    You can do both just not on the same day. They give you a separate Amazon flex account to use. You get full time hours but you are flexible to work or not work when you want with DSP. 10 hour blocks but in same area. The best part is you can finish route way earlier than scheduled especially with only residential houses. The only issue with finishing early you might have to do rescues to help others that didn’t complete on time.

    I did DSP driving out of St Pete in 2017. It was about $150 for 9-10 hours of work. 150-250ish packages per day. It was brutal. I was always getting sent to help people when I finished early however when I was running behind, I never seemed to get help. I’ll take flex any day of the week.

      The good drivers that finished early or on time never get help if we happen to fall behind.

      Its even worse now. Its 250-300 packages and about 210 stops countong grouped stops. These dsps and amazon are absolutely railing us for our stupidity to continue to do this job.

    Glad your doing flex again! I watched your videos before I started. Thought about doing dsp, but "the general", what I call the monitoring system, is why I won't do it and my knees wouldn't be able to handle a long day like that.

  • @gregwythe
    @gregwythe Před rokem +5

    I drive for a DSP and still do Flex. Enjoy the flexibility of having a W2 and 1099. For me, that's sweet. I do DSP for three days (occasionally called in for a 4th). Flex is great for extra money and grinding to pay for big expenses like auto repair.
    Once you get accustomed to the physicality of 8-12 hr days for DSP it feels easier. At the end of the day, its a lot of 2oz envelopes. Not hard. The volume is what gets you.
    If you have the option to do cargo vans, the routes are typically smaller. Sweeping is fun. We still get some DSP flex routes, which are less fun. If you get a familiar, set route the familiarity helps a ton. That's where you start to speed up.

      I think you can in different areas but not in all areas because my flex supervisor said I wouldn’t be able to do flex if I accepted a DSP job maybe it was because I was going to be a supervisor idk.

    I am looking to do both. I currently work for a DSP. Yes, physically demanding, but paid by the hour. It is tough, but I like the 4 day work week. I decided to do F-M so, I also get an additional $1/hr for my weekend hours. I get overtime on most of my routes. I could make better time in my own vehicle because of better headlights, easier navigation, and no cameras. I am now on a waiting list for my area.

  • @MrBibbs84
    @MrBibbs84 Před rokem +3

    Very seldomly you get asked to do a rescue route in my dsp but it’s good cause u never know when u need to be rescued yourself. I chose dsp cause of the wear and tear on your personal vehicle. You get to drive the vans instead and even though you are being monitored, it’s for safety reasons why Amazon dose that. DSP pays way more then flex cause everything is measured by blocks on flex. $85 for 3 1/2 hours to 4 hours. That’s crazy. Depending on who u work for I can pretty much double that or even triple that cost in my area of Texas. I can’t speak for any other state, but Amazon does have a high turnover rate due to the young ones that work. They tend to stay there long enough to make a lot of money. Then they leave to go to college or go to other places to do better things. at the end of the day for me personally, I love the job because all you do is just basically deliver packages all day just like flex

    My Facility numbers every stop by number for you. Sometimes a package not on your route gets in your block, so you gotta pay attention and return it before you leave. Sometimes you just scan two bar codes on the bins and load your vehicle!
    Also you just pull up in your vehicle and they walk to your vehicle, scan your ID and bring your packages. No going into the facility and waiting.

    • @GigMom
      @GigMom  Před rokem

      Yes the regular warehouses that offer later blocks do in the yellow stickers… unfortunately the sub same days don’t

    My route with the DSP I’m working I have no less the 250 usually it’s in the 250 to 300 packages my most being 385 packages… supposed to be able about to take and hr worth of breaks but doing so will put you behind if you have 140+ stops tbh it’s chaotic

  • @pahcsva
    @pahcsva Před rokem +1

    Once you get hired by DSP you can no longer do flex and you don’t make as much as flex. I was going to switch and be a supervisor and my flex supervisor said it’s not worth it. She told me to stay on flex.

  • @sherika6041
    @sherika6041 Před rokem +2

    I've worked with a dsp and I would do it again just with a different company. My dsp sucked. If you got done early you still get paid for the full time. The app is called the mentor app that scores you on everything, and they recently started putting the cameras in the van. I think you can do amazon flex as an amazon dsp driver. Sorry for being all over the place, but if you do a rescue, you get $1 for each package you deliver. At least the company I worked for paid you for each one.

    Don't know how anyone does Amazon Flex having to drive all the way to the warehouse load up your car make all of those stops which is complete wear and tear on your car like never before you burn up gas just looks like way too much for $80 then you have to take taxes out it's time for you to get a W-2 job there are so many companies hiring I'm sure you can find one to fit your schedule and then you can do gig work like it's meant to be as a supplemental income

    A W-2 job, whether for Amazon or another company, would make for a steady paycheck for you and hopefully benefits, but didn't you just try this a few months ago? You seem to have a lot going on at home, which seems to interrupt your work schedule a lot. A W-2 job for anybody is going to require that you be able to work the shifts that you're scheduled. If your home life keeps interrupting that it's not going to work. I want you to have a good steady paycheck, but I'm not sure a W-2 is going to work for you at this point in your life with everything else that you seem to have going on. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that something steady works out for you soon.

I took a certificate program online and will be leaving the laundry washing app to go work a high-paying W2 hopefully😢🫣🤭I know the dental work is in my cards too so I understand completely that working W2 will help me with dental insurance care. Bad teeth from having babies and taking diuretic for heart causes teeth breakage just eating a raspberry or grape😮
