I think there is something for everyone with the latest release from sniping to close smg engagement. I'm more often annoyed with close quarter combat and lack of footstep audio versus long range which is satisfying and competitive at the moment.
Yeah they've done a decent job this year with balancing different play styles. Now if they could just get their audio under control😢

@@acesonflush346 war zone verdansk 84. After Black ops cold war came out. The audio was great during that update. It had plenty of other bugs but at least you could hear footsteps lol
Spot on, I struggle with close quarter fights so having an actual viable sniper in the game gives me an actual reason to play/enjoy the game. 😅

I love having One Shot Snipers, I hate that it is limited to just one sniper at the moment. They need to make the Victus AMR (it's literally in the name) an alternative and make the .338 or .300 caliber snipers One Shot at a limited range similar to the Caldera-era Kar98k. Perhaps make them One Shot capable at longer ranges as well using Explosive Ammo so you can have faster ADS but more skill based longer range sniping.
i think modern warfare 2 snipers like fjx or the victus if you add explosive ammo the 1 tap on head.

It was in WARZONE 1 initially a mechanic for snipers……KAR98 is a marksman rifle one shot to head as well. SMH 🤦♂️ mk ultra runs deep everywhere break out of the mental chains please folks.

My MCPR high velocity build gets one shot head shots! I was trippin because it didn't work in the firing range but in plunder and what not it worked like a champion!

i think aim assist was also not as broken especially rotational mechanics just completely took everything away from PC players
I don't get why more snipers aren't 1 shot. I miss the kar98 from Warzone 1. I want a high risk high reward faster sniper where a headshot is 1 shot but body doesn't even break or something.

@@gkar9757 closer range than the big snipers, slower rate of fire and no break on body hit. This balanced out by faster ADS and a 1 shot down headshot. The Kar98 was never overpowered to the point it broke the game, it was actually (in my opinion) the most fun gun to use.

Have you tried the Heinrichter scope on your Katt? It’s a variable zoom, with a pretty wide low end for closer shots, and a little more power in the upper end if you need the longer range. Same ADS as the 5x you run
100% agree with you that we should see more 1 shot snipers. Sure limit ranges on higher mobility/lower ads ones, but sniping is a skill that deserves a place in the game and people should be rewarded for their headshots
It's not that much of a skill than ""luck""".
0.01degree deviation from a target which has an area of like 4-5pixeks on your screen and more than likely also some movement and you completely miss a shot but the algorithm decides it's a head shot
You're never going to get people to like snipers, whether they remove 1 shot snipers from the game or not because the only experiences people remember with snipers are the ones where they die and had little-to-no chance, they forget all the times they close the distance and have the the upper hand, or when they come up behind us, or when they win with suppressive fire
I’m in two minds on this.
Firstly a sniper should absolutely be rewarded for being able to line up a shot and working around Bullet Drop and Velocity to hit a head shot.
Conversely it’s frustrating to be killed or downed in a single shot with full plates. You go to all that effort to be prepared to the best of your ability only to have your game cut short because someone landed a sniper headshot.
I don’t play Warzone myself but I’d keep the one shot kill/down potential in duos, trios and quads but make it a full armour break in solos. But I realise that’s a whole lot of extra work for the devs to put in.
Would love to see more than just the Katt 1-shot. Hopefully we get some more added. XRK Stalker is chambered in .50cal as well so who knows

Westie when you saw that the guy had your guns after you killed him, I've noticed that if you are using your own loadout whenever you kill someone they will drop the guns that you are using.

The correct way to balance snipers is to have a non-linear bullet-velocity. Have the bullet velocity decrease over time. The "aggressive" snipers should have their bullet velocity tank outside of 100 meters.
The Katt is incredibly cumbersome too, no matter how you build it, it's just big and slow which helps to balance it. I'm sure most MW2 snipers still one shot with explosive ammo but they just aren't viable at long range without a lot of playtime to understand the velocity and the drop to be able to actually challenge the more difficult shots.
Hopefully they tweak things to add a little more variety to the high velocity one shot headshot contenders
As a m&k player, definitely agree with you westie. Long range ftw! I know one shot and your dead but the movement makes it so much easier to avoid getting hit. If someone hits a good shot its gg 👍

I love that it has to be a head shot for the one shot. Sniping has always been the way that my squad and I have played cod brs. Going all the way back to blackout, I never stopped sniping even in the new mw2.

I think adding some limited-range one-shot headshot snipers would be good. Have the SP-X and LAB from MW2 have 50/60m one-shot headshot range, but outside that damage is reduced.
@@Westiethat would make most assualt rifles useless. In the first warzone the PC players were just menacing. The first warzone made that painfully obvious with the amount of PC players that just ran snipers. They they could easily out maneuver aim assist and get the cheeky quick scope as that was the most common clip in warzone 1. The Katt is probably the most used weapon in warzone.

The fact they 1 spotted at a range of 50m was what's annoying on the kar and swiss. Being quick scoped and not being able to get a res off cause of the range being closed down is what made it so aggrevating. And cheaters took loads of advantage of it

I've always preferred semi-auto snipers. Nothing beats a full team of semi-auto snipers.
To me, when people complain about one shot sniper rifles in warzone it comes down to this: Get good.
We’ve had them for years, people just don’t apply the map knowledge to be cautious in certain areas, don’t check for obvious spots, don’t have the proper reaction to getting shot by a sniper rifle, and are just way too reckless with standing in the open.
Besides, it literally leaves behind a trail, you’ll know not even just the direction, but the exact location you got shot from within seconds if you’re actually paying attention.
Not to mention the high alert perk which you couldn’t even equip in the Verdansk era.
I’ll say this though, Urzikstan doesn’t have a nearly as much concealment as Verdansk, and to be honest Al Mazra felt like a more thought out map.
In my book MW Verdansk still is the best map, Al Mazra was different, but worked pretty good with how snipers were balanced, Caldera was just trash. Urzikstan feels like a cheap Verdansk knockoff from some mobile game. Great for close quarters, but not made with longrange gameplay in mind if you ask me.

Imo the KATT is just fine as it is, but I do think the Victus should also be guaranteed one shots alongside the KATT with all other SRs one shotting up to certain distances.

Westie the DMZ content was the best. I have this idea. During COVID off line tv did a rust server with some big steamers. The content was the amazing and hilarious. It would be awesome if you, stodeh, phixate, Jack frags, timmy2cans, Jack dubs everyone from dmz got a custom rust server for 2 weeks and do a friendly fun competition that would amazing. Im sure you could get sponsors. Plus maybe you draw from random subs (application needed) from and invite them to play with you to add a random element to the server? What do you think? I would watch!!

Totally agree on the one-shot sniper. High risk, high reward. Landing that huge headshot is so much fun and really isn't that what the game is all about? All of the big/unwieldy snipers should have one-shot potential, I don't know why they limit it to a single gun.

As long as the one shot snipers are relatively slow to ads and stf they’re fine and on that note if they do add more rifles that are able to it won’t change how many snipers are on the map

I miss the balancing from warzone caldera. Woth the limited ranges for faster snipers. Unlimited range for the big slow snipers.
Tbh its a tough one. I like 1 shot snipers, BUT in terms of balance its more about the bullet velocity than hitting a headshot. As boastful as it sounds I think hitting a headshot on the Katt is easy because of how good the bullet velocity is. I think the way they balanced it in WZ2 was in the right direction, but the bullet drop was too much. If a sniper is to be 1 shot there SHOULD be a skill part to it, having it be essentially hitscan does make it overpowered, sorry.

I think all snipers that aren't semi auto should be a one shot to the head two shot anywhere else.
Tbh im more of a mid range player and i dont mind the one shots (as a r6 player im kinda used to randomly getting my face removed from my body if i position badly) cos if im in a good position and/or moving right they arent landing their shot. Tho i do get why some people are annoyed by it cos it does kinda suck randomly getting third partied by a one shot weapon, like sure its on them for their lack of game sense but u cant really deny that it does feel shit when one slight mistake leads to being one tapped

Sometimes you are standing still because you are hiding or engaged in a fight and don’t want them to hear you, I think that’s where it’s annoying when you get third partied, that being said I love the one shot sniping and love the new warzone feels like home again.

I myself am a sniper. I think one shot headshots feel bad to be hit by. I think its important for the health of the game to take into account how it feels on the receiving end of particular weapons.
WZ2 had very great balance for both AR and Sniper, because the damage and recoil of automatic weapons allowed counterplay for those being sniped at and those doing the sniping. One shot killing removes all counterplay, and I dont think that is healthy.
Currently, as you pointed out, sniping balance is astronomically bad because only 1 aniper is viable. I look forward to future balancing.

I love having one shot snipers. It brings so much fun to the game and snipers would absolutely be useless without the potential of a one shot headshot. I do wish we had more variety options for one shot sniping. I think they should remove the requirement of explosive rounds to one shot headshot. If the Katt can than the other should too. The FJX Imperium, Victus XMR, Stalker and MCPR should have the ability to one shot headshot with no explosive round requirement.
I'm good with one shot snipers, as long as it's just the bolt action snipers. Semiautomatic would be too much.
Yes, snipers have to deal with precision and re-chambering. I think one of the issues I have with sniping though is that it often occurs at ranges where a non-sniper has almost zero chance of competing. And I think that’s fairly unique. At close range, an AR player could get a kill off an smg user. But I think it’s too hard to compete with a sniper at range given they can down you instantly. But with 2 shot snipers, ARs and LMGs can at least compete (albeit at a disadvantage) with snipers at range.
Kind of true, but where you can't compete in the gunfight you can deal with it by disengaging. In a close smg vs ar fight you are at a disatvantage and don't have the option to disengage a lot of the times. You have to do or die
Obviously if you are in a open field you can't easily disengage but that's a tactical mistake you made if you got caught in the open field with snipers around (or maybe the gas rng hates you)

The KATT AMR shouldn't be the only Sniper that one shots, it should be all 50 Cal Snipers. And for all the others it should be at a certain range.
i would say its in a good spot right now, the fact that none of the super crazy players who gets 30 kills per game use it makes it clear that they are not op
In WZ1 (Verdansk) my friend and I sniped a lot. Hitting and downing a target at 200m was just another day in office, and some of memorable moments were when he killed a guy form 650+m and when I killed a guy form 550+m. Sniping even in WZ takes a lot of practice for a player to be able to hit head at that ranges. It is a really small target. We were disappointed when they removed one-shot snipers from Al Mazra.
For people complaining about one-shot snipers, if I miss my shot you know exactly where I am because of optic glint. You can start running (it is much harder to hit moving target). You also have plenty of time to move to cover or drop smoke and re-plate. And you know my position and can call air strike or mortar on me and dislodge me form position. So, imo one-shot snipers are not overpowered and other player have options to outplay sniper. And there should be a reward for spending your time to learn how to snipe and it is much harder then running with akimbo pistols or smgs and pushing every red dot on map.
Should all snipers be one-shot? No. But please, leave us who want to play with one-shot sniper to enjoy the game in a way we like.

Yeah. Big fan of sniping being back. Allows alternative play styles which is great for variation. Can mix it up between sniping one game to and AR the next. Think it’s balanced ok with the slower/heavier guns being one shot. Don’t think it should go back to Kar98 days

I liked playing sniper in the old WZ 1.0 days with the kar98 etc... It was really satisfying and actually im not really a sniper guy, but it was a good bit of fun in early rounds... in WZ 2.0 I didnt play any sniper, because it just wasnt worth it... I appreaciated it first, that there were no one shot snipers anymore but it completely killed the prupose of those weapons in my opinion.
I think its really ok for them to be a one shot head shot, you gotta hit that, which can be very difficult at times... you also can easily counter snipers because tehres plenty of cover on Urzikstan.
@3:02 your first shot of the match and a perfect example of how 1 shot snipers are NOT OVERPOWERED. Someone drops out of the sky, you scope in, you miss, and they get away before you can re-chamber for your next shot. Yet with a long range AR or LMG you could beam them out of the sky, or at least do enough damage that they’ll be too busy searching for plates to notice while you close the distance.
I hardly played Almazra because of no 1 shot snipers. I played Caldera to the death.
Me: Still only use MW2 MCPR with explosive rounds and is pretty good. 😉

i have to definetley agree with u about the one shot sniper because not only do the snipers have to hit someones head but also they have added more gulag tokens and redeploy tokens into the game as they have increased the rate of them compared in previous games and in warzone 1 we had plenty one shot snipers so i agree.
I miss having a choice of good snipers that has that one shot capabiltie that includes marksmen rifles the later is just not used infact i dont see anyone using the marsman rifles i miss the kar

I like one shot snipers. They are more powerful/frustrating in solos. If you get dropped in solo you just die instantly and it's frustrating. I understand that. Even if you have a self rez in solos the guy who downed you can take his time and finish you because no one is coming to help.
I play mostly duos and it feels much better there. If you get 1 shot you don't instantly die you get downed and the sniper has some pressure on him to finish you because he knows your team mate will either put fire on him or throw a smoke or something to save you.
1 shots are less of a frustrating death sentance in duos. I assume its the same for trios and quads.
Even my teammates who don’t snipe don’t complain about 1-shot snipers.

For the one shot potential, this should be opened up to all the other high caliber sniper rifles. So from .338 to 50 cal should have that chance, of course all from different ranges depending on the rifle and ammo used.

I've picked up sniping in mw3 and I don't think it's overpowered I do wish there was more one shot snipers in the game. I run a lot of plunder with my squad, and with out fail, I have to switch over to my sniper class. Because someone else is sniping and my team doesn't have anyone sniping or we have one sniper who isn't near by.

I have use these builds and even though I am not a good sniper I can’t get headshots for a one shot kill. A player was hitting me from 477 yards away and down me! So any pointers

You can use explosive rounds on MW2 snipers to get a one-shot headshot, but you lost around 700m/s bullet velocity which makes them terrible.

I dont use none of the new gun on this new cod,I been play warzone solos using the m13 and mcpr with explosive rounds, hit them anywhere in torso it drops them one shot account for bullet drop but it been working good for me
Snipers without one shot are still good. When you are being sniped, you don't have a lot of ways to counterplay, if you have a sniper, you can countersnipe, and if you don't have a sniper or a gun like the launch MTZ you realistically just cannot challenge the sniper. This means that for the most part, snipers are rather safe. It requires players to bring a sniper or far range gun for countering, making for less variety in guns used (but more variety in types of gunfights). On top of that, getting sniped is rarely fun gameplay, while you likely could've prevented that with movement, it feels frustrating to instantly be out of the game. It makes snipers a must play around mechanic, you have to be constantly on the move or looking to snipe or you are just at a disadvantage. None of this is to say it's necessarily a bad mechanic, I personally don't like it, but I can understand why people do, at the end of the day it's a difference of opinion, one shot snipers have their pros and cons as a mechanic. What I am trying to say is that one shot snipers are not necessarily an unfun mechanic due to a lack of skill required by the sniper, but due to the asymmetric and sometimes unfun gameplay
