So is there no more Habsburgs that could call themselves the official Emperor of Austria according to their rules of inheritance?

@@Reynaertphotos Yes but the question is if there are any habsburgs left who can call themselves official emperor.
Anyways, because his son wasnt alive during the Empire he never got officially recognized as heir since there was no throne to become a heir to.
So yes Habsburgs still exist, but none is an official heir

@@Astro_Guy_1 Otto's son is head of the Head of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine and as such would be Emperor of Austria, if Austria still had a monarchy, and if births, deaths and marriages had happened in the same way. You don't get officially recognised as heir, you just are. However the likelihood of a Habsburg restoration is pretty remote.

Believe what you want, but the facts are the facts. I'm not saying everything was all peaches and sunshine under the Habsburgs, but all of those Balkan and Central European states existed in greater harmony and prosperity under Austria-Hungary than they had before or since. Austria-Hungary's pan-national pan-ethnic structure brought many lessons and inspiration to the composition of the EU and Otto von Habsburg worked hard and contributed much to forming the current Euro Economic Community.

  • @justinrobert2570

You would do well to review your history, sir. As ironic as it is, Austria-Hungary served as the role model for post-World War Europe and indeed the European Union. The Empire was really the first and only one of it's kind, a multi-ethnic, multi-national empire which made great strides in fostering tolerance and positive relations between different nations/peoples...a veritable template for the current European Economic Community.

I'm not sure I would say that much about the current Karl Von Habsburg.

As you can see, at the funeral were all the peoples of the empire: Croats, Hungarians, Italians, Romanians, Ukrainians, Austrians, Bohemians, Czechs, Slovaks ... All missing the unique multicultural Country, multi-religious, multi-ethnic. They all lived in peace, with respect, justice and Rights. It followed the masonics "National States", with their millions of deaths and ethnic hatreds that still continues today, as in Italy & Balcans.

The slovenians fought to last man, for defend theyselves from the italian imperialists, and so on. The peoples formed their new governements, only when the finish of the Empire was clear. The sons of the empire voluntarily gave their lives against Italy..few desertions, few processes, very few shootings,
