    I agree with you that every women should be able to experience hair extensions at an affordable price. Especially when it has to be push up every month and a half and it can get costly. You have a good heart. Keep up the good work Jess.

    Wow your pricing is so great! I have always done mine myself and my dad does them bc stylists often charge 600, 700, into the 1000's, then when you have to pay to move them up all the time and it is so a scam where I live with pricing. I do mine all the time so I know what effort and the time it takes to install... this is an accurate representation of good pricing! Especially when a client already pays for a color and cut too, I'd actually go to a stylist for this price for once lol!

    I totally agree with not upselling for products we use as services. We don’t charge 20 for a tube of color that costs us 10 to buy because we make the money on the actual color service. So I totally think the same thing applies with extensions.

  • @Theloversconjure
    @Theloversconjure Před 4 lety +7

    Ugh. The salon in Tampa is charging me $1800 PLUS extra for color correction of my real hair. So $2000. I had to put down a $600 deposit. I feel like I’m getting ripped off badly now.

  • @DanteVelasquez
    @DanteVelasquez Před 5 lety +2

    In NYC we do charge for providing the hair. I give the client the option to bring hair or have me source it for them, and I charge a finders fee for that (not double the price of the hair but a percentage of the total cost). For stylists that stock there own hair regularly they will include it in the price. Since you have your own hair that you make and stock it makes sense that you would sell it at the regular prices you charge for each bag. The benefits of having your own. I'm looking into my own brand of hair now as well. I hope that you are charging the regular price of the hair plus the install though to be fair to yourself :-)

  • @ashleyaaron0510
    @ashleyaaron0510 Před 5 lety +1

    🙌🏼 I completely agree 100% this is exactly what I tell my clients. I feel like everyone should be able purchase their extensions and feel fabulous without having to spend an arm and a leg. They’ve already put the cost into the hair and as long and they maintenance the hair accordingly they will keep coming back to you to have it re installed! I feel as long as we do our part and educate the client on the hair they can get long term use from their hair extensions.

    awesome! Im in NY I also do NOT upcharge for the hair! however there are only 2-to 3 others in my area that do hand tied wefts and yes they DOUBLE the hair expense! I feel that is so unfair! as you said so many girls/ladies want extensions and some can barely afford them! we were taught u charge for the service! The hair itself has gone up so much! however you can buy for a whole head about $600 thats alot then your going to upcharge on that!?? I would not feel comfortable doing that.

    In my city (El Pasp, Texas) some stylists charge around $990 for tape-ins and $1,500 for I.B.E. People do pay, although I feel their pricing is a bit too much. Good hair extensions are pricey. Texas no longer requires any licensing or certification to install wigs, hair pieces, extensions, etc. Your pricing seems fair and will allow many to have the beauty and benefit of extensions. 😊

    Are clients expected to tip on the hair we buy through the technician. Im having 2 packs of Bellami tape-ins 1 16" and 1 18" so 20 sandwiches total for initial install including hair I was quoted $700. For move ups she charges $20/sandwich. So $400 each move up if I do 20 sandwiches plus tip.
    Do I ask on the first install for the price of just the install or do I tip on the full $700?
    I don't want to offend her by asking but what is expected?
