One of the best gear breakdowns I've seen, deserves more views! How do you find using the short stem with drop bars handling-wise (both loaded and unloaded)? I find it interesting how it's (mostly) marketed as a drop bar bike but has more of a mtb length top tube which would force most to use a very short stem. I guess it could be partially to stop toe overlap with the huge tires but still quite unique.

Glad you enjoyed it! I've really come to dig the set up, the bike is super capable on chunky and technical stuff, loaded and unloaded. It's also very stable and tracks straight when you're riding on smoother surfaces. It's designed to use a short stem, I'm running a 65mm with the 550mm bars.

Cool, I’m about to get a Curve, the Kevin of steel. Wondering which Co2 cartridge pump you use? Cheers

Cool! Do you generally stay wearing the same base layer gear for a multi day ride? Where do you keep your phone? What headphones do you use? How about deodorant? (didn’t notice it’s storage spot mentioned)

Hey! Responding from my personal account. I typically wear the same kit when I'm racing, I just make sure to clean it (and myself) regularly as best I can. I use samsung galaxy buds for shorter races / rides (~1000 km or less) but just the generic apple earbuds otherwise. I keep my phone in my jersey pocket or the pocket of my cargo bibs. Also you'll never catch me packing deodorant for a race, I'm trying to go fast, not smell good hahaha. Cheers!

Nice set up. Love the bike. Do you ever switch tires for something slim like 700 x 50-52mm.

No, the smallest tire you would want to run on this bike is probably about a 2.3".

Your SOL Escape Bivy. How breathable do you find it. I used a different model at an ultra event and I was not prepared for how sweaty I got .

It's much more breathable than the other offerings from SOL. I only use it for short naps, but I have not found condensation to be a problem whatsoever.

The awkward outro made me laugh.
