For me, deeper than Trifonov, full of colours, Horowitzian touch, Unfortunately, Bozhanov seems disappeared from the world of concerts....

This is pure magic! It sounds like Evgeni is improvising this music, adapting the sound for the piano and the hall, even for the audience, reacting on the spur of the moment. That's how I imagine Chopin himself would have played on a modern piano for today's audiences. Such a fresh approach! I'm tired of hearing other pianists who play a pre-cooked Chopin in a way that is considered a definitive "norm" and doesn't allow any personal freedom, they all play a "perfect" and extremely dry Chopin. Evgeni is simply the best Chopin piano player to me.

I had that same thought. “Modern listeners might complain about Chopin himself playing his works.” I find this aurally engaging. Creative approach to counterpoint/voicing, musical line (!!!), and articulation. Ultimately artistic.

Absolut brilliant! ❤

I thought Horowitz was the last of the Old Russian inner voice easter egg hunt tradition. Looks like somebody here carries the torch ❤

Mid part of the Scherzo is really fantastically voiced and meaningfully spoken. Great pedalling, clear message especially in the slow movement. Congrats for this contribution!

This is indeed nothing short of magical. In a generation where sincerity and originality in music performance are almost discouraged, Bozhanov is both a breath of fresh air and a vision of hope for the future.

Evgeni, thank you so much for sharing such beautiful playing. I don't visit Europe very often, so your recordings and CZcams are my only opportunities. It would be so wonderful to hear you in NY.

Same. It doesn't change or differentiate enough. It all kind of sounds the same, monotonous. Does not hold my interest. (only listened to the Nocturne...)
