The My Book Duo external drive offers an extraordinary capacity of 24 TB , so you can be sure that the free space will not disappear so quickly. Connect the drive to your computer via USB 3.0 and enjoy fast data transfer, e.g. large high definition movies. However, if your computer or other device does not have a USB 3.0 port , you do not have to worry. The disk gets along well even with the lower USB 2.0 . The factory-set RAID-0 field is also interesting, while the drive can also be reconfigured to RAID-1 redundancy (mirroring mode) or used as two independent drives (JBOD) using the included software .
Companion software
In addition to the device itself, the package also includes software to help you keep your files safe. WD Backup will take care of the backup from a Windows or Apple device . WD Security allows you to set a password for files to prevent unauthorized access. Last but not least, here you will also find WD Discovery , which connects the drive to the cloud or social media and allows you to import photos, videos and documents from the online world.

Can you post the part number for the power adapter? Thanks. I have the 3A version but want to upgrade the drives but need the better power adapter.

How do you go about backing up this drive? do you have a second backup options should this drive fail on you? or cloud backup>?
Hello Major, If you want to use the full Hard drive capacity then you have no back up which is the default setting as (JBOD) Mode, however if you want to play it safe you can only use 1 Disc and the second will be used as backup.
You need to decide at the beganing of setting your Unit and choose Raid 1. Means for 24TB you will only be using 12TB and the second 12TB will be used as back up. In case one fail the 2nd will be operational.

@@majorsinghtakhar Yes i configured my Cloud Home Duo already as Raid 1 RAID1 (Default Configuration) Using Mirror Mode (RAID1) keeps your data automatically backed up across your two drives. storage space will be limited to half, so even if one drive fails your data will remain safe and can be recovered.
Using Full Capacity Mode (JBOD) will give you access to all your Storage Capacity space, but if either drive fails your data will be permanently lost. You can learn more about drive configurations using this link support-en.wd.com/app/answers/detailweb/a_id/16591
OK, i got it out of the box. How do you hook it up to the computer? THERE IS NO DOCUMENTATION!!!!
I hook it up using USB Type C cable to Macbook.
It does works without any issues with Mac ? Need to format ? Thanks
It does but you have to install the Microsoft NTFS for Mac by Paragon Software (15.10.592) so you can read and write using Macbook Pros.
