I really miss the basic looping coaster architype. schwarzkopf type stuff. I love that rides have gotten more unique and varied, but there's something about those intense as hell little single and double loopers that I'll always appreciate. I also appreciate the little pictures you throw up when you get one. It would be easy to just film you doing this, toss it up, and call it an easy video, so it's nice to see you put that extra touch on top.
Thanks, yeah that was a request that people asked for once i started doing these videos, it adds a lot to the editing time but makes it less boring for sure 😴
Or the classic Arrow loopscrew? It's short, it's not that exciting these days, and it's guaranteed to give you a headache from headbanging, but there's some sort of charm to them--sort of like a big stupid dog that isn't very *good*, but you can't help but love. (Also, they do remain people eaters in capacity and... well, the sight of a train traversing that classic Arrow double corkscrew over a midway? You just can't beat that for ambiance.)
I've thought for a while that the classic vertical loop doesn't get the respect it deserves today. They can be either intense positive-G machines or bloopy hangtime-y inversions, and both kinds are fun. They also have a spectacular look. B&M, Vekoma and Gerstlauer understand this. RMC doesn't even do them--I understand that what they do to the pacing isn't what RMC is going for, but it contributes to the disparagement.
@@rdfox76 Even the original corkscrews have fans. I never liked the Canobie Corkscrew and wasn't that put out when they tore it down (you could make an argument for it having historical interest), but a surprising number of people said that was their favorite coaster at the park.
@@rdfox76 Yeah, like my dream scenario for Corkscrew at Cedar Point is they just have Mack or somebody Remake the exact same layout with computer design and leaving the iconic Arrow corkscrew supports over the midway. I think it's a ride style and intensity that you just need to even out a park's lineup like Revolution at MM.
I got 63%, which I'm pretty happy with given that I didn't realize the serious time crunch until like halfway through. Missed Anaconda despite making it my first answer the first go around cause I accidentally refreshed and lost the first 2 mins of answers.
That timer is a killer. I got right to 100 when time ran out and was working east to west and hadn’t even gotten to a big chunk of the country including Texas and California excluding any clones like Batman
I think the 2 that hurt the most were the Magic Mountain ones. Mine personal one was Iron Rattler. When the clock is ticking, the sweat really POURS. Don't forget to Spring FORWARD Saturday night! Your videos make me SMILE!
I got 163/199. I somehow missed Pantheon, but I got the other inverting coasters at BGW. I probably would’ve remembered that if I had ridden it but I went in 2021
I think with enough time I could probably get 80-90% of them. I got 121 but I suddenly remembered an entire region of parks that I didn't think about and was still typing in answers when time ran out.
I did the same strategy of going through geography. I couldn't get through all of them definitely not enough time, plus the quiz is out of date. It includes some 2021 coasters and is missing 2022 and 2023. It also doesn't include Freespins, like Chris said. Maybe a couple more minutes would be good on the quiz because even if you know them all, you won't be able to type them all
Because I'm an East Coaster and also old, there's a lot of overlap between the ones he didn't get and the ones I've ridden. The Loch Ness Monster and sooperdooperLooper were the archetypical looping coasters to me for many years; both were the first inverting coaster at their respective parks. Phobia Phear Coaster was my most recent new cred. But he remembered Canobie Lake Park! And I had no idea that Keansburg Amusement Park existed let alone that there was a Pinfari looper there. Seems they moved it there in 2015.
66%, which isn't bad, but I also expected more of myself lol. It's just difficult to get things in the time limit. I also had a real test today so my brain is already fried
I forget that not a lot of people know about CJ Barrymore, its a small little park north of detroit, mainly go karts, batting cages and other carnival style rides But I can claim that I have that credit, it used to be Python at Playland's Castaway Cove in NJ
@@AirtimeThrills that’s what I did, I didn’t even think abt parks, states, anything I just started listing coasters also damn “set myself up for failure” story of my life omg
Definitely should be at least 20 minutes. I'm a slow test-taker anyway and still wouldn't have gotten them all but I may have been able to go from 60 to 75%.
Awesome video and spreadsheet info! Could you do one of these videos by state (at least the ones with a substantial parks/ rides?) I'm down here in Texas and would love that to help plan theme park related trips/vacations I'm sure others would as well.
132/199 this was WAY TOO SHORT of a time limit! Even if I thought of everything split second I couldn't have typed them all out fast enough. I didn't even get to Canada or Mexico either. I needed another 5 minutes at LEAST.
I started with the East coast and was able to list off tons there but then got progressively slower as I went across the country. That being said we got the EXACT same score - 146 😂
I got 79% which is about as good as I think I could’ve possibly gotten. Timer is just too strict I was typing coaster names out like the entire time and I just ran out of time lol
@@AirtimeThrills that's true. I have no Room to speak because you named more roller coasters with conversions and I could name any roller coaster so hats off to you 👏
I don't even know if it's physically possible to get all 199 in the time that you had on the first try?? If you had unlimited time you definitely would've at least gotten 190 on the first try
"Extremely obvious" is a relative thing! I've noticed that on these things he always does it geographically and goes West to East, which is logical because it means he can start by banging out the things that are easiest for him to remember in a very short time without getting stuck. Though on any of these quizzes you can typically fill a big chunk of them out by just rattling off a list of the standard names that Six Flags uses: a bunch of DC Comics characters, "Goliath", "Medusa," "Viper", "Flashback"...
I always learn something new from these, like the existence of coasters in Arkansas. I was also low-key shouting “Flight of Fear” at the screen.
Their is no way any coaster fan could get all of these right
