- This video is for those who are looking to make a strong first impression when they are presenting on stage. Learning how to apply these three things will help you become more remarkable!
TIMESTAMPS:
0:00 - Intro
0:18 - What to do before you go on stage
1:45 - Storytelling
5:54 - Use a prop
8:18 - Humorous energy
1. Storytelling
- I was speaking to a military group in the US and felt incredibly nervous. I was worried they wouldn't feel a connection with me but I was wrong. After I shared this story with the audience, I could feel the energy shift! Storytelling is an incredible way to connect with your audience, this is a powerful skill to master.
2. Use a prop
- YOU NEED TO SEE THIS EXAMPLE. Not my example, but Bill Gates example. It's one of my favourite examples of someone using a prop!
3. Humorous energy
- This is not about becoming a stand up comedian (do you know how hard that is?!), this is about learning how to become more humorous. I'll explain in the video!
I will go into depth on the 3 areas above in the video, let me know if you have any questions on communication skills or presentation skills! I'd love to hear from you in the comments!

For all who see this comment, I've just finished Vinh's stage academy and it is one of the BEST courses I've ever done. He provides so much value that is actionable and easy to understand right away. You can actually tell that he really cares about the person doing the course as he goes through it. I cannot recommend it enough. Thank you Vinh!
Ohhhh James, this means so much to me mate ❤
I really wanna buy its very expensive, i can’t afford it.
I think Vinh’s course is amazing too. However, I find that Vinh exposes quite a lot of content from the course to the public (CZcams) as well. 😕
i just started.. and i absolutely love it! i highly recommend everyone to join
I cannot wait to attend your workshops, Vinh! The entrance at 9:05 gave me goosebumps. Keep rocking!
Thanks Ving!!!!! Amazing!!!!
Bumped into this. Thanks to CZcams's algorithms. I'm preparing for a preaching session in a local church and it is only my second time doing it. I've learnt so much in this short video that I'm going to put into practice storytelling at the beginning and bringing a prop with me.
Next level! Vinh! Nice change and thanks for your hard work. I can apply this in normal day to day life as well .❤️🔥✨🙏🏻
Love it! Great content. Looking forward to book the program

Vinh is amazing at what he does and if I had enough money I would buy the course right away! I absolutely can relate to his stories about his parents escaping Vietnam because my parents went through something very similar there as well and let’s not forget how good his vietnamese is wow!
Very entertaining, learned a lot. 😊

Don't do Asian Dad Squat 😂
Top tip from Vinh & Bill:
Jokingly give audience malaria! ✅️✅️
This is brilliant!
Do these principles translate for virtual presentations as well?
Hey Vinh, could you please upload more vocal exercise videos? Thank you!
Yo Vinh, curious what it would take to get some of your time 1-on-1?
Something I've struggled with is becoming complacent after I reach a particular point. Don't get me wrong, being satisfied is great! But when it hinders you from progressing further, it's something which is of concern ://
So I wanted to ask, has there ever been a time when you were complacent? Or perhaps students you've come across who were complacent? If yea, how did you or they overcome it, if they did? If no, what do you think stopped them from doing so?
You'd do me a great favor by helping me out with this.
Thank you for reading!!
Have a great day! :D
I’ve had and still do have this issue at times. I know I’m not Vinh, but I do have some tips that help me. Assuming you mean complacency in terms of growing in your communication skills and growing in confidence that stunt progression?
After you identify it, it’s usually fixable by finding a new challenge in that area and raising the bar for yourself. Vinh has mentioned something in the past called ‘contextual confidence’. This is when you can be super confident in certain circumstances. For instance a musician can perform on stage and look extremely confident, but off stage and without their instrument, look very shy.
Similar thing socially. If you’re getting confident and comfortable at meeting someone 1 on 1 to the point you find yourself being complacent, try putting yourself in a scenario where you’re meeting groups of people or even try and find a way to talk on a stage. Do something that makes you feel nervous again.
Setting new goals and challenges each time you feel too comfortable is a great way to combat complacency. Hope this helped 👍
Could you please make video on inter personal communication?😊
Hey Giang, I really love your tips.. I need some of your help. I have a stammering voice and my speech therapist recommended me to talk slowly and with breaks (as a example he told me to watch the Kings Speech movie) but I can't seem to change the behaviour of my speech.. can you help me any way?
Hill bro! Actually when I'm trying to communicate with public on stage my words has gone, I just forgot everything of my presentation and start shaking
Yes. Yes. Yes.
Love you and your content. Great to see that you get more views 😊
What to do with the hands Vinh?
That last effect you wanted it to freeze and have the ice shatter, didnt you ? lol
Hello, I have a debate coming up .How can I mix up all of your skills in four minutes
heyy! i hope you respond to this, yesterday i gave a presentation on our team's project,i need to mention that we came from a tier 2 college and the jury were the prof from prestigious colleges in india. Starting from the moment we enter the stage, they pretend not to liston us this might be due to our shabby appearance compared to thier expectations. Me seeing all this i lost my confidence and kept worring about this had done a horrible presentation. I would love to get insights from you regarding "how to get attention from those and how not to think about these things in mind and to overcome these on the spot" and kindly explain about the art of sentence forming also.
watching this before a bible lesson I have to give, thank you!
Given that every speech you give is so well-rehearsed, I assume everything is intentional. When you were speaking, I noticed that several times you used repeated words back to back like a nervous speaker usually would like we-we-we, i-i-i, it-it, etc which isn't usually the case. Was this intentional and if so was it in order to try to build a connection and rapport given such a different audience? Or for a different purpose?
Is that a members only jacket? asking for a friend
What is props?
An item like the box, or some other object to "use" in some way to bring your communication to life
How do I protect my vocal cords in a long presentation? Water is useful, do you have any other tips? Thanks a lot!
Somebody went a little click happy with the sound effect buttons
I think he's allowed to be happy
Love Vinh! I bet he smells pine fresh with that hanging around his neck.
How can a hopeless become a decent storyteller?
I found the book Talk Like Ted really helpful for story telling in presentations
Hey vinh i really hope you see this.
i suggest you improve the background if your studio room.
take this as constructive criticism
tips
1 remove unnecessary stuff like wires and tripods
2 make an aesthetically pleasing backdrop
#Unscripted
Hi VInh, learning from you is an absolute fun, not to mention edutainment. And I just need one missing piece in the puzzle, which is action taking, that, I somehow know what too do, and I avoid doing it, I procrastinate a lot.... How can one be an massive action taker, be it a big or small thing in your life that can make a difference to you and people around you. @askvinh
