I agree with your point that he shouldn't have used horse for the entry. They were literally in closed space, they not only made that horse suffer but also risked multiple people's lives present there at that moment because there were obvious chances of that horse's getting panicked due to all that chaos. Also, there is no wrong in using anant's weight as one of the points because it risks that horse's life. If there was any damage to be happened to that horse, it's owner would've discarded that horse easily and hence risking both owner's as well as horse's only way to get proper food.

In hindu culture only horse, bull and cow is allowed to pet. Because in villages bull is used for agriculture and cows are holy. And horse are the most loyal. In mythology it's the Savari of Indra dev. Like rat is of Ganesh. Rest animals are considered as important also. But in even mythology or even in rajput or Maratha no one had dog. There is something called chariot. Even if Anant would have sat on chariot instead of horse. So it can be said good. Because In chariot the weight is equal. But riding on a horse if your weight is more than 60 then it's not good. Even middle class family rents a chariot not horse if the groom is overweight. It's part of culture. They take care of horse because it's the only way of living for them.
