortunately I had an upper bleph done. I am still a little swollen and I will not use eyeliner. It only makes my eyes smaller so is a big no for me.

my dumbass didn't know what kind of eyes I had since i'm very new at makeup and I got this kiko eyeliner which has a super thick line DNALDAL that's why it never works for me.. but as soon as I get a new one, I'm trying this look!
Yes, the size of the eyeliner’s tip matters!
I wish this would work for me, but my hood closes off at the end, so I don't even have that mobile lid space to do anything with. Will have to stick with puppy eyeliner style
So sorry to hear that but in your case the best bet is to go with the puppy eyeliner. Have you tried the bat wing liner? That one can go over the hood and turn out really great for some people :)

What is hooded eyes
Hooded eyes refer to excess skin that folds down from below the brow bone, when you look straight to the mirror you can not see a lot of your lid's space just like my eyes in the video :)
