@@jam00723 yeah not a fan of the European styled "desk" controls. Miss the old EMD cab set up where you could lean back and rest one of your feet on the heater. They also seemed more female friendly if your on the shorter side.
@@Vzw-dj9rf all class 1 locomotives get ran hard. Even the “heritage” units don’t get any special treatment. She’s an ACe so they will work her hard because she’s built for it.
I was debating going to see that because it was parked in Sterling Illinois with a SD70 workers up front so it would have been cool to see but my schedule did not allow 😢

It’s not long before a new rebuild is covered in oil and exhaust soot those exhaust stacks and turbo are good but suck as well and when you work on them that stuff is not coming out of your clothes lol. The stack gaskets burn up to easily

From a retired BLE&T Local Chairman off the UP in Seattle, I would be very careful about posting content like this revealing your identity. Our Uncle Pete takes a dim view of recording anything on the property. I got disciplined for using a stand-alone camera to take a photograph of a switch flag test. I won in arbitration, but it doesn't matter that their own rules allow it. Cell phone cameras are a big no-no.

@jam00723 depends which company, at CN our Gevos use control stand while I believe the CPKC ones use desktop controls.

This engine was at my yard in Mira Loma, California in 2022. Crazy how far the katy goes.

Good Question!! seen a Trio of GE's start up in sequence once, after the first one was started, but haven't seen anything similar since.
Depends on what state of shutdown each unit is in.
If the all units are equipped with auto start/stop they will all turn on, when the reverser is thrown either forwards or backwards. Same with the DP's
