PMS stands for Perempuan Merdeka Seutuhnya [ women who are completely independent ]
The lyrics contain a protest against discriminatory and judgmental attitudes which are often directed at women who have mindsets, perspectives, attitudes and desires or dreams that are different from the general norm in the mainstream.
VOB made their new song a celebration for women who have succeeded in breaking down this stereotype and represent the voices of women from various regions that are still heavily influenced by social norms wrapped in patriarchal values🖤
This single was written by Marsya (vocals and guitar), Widi (bass), and Sitti (drums) when the three of them were still in high school in 2017. “We wrote this song with the leftover energy from school. The thing is, at that time it happened that school activities were hectic. So after school, we gathered in the studio for a workshop on this song," Marsya said in a press release🖤
Who would have thought that 3 tiny women could be so powerful in carrying the weight they carry, one of the reasons why they are loved.

Yes. 3 of them can singing. All backing vocal by themselves. Just 3 of them. No extra person. So do their music. Just on their own sound via 3 musical instruments. 😊
In year 2020 , once they started to be more serious in the industry, VoB decided to take personal private lesson in many aspect.
Started year 2020, VoB decided to moved and stay in Capital City of Indonesia, - Jakarta City.
Once in Jakarta...
3 of them started taking Vocal Lesson with professional Vocal coach.
3 of them also taking English Language Class for English Communication.
3 of them hired saparate professional musician to learn from... Guitar private class. Bass private class and Drummer private class respectively.
3 of them also wrote their own lyrics base on their own story happened around them and from news and books they read.
3 of them, love reading books 📚 especially in Literature and Social Critic's.

Hello again Casey, keep 'em coming! As Purple Rain said in the comments below about PMS, this song celebrates women who are breaking stereotypes and boundaries in all forms. Coming from a region of Indonesia where social norms are mostly influenced by religion, VOB have endured a considerable amount of gender-based discrimination throughout their musical career. For many girls around them in the conservative community they grew up in, there are few career options for women after school, and for many, the only option is marriage after high school. PMS stands as a powerful anthem not only for the women of Indonesia, but worldwide, a solidarity call for all women who face the same problems but march on regardless, to keep doing what they love. And it has become a signature part of their live shows, that Marsya will address the crowd, including highlighting the women in the crowd, right before playing PMS.
Me my self always watch their performance at Rennes, French. May be this show is one of best their performance.

Back when the girls were in highschool (15&16 years old), they traveled to a fair a couple hours away and played an acoustic set on a tiny stage as people strolled by. Even though they are simple by what they can play now, they are a couple of my favorite covers.

Have to differ with you on this one Cheezy - I actually like all that distortion, because it is more of a switch-up from their normal sound to do the Metallica cover. And God Damn can those 3 tiny young women fill a large venue with ROCK!

what a great reaction. they're talented musician and they're have rebel soul of rock and roll because they're grow in a conservative small village in indonesia who still consider rock and metal is satanic music, but they're very brave to break that stigma even if they're only three young female who wear hijab.

I agree with you about the distortion on Enter Sandman, the highly distorted guitar and the aggressive bass combination gives it an extra heavy feeling. I liked the slap bass show, but I like the original guitar solo better. I think that the 2014 cover by The Warning is better sounding compared to this one.
