WHOOHOO I am finally sharing notes I made from my Harvard Admissions File! There was sooo much info on this, but I hope it helps any high schoolers applying to Harvard and similar schools. It is so important to understand what the college admissions landscape looks like, ESPECIALLY these days. As I noted a few times in the video, please take all of this information with a grain of salt. Given the recent Supreme Court ruling on affirmative action, college admissions is definitely looking a bit different these days. Nonetheless, I tried my best to show you guys what helped me personally because there are still soooo many factors that go into the admissions process! GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU APPLYING!

you keep saying u got lucky w ur interviewers, but its so unlikely to have 2 interviewers vouch for u in such a beautiful and powerful way without being deserving of all their praises. youre amazing, and that's why you got such great comments from your interviewers!
Aww thanks so much!! It was 2 admissions officers and 1 interviewer🥰. All were super amazing!!
I’ve been watching your videos since you first got into Harvard and I just want to say Congratulations!! You have worked so hard and are clearly a self-motivated determined person coming from someone who just graduated college
Aw thank you so much!! You are too kind🫶🏼
Wow, thank you for sharing. You're an exceptional student, and Harvard is lucky to have you. Your extracurriculars are also normal and realistic because so many create nonprofits and companies. This is unrealistic as many students can't afford this. It's clear you're passionate, and it's easy to see why Harvard accepted you. Please continue vlogging.
Thank you!!! That means a lot to me! I will definitely continue vlogging❤
Thank you sharing the video with me! Really appreciate it. Congratulations on graduating from college for next year! You did a great job with your studies in high school and college. Including with your experiences and extracurriculars! That is very impressive. My name is Andres by the way. It is pleasure to meet you. Good luck with everything you do! God bless you and your family. 🙏❤️
Love your workethic. You plan your videos in such a way that if someone takes your videos seriously and applies the ideas you suggested, it could benefit them to a exceptional extent, provided that you know basically the main points partially from experience and your solid knowledge. Love watching your videos. I low-key already feel like studying right now, 😂 I might as well begin
I appreciate that! Thank you so much!!
hey queen! i remember watching your videos for inspiration and am excited to say i’ll be joining you in the fall!!
Schools should show this video in grade schools to all students, it’s a great motivator and starts kids thinking about more than just passing classes and getting by like I was.
Super interesting Helen, its still crazy to me u did this all in 3 years! like u gotta tell us, what does your usual study system look like for classes ??
Thank you! I always set up my schedule in Google Calendar to organize everything in my day. I usually write important notes in classes and review them afterwards, especially during exam season :)
hey helen, thank for sharing this video. love your content! as a student, I'd love to see a more in depth video on how you manage your time and crush all your classes. Any tips or tricks you used to stay on top of everything would be really cool :)
Thank you for these ideas! I will keep this in mind for my studying content in the fall :)
I love your videos and Harvard has just been my dream school for a VERY long time. I wish one day I could be like u
Thanks so much!! Best of luck to you❤️
Thank you so much, Helen! It was super helpful. Could you give me some tips on how you spend your summers at Harvard? Like any summers abroad?
Thank you! I’ve discussed my summers in previous vids…it’s been an internship every summer for me! Last 2 were on the research side, but my current one is business development.
Amazing HP! I like to hear how Harvard does the application! great job!!! Cant wait to see the your SENIOR Harvard vlog!!
Love the way you make your videos helen, so helpful!!
So glad you like them!!
@@HelenPiltner omg Helen replied to my comment eeeee 🎉 thank youu
Same as urs. I wanted to go to Harvard but for a transfer. I can compare with u. I'm coming to Harvard next year as u go to Harvard this yr. U and I will settle in Harvard, as it will be the same for us. But life is NOT EASY. Needs assistance from God. Ur my sweetie and an angel 😇❤💕, thanks for assistance.
Congratulations on all your accomplishments!
Thank you so much!❤️
Your videos are really useful, thanks!!
Hey, Helen! Love your videos. I’m considering BME, and I’m wondering why you decided to switch majors? Thanks!
im going to apply these methods to my application towards Hharvard
Hey Manny you might wanna check on your spelling first😅
I knew the admissions officers would pick up on your advanced coursework at a local college and your research projects. It should be noted that they also made a point to comment on your demographic data. Recommendations matter!
Yes, they matter a LOT!
Thank you so much for the video! I have been thinking about graduating early, but people warn me that it would hurt my chances of getting into Harvard, MIT or Stanford since I will only have two full years of transcripts (G9 & 10). Could you kindly advise me on this since you have gone through the process. For background information, I am dual citizen of China and US, and I have been attending an international school in Asia. I just finished G9 and I took 4 APs (Calculus AB, Computer Science Principles, Physics 1 and Chemistry and got all 5s on the AP exams). In addition to 4APs, I also took A Level Math (should be getting A*), Honors English, Honors Chinese, Honors Biology, Honors World History and Independent AI Research with a university professor. I got straigh A+ on all 10 subjects. For G10, I will take 7 APs (including Calculus BC, Physics C, Biology, Computer Science A, English Language, US History), 3 dual enrollment classes, and Independent AI Research at a local university (hoping to publish a paper as the first author with the professor). As you can see, I will run out of courses to take at my high school at G11. I plan to take Linear Algebra, Multivariable Calculus, Quantum Mechanics and AI Research at a local university as well as some easier and less relevant (to my intened major) APs such as Chinese, Statistics, Environmental Science, Macro/Micro Economics, US Gov, etc. I will have 18 APs, 8 college courses and A Level Math at the end of G11. I intend to major in Math or Physics, and I have qualified for USAMO (AIME 12) and USAPhO (f=ma 15) this February as a 9th grader. Should I graduate and apply early? I will also apply to Oxford for its CS+Math program. Thank you in advance for your kind assistance!
Thank you it was so helpful
You’re welcome! I'm so glad!
@@HelenPiltner omg no way you replied. You literally living my dreams, girl you are my inspiration 🥰🥰
Good Job!! Well Done!!😛
Q: What are your goals after college? Beside CZcams
How to admission in Harvard University. Given Me strategy for go to Harvard University
Asking in general, do you think pretty privilege or perception of wealth plays in interviews?
I have so many issues with the American admissions system...if a 16 year old achieved so much by that age (research, music, advanced courses, extra curricular) where was the time to play, be a child, a teenager? When these young over achievers look back I wonder if they will regret missing out on their childhood.
I definitely missed out on a lot, and I wished that could have been a bit different. However, I am thankful to be in such a great place now, and I know my hard work really paid off☺
@@HelenPiltner I guess being European (living in the US) it really does not make sense to me, what explains this rush to be done with school credit and being overworked in so many activities? These kids are trading their youth to subscribe to a system that rewards work over talent an curiosity. Students get into college burned out and most of them just want to graduate and go to finance or some other high paying job, instead of pursuing knowledge (contrasting with their teenage years in which they are all involved in research!). This system is breaking kids and it needs to be reformed, for instance universities should not accept more than 3 APs and also should not value more than one ec etc. There is a lot to unpack, but changes are needed.
@@andrycrisiana sadly, a lot of admits don’t have normal childhoods because they have pressure to succeed and get into a top university. I agree that it is not right. Kids feel obligated to accomplish all this “stuff” in order to get accepted.
Im from savannah too!
Hello 🙃how were you able to graduate early at 16? Did you take college classes online? Or through a program? And I assume theres a difference between taking so much advanced classes that you graduate early at the same level as a senior, rather than graduating early and "dropping out" of high school without taking those advanced classes that can hurt your college app? (Like getting a ged) thank u and i love ur vids!!!
Thank you!! I accelerated by overloading on extra classes (either APs or dual enrollment). I explained this in previous videos, and you can check out an in-depth breakdown of my stats and ECs here: czcams.com/video/_2awv8jdNfE/video.html
My 10 yr old daughter has been talking about going to Princeton or Harvard since she was 9. Her cousin went to Princeton and is now in her final year of residency training so she wants to follow her footsteps. 😀 She is pretty bright and skipped 4th grade. She is already thinking of ideas for a high school passion project. Hopefully the pressure she puts on herself won't get to her.
Helen loved you video
Would like to you share discord link which help in academics related query
What is your younger sister doing ?
The real quesiton is how tf did you take that many college classes in high school? Like the max at my school is 3 and they all suck
At first there wasn’t a credit limit for my dual enrollment program, but then they implemented one so I don’t think you can take as many now🤯😭
You said you’ve changed your major. What is your current major? I haven’t been able to watch all your videos to see. Sorry 😊
Neuroscience!🧠
Were both interviewers male?
what major are you now & what future career? :0
Neuroscience and possibly consulting!
@@HelenPiltner woah! super interesting combo
@@HelenPiltnerwhat kind? Mgmt consulting? Like mckinsey...bain?
great and helpful video but why do you talk like that?
Listen up Helen Piltner, I have no clue, no clue, whatsoever, why but... I believe you are a spitting image, physically (in terms of appeal, beauty, and looks) just like: Anna Nicole Smith.
