- OK, so I have never done an unboxing video before, but this purchase was long overdue and I think there are some important points to cover should you find yourself in the market.

I just bought mine 2 days ago Non-self propelled model and my first grass cutting went well. A lot more quiet than a traditional gas mower. For small to medium yards, an electric mower is perfect. I have a smaller yard than this and this works perfect for me.
Because it's electric, when you're done mowing you can easily flip it on its side or vertical to clean the deck and not have to worry about gas or oil running where it shouldn't.
Ego seems to be the most popular brand so I hope the electric motor is reliable for years to come. Other than sharpening the blade and keeping it clean, there is no other maintenance. I'm happy with my purchase.
I just bought one, but I got the self-propelled version of this. I've used it once and LOVE IT! Mows really well. Had a corded. Was suspicious of cordless, but I'm hoping for the best.
We bought the same model, we have cut our lawn three times with it so far works well.
nice video and review. I found it helpful for my purchase decision.
I have this same lawnmower and I love it.
great review! thank you
2:50 the dog is warning viewers that whenever getting your hands near the blade to remove the battery prior, no matter how careful you are.
This is a great overview. I have a smaller yard and definitely think push is the way to go. Less weight, better battery life and more maneuverable. I'm trying to decide between this model and the select cut push mower LM2135. It has the two blade system, 7 vs 6 torque rating and a slightly bigger battery. Not sure it is worth the price difference. Is the increased torque needed?? I've also seen on youtube many people convert their single blade ego to dual blade by buying a few parts including a slimmer fan so the height stays the same. One thing new buyers should be aware of, is that the batteries and chargers are very expensive if purchased separately without a tool.
Thanks.
Yeah, my wife and I fought over the push vs. power argument. In the end, the price won over. And she has not complained about this mower being hard to handle. For now, I am good with it running the single blade.
EGO has a great product line, and you are certainly correct about the batteries. Folks should be sure to buy the correct one on their initial purchase.
I plan on eventually replacing my ryobi weed whip with an electric. We will see of EGO has a product that suits my needs
@@AlexPlatacis I’ve had ego blower, hedge trimmer, chainsaw, extended reach trimmer with chainsaw attachment and recently string trimmer. They all work great. I wish I had bought more batteries as a package along the way because I only have 2 2.5 amps. But honestly that is enough. One charges while I’m using the other. I will probably need to buy a bigger battery for the LM2130 I ordered but I’m going to see how it goes first.
Thanks for uploading
Thanks for this good video
Great review! What kind of grass do you have? I live in Florida where the main grasses like St Augustine and Bahia are thick-bladed and tough on mowers. Wondering if this model has enough torque.
In Texas, most lawns are Bermuda grass. Ours is a combination of Bermuda and tall fescue. We have a lot of trees, and Bermuda needs 6 hrs of direct sunlight each day. The fescue does not have risomes like st Augustine, but it is thick. The mower has a mode when it starts bogging down, where it kicks into a higher blade speed or something. Very pleased with this mower.
Thanks for your feedback. It really helps. Not only me, but others looking for specific information.
Thanks for the quick response. I've always owned Toro gas push mowers. Never bought a self-propelled mower because it was just one more thing that could break. My last Toro made it 19 years. Went to Home Depot and Lowe's last weekend, and they barely had any gas push mowers on display. Your video is definitely encouraging. I try not to let my grass get away from me by cutting rwice a week in the summer. I think as long as I do that, this EGO mower could handle it.
Thanks! Didn't know that you can store it vertically, that's a plus. Picking one up today at Lowe's. I can get it with military discount for about $400. How long did it take to charge the battery initially? I guess I'll find out later.
very pleased with the battery charge time. only about 45 mins for full charge.
@@AlexPlatacis Alex, I purchased it today, charged it and mowed my lawn. I'm very pleased. It only took around 45 minutes to charge as you mentioned. My lawn was pretty thick as it's been raining here quite a bit and this mower plowed right through it without fail. It's time to cancel my landscaping contract and save some money. Next purchase will be a decent edger. Thanks again.
Now that you've had the mower for a season and gone through the pecan tree dropping season... how did the mower (and battery) perform when mulching leaves, pecans, and pecan husks?
funny you should ask...
I did a video on that very topic

Considering this mower. Which blade do you have on here? The standard blade it comes with?
Yeah. Standard blade right out of the box
How does your Ego mower do when the grass is wet or damp? They say you shouldn't use a battery-powered mower on wet grass, but in Florida, it rains so often in the summer that we can't always wait for our grass to dry out between mowing.
In Texas here, I am going to take a stab at answering your question. Frankly it raining is an excuse to get out of a chore. But sometimes you just gotta get the work done.
There are actually a few advantages with this mower in wet grass. First, it is lighter, so you won't be digging ruts with the wheels. Next, gas mowers have more vacuum so they mash wet grass into a goo. This mower just cuts the grass and does not make a mess. Lastly, wet grass is heavier. The ego mower has an automatic excellerator that applies more power when it detects it is getting bogged down. While this mode is still not as powerful as a Gas mower, and it uses up the battery charge faster, it works well.
Been happy with the product. Cannot speak to the water resistance. You might want to check their site for that info
Thank you
The self propelled and the push mower version costs exactly the same.
I wonder why that is?
The biggest expense is the battery. The push version uses less, so ultimately, the battery lasts longer on a charge.
It's the "Tool only" sales options that puzzle me. If you buy the battery separately, it is way more expensive.
@@AlexPlatacis Tool only option is interesting when you already own charger + battery from a previous tool.
Hi there I was wondering can u put the x blades on this Is the deck metal on the bottom
I have no idea.
The deck is not metal
Thanks I was wondering cause I was thinking on getting one looks like it has a lot of power
@jasonmartin9393 not sure I would say it has "a lot"
But, it is nicely engineered.
Being a push mower rather than self propelled, saves battery charge, and allows the user to better gauge the speed to fit conditions.
It also has a mode when it detects it is getting bogged down where it kicks into a high torque mode.
I like it. Decent product
アメリカの住宅は庭が広いから芝刈機が必要なんですね😅
こんな広い庭が羨ましいです。😊
everything is larger in Texas :)
I think value for the buck Model #LM2156SP is best because you get 10 amp battery and faster charger! plus mower model is the best/ most successful, even 2167 is worst than 2156
If you want a self propelled I agree with you. They are pricey tho. Try to find a sale if you can. I have a flat and small lawn, maybe 1/4 acre so I really don't want the added weight of self propelled.
How do you clean it?
Haven't yet...
Will look into it
Very helpful 👍🏽
Plastic comes from oil.
yep... once.
and metal requires a lot of energy to form into a lawnmower. so still a win
and in Texas most electricity is not from renewable sources.
but the smoke and pollution from that electricity is in someone else's back yard.
they do make a steel version too...

To old, present some up to date. Old history.
I am thinking of getting a sponsored giveaway together.
What types of products are you currently looking for?
Yep good bye OPEC hello people’s republic of China!!! 😂
Well, I am a Desert Storm veteran, so I may have a bit of bias.
EGO mowers is a brand that is part of American Yard Products company headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina. And has manufacturing facilities in Newnan Georgia.

Thank you for your service 🇺🇸
LMAO you can't hear a word he's saying over the noise of the lawn mower and the music. That alone speaks for the review 😂😅
Maybe you need to buy a new phone because I can hear him fine. 😂
I can hear everything. You need to get your ears checked
Can you put the green mulching blade set on this model ?
IDK.
Might do a follow up video
