Great stories behind the history. Love the pig stone too. Such a peaceful feeling to the church grounds amazing how those grave stones have survived so long, always makes me think they have survived for a reason maybe more interesting stories waiting to be told :) x
Enjoyed the video, I live in Newton le Willows which is just down the road from that church, I knew about about the facts you spoke of as I'm interested in history too,and i was glad you visited. Don't know if you knew but just at the front of the church walls before the path and road there is a patch of grass and there is an old travelers rest stone. Also behind the church a few fields back you can visit the battle field of the battle of red bank. Newton has an old mound known as castle hill. Also you can visit St Oswald's church in Ashton in makerfield they have St Oswald's hand in a jar a relic. Keep the videos coming! I love local history x

There's so much history to tell, also another link is lord Legh... I think is buried at st Oswald's church at Winwick he built Lyme park at Stockport, and his crest the rams head is also the crest for newton le willows you see it everywhere in Newton le willows, too much to type but thats interesting to read about too x
