Not seen any of Bec Hill's work so went to Google videos, Found this absolute gem, czcams.com/video/RTH9MKiYvM0/video.html
Oh, she mentions it herself. oops.
It's well worth a watch.
I misread the title as Be Chill! ft Benny Hill. Barshens somehow being granted necromancy powers and decided to bring a 1940s comedian onto the show.
All those bone sacrifices to Slepp had to have been good for something.
Another great episode, and another great guest. I love Bec's voice. I could listen to her talk for hours. You should ask guests who are live performers, what their best, or weirdest heckle was. The great Bill Bailey said that his favourite when he was doing a show, was someone who shouted: "Stand still!", which made him wonder if a sniper was in the audience.
The more she spoke and animated, the more my heart warmed to her. I'll definitely be checking Bec's stuff out.
Cheers from Brissie, Bec
After watching a few episodes of Barshens, it's totally a tutorial on being in the entertainment business. Amazing.
That story of the snake was genuinely really heartwarming since I'm a huge fan of snakes.
I'd not heard of Bec Hill before but this was a really funny episode, will definitely check out her stuff in future.
She's been on Barshens before! watch every episode now! :D
@@TheBokkelul Oh really? I thought I'd seen every video, I guess I must have somehow missed a few... Guess I'll just have to go through and watch them all again wwwww
I would love it if they could have Fredrik Knudsen (the Down The Rabbit Hole guy) as a guest once. I know he lives in the US so obviously it's be difficult to setup, but I think he'd be a great fit for the show, have loads of great stories and on top of all that, I recently found out he's an Ashens' fan!
I'm glad you bought Bec back, the old Barshens videos with her are great!
I love this new format and how many interesting people I've been introduced to through it already
Thankyou we really appreciate it
Bec is lovely.
3 different brands of comedy going at the same time here, what a trip! Funniest one yet.
Man every podcast cast just seems to get better and better great job yet again guys ❤
You gotta love bec
A proper legend
Last time I saw Bec, she had a Tetris board drawn in the hair on the back of her head in Sharpies...
Lovely lass. I could listen to her talk for hours.
Some cats are fighting outside as I watch this, I am concerned.
The Barshens podcast format is absolutely lovely! Everyone involved deserves kudos for transforming the format into something more easily scheduled and probably easier on the pocket book. I've been looking forward to the podcast ever since Barry Lewis mentioned it on a video in 2017 (I believe?). The 12 episodes that have been released so far haven't disappointed
Thank you so much for the support
Holy cow, two of my favorite Twitter people (Barry and Bec) collaborating! All of my CZcams dreams are coming true.
any chance of uploading the cut content as a bonus video? i enjoyed the original upload before it got taken down :/
There was an original version of this?
@@danforbes3573 yeah. bout 10 minutes longer
I've been to the Fringe a number of times and would LOVE to see Barry's reaction to some of the strangeness that goes on up there
You see us the rest of the year, we calm when the cameras are around...
Love ya lads. Bec- you're brilliant.
My local grocery store only ever got a single box of most stuf oreos in so if the story was a secret marketing thing for the new variety they wasted their time.
When I first watched this interview and heard Bec mention the joke about Dopplegangers, I could've sworn I've heard another comedian tell that joke before and in an particularly awesome way. I finally realized the guy I was thinking of was none other than Mitch Hedgberg! I believe I heard him tell the joke during in his "Comedy Central Presents..." special.
He was a truly awesome one-of-a-kind comedian that IMO way ahead of his time, that unfortunately we lost way too soon. I highly recommend checking him out, like I said he was very unique comedian who's style and work that you can tell has definitely had a big influence on lot of other comedians and the stand-up scene as whole.
I missed Bec, she's so funny ❤
That was a great episode, Bec's great and hope for the best with her endeavours
You get the best guests
Bec Hill is great... particularly love her podcast with Matt Parker called A Problem Squared
As always, a funny and informative podcast guys. Bec is a joy to listen to, and I've always thought Dean Cain is a cool guy, her story about meeting him proves it :D
Ok, I've watched this again and it looks like the Dean Cain story has been cut, so that makes me look like a weirdo for mentioning it. It was a good story about how nice he is.
After your first paragraph I was thinking "Dean who?" and your second paragraph explained everything. Weird that it was cut though.
Yeah, when I saw the re-upload I'd wagered that was going to be it. No idea why, though. Nothing there that was contentious I wouldn't say. Ah well.
@@mightberichardAs far as I could see it was a funny story about her drunkenly mistaking a guy for Dean Cain, and then later meeting him and finding out he was a nice guy with two Picasso's.
@@jacksonpercy8044 Dean Cain was Clark Kent in the New Adventures of Superman show back in the 90's. I mostly know him from his recent appearance in Supergirl, it is a bit strange that part of the conversation disappeared.
Love the podcast, the interview, and now Bec's comedy! I do have to say though that Canberra is actually pretty awesome right now. Originally from another Australian city, and moved to Canberra for uni. Stuck around because it's a really beautiful and friendly place that's very easy to live in. Though it was definitely a lot worse 12 years ago!
For finicky pigs, only Oreos will do. That's why Charlotte broke out of her house! They'd run out of Oreos.
Love Bec Hill so funny
Great episode guys, Bec seems like a really fun person :)
+1 for Questicon and Spencer Jones, both are fantastic
So....what happened? I saw about half an hour before going out, come back and it's gone. And now its shorter.
I don't know, I watched all of the original and can't really think of anything that would need cutting. I suppose I should watch this and see what's changed but....eh. Edit: I skipped through and it seems they cut the whole Dean Cain story for some reason.
It was a story about how Bec drunkenly met Dean Cain and told him she was an award winner, then wrote a show to try and win an award because she lied, then a friend told her it wasn't Dean Cain she'd met, then she met the real Dean Cain at ComicCon and someone said she'd met him and he said...."Yeah I remember that" and winked at her. Then they had dinner with him where he told them how he'd left the spotlight to raise his son despite being offered lots of parts and how he got in to production, his company took off and he got minted and owns two Picasso paintings and then he covered their meal and when Bec tried to argue her friend said "I'd fight you on this but you just said you own a picasso" at which point he winked at them, raised two fingers and said "Two.." And that's about it.
Loved the podcast, recording sounded like there were a lot of phase issues though. Possibly consider gating your mics or cutting out whoever’s mic isn’t speaking in post. Should stop the negative interference. Maybe it’s just me, regardless great episode :)
What happened? This is six minutes shorter than the original. And a different clip at the beginning.
Internet wouldn’t let us have 6 minutes extra bandwidth
@@Barshens well that blows. This was a blooming marvellous podcast, Bec is fascinating. Was a really good job.
How come this was taken down a few hours ago & why is it only in 360p?
It’ll go up soon in quality CZcams takes a little bit to fully process
They cut the story about Dean Cain....for some reason
I see what you did there with the title. Cheeky.
(again) Bec!!
Ashens negative sideburns are mad weird.
The former upload was deleted?
Yep had to re-upload it, sorry for delay
They cut like 10 minutes
@@stefanozurich Yeah, wonder what was up with the other one? I listened to it and didn't notice anything.
From what I saw on twitter it was something Bec said about Superman? I'm really curious to know what it was.
@@FriendShapedKD She [Bec] spoke about Dean Cain quite a bit, I haven't re-listened to see exactly what is/isn't in there so it must be related to her Dean Cain anecdotes in some way.
The oreos and pigs thing might be a bit uniquely american? Here at town fairs they have pig races and the reward for the pigs to win the race are always oreos. Apparently pigs are big fans, not sure how they feel about store brand ripoffs though.
Didn't we get this already?
There was some stuff that needed to be re-edited and so it was taken down and then re uploaded. I pieced this together from Stuart's and the Barshens twitter feeds. Not sure exactly what needed to be changed since I couldn't watch the original one though
@@dravendevere I think the Dean Cain anecdote was cut
The British accent is far superior to an American accent. I love you guys
Wait who’s the person on the thumbnail ??
Oh, its Be Chill, I thought she said Beach ill .
Barrys never met Bec? Wasn't she on Barshens before ages ago?? Whaat
She was in the episodes when Barry was away I think
AHKR!
Get James Rolf
Glad you got Elon on the show! Never thought I'd see it
Never encountered Bec before but I will be seeking her out, she's brilliant. So funny and also very down to earth and very pretty too.
Is she married? /jk

Shame you had to reupload because someone got offended by Bec's story. Hope you at least keep the original on Patreon.
What was the story about?
@@lukekillings It was a story about how Bec drunkenly met Dean Cain and told him she was an award winner, then wrote a show to try and win an award because she lied, then a friend told her it wasn't Dean Cain she'd met, then she met the real Dean Cain at ComicCon and someone said she'd met him and he said...."Yeah I remember that" and winked at her. @@Belvie I don't see why anyone would get offended by that
Hot
Wilbur is the pig
Oof why is the audio so bad this week? its awful
It was fine for me, unless you were watching the original upload that people are mentioning.
@@lwaves The original was fine
still bad audio :/
Miss the ol barshens :( not liking this new format
Go back watch some old ones
@@lukekillings have done that a couple of times already
Sadly it just was not sustainable it was costing us to make those episodes several hundreds of pounds each month, not even breaking even. We are aiming to try to get it back to a mix of now & something like that slowly but it has to be financially viable.
@@Barshens No rush, I'd say a great majority of people seem to love the new format and the guests you're bringing on
Thankyou. I think it’s hard for some folks to forget that we said it’s either no barshens or let us rebuild slowly. Of course 3 years of one style will effect some people but even now being able to pay travel expenses etc is making it worthwhile. We only meet every 5 weeks or so, so change is not overnight. The main thing is we are enjoying it & love that we have been able to keep the channel going and go again.
I wanna bish the bosh out of Bec Hill
Got half way and had to drop out. This lady, good luck to her but isn't funny.
