    My grandfather Paul Sauer, was the comptroller and worked for Paul Foley Sr. back in the 50's. His son, Skip Foley ran it for many years and me and my brother were able to meet him ( many times ) and tour and sit in the cabs ( many times ) of many a Caterpillar. Skip Foley's daughter now runs Foley Caterpillar and she's doing a great job of guiding the company into the future! Foley, and Caterpillar, a great combo!

    I’ve rebuilt a few of those trans. Out of 826’s and 834’s. They’re much like the 988B trans.

    I own a company that washes these compactors in landfills and boy do they get trash in some amazing places on them..

      It would be cool if you were able to show the work that goes in to washing them

    "certified rebuild power train" you'd think they'd get the right tense on their sticker.

      And that wasn't a crack on Foley Cat, looks like a top notch outfit.

      @Don Olypopper looks like at 3:20-3:22 there is a single frame with no oil pan, then it gets a newly painted one. I believe they must have done a bottom end, I think some footage is missing bc it never shows the pan coming off either.

    What does a rebuild like that cost?

  • @tltsw
    @tltsw Před 5 lety +2

    They didn’t pull the diffs down and honestly I didn’t see and engine overhaul. I seen them dump the engine but basically I seen a tear down and clean and paint.

      Glad I'm not the only one thinking that. Maybe a half rebuild

      Funny, I saw the engine being torn down, the diffs May have been done in another part of the shop

    Why not do a complete tear down instead of a half done. It was good and all

      Because it was just a powertrain rebuild
