The blue gown was unusual for Angelina. While she occasionally performs in colors, she typically favors white.
She has become the best all-round singer in the world, period! 16 years old. Thanks also to Republic Records and the team around her. And thanks to Angelina for letting us have old clips where you try all the time, and even play a chord wrong on the piano or guitar when you're practicing, and you choose to post it. It is what has made you the greatness you are today. No other artist does this today. Everything somehow becomes more real listening to you. Thanks for bringing real music back!

Its held at Halden in Norway. Its a sing along event which probably explains why she decided to drop the key by 3 semitones. This was take 2 only moments after the first one. Whitney also dropped the pitch for live performances.

Fun fact, this was her 4. performance of the song that day. 2 times for warm up and soundcheck. 3. time recording , her hair blew into her mouth, so she asked to do it again without pausing and the crowd loved it. I watched Angelina Jordan live in Kongsberg and it was amazing standing like 6 meters away from her while performing. This is a really hard song, not to mention being an iconic song for WH. At 16 yrs AJ did spectacular. She is still maturing and only needs to work on breath support. Compare this version to studio version when she was 13? Great improvement.
Let's put it this way. She could quit. Work on classical training for 12 years, come back at 28, record & perform for 22 years and then retire at 50! She is that young!! With insane🤪 crazy talent. Luv ya guys🎸
She had 3 concerts in Norway early this month...and fans from different countries as far as Hawaii flew to Norway just to watch her live. And those concerts are just phenomenal. Talking bout her not being a mainstream artists yet. But you guys say she had a loyal and dedicated fans and they keep getting bigger.
She recorded this song when she was 13, I believe, to a pre-recorded track which was in a higher key. She hit every note, but it appeared to be a strain. This is more suited to her natural range, and allows for more intricate vocal manoeuvring. 😎
The beauty and elegance of Angelina are refreshing in this era where female performers feel like they have to dress and act raunchy and sexually suggestive to get attention. In this, she reminds me of Haley Reinhart who is another brilliant, beautiful singer who is a class act. Also, it is apparent that Angelina is having the time of her life when she is on stage with her smiles and little waves to people in the audience.

flower crowns are huge and traditional in scandinavian countries . angelina grew up wearing them while performing. Allsang på Grensen (Sing-along at the Border) is a Norwegian musical entertainment programme that has been broadcast every summer on the TV 2 channel since 2007. The programme is recorded at Fredriksten Fortress, a border fortress in Halden during the summer. located on norwegian - swedish border. this is last season and angelina opened show and later sang bohemian rhapsody in a red dress. her voice has just started to change the last 6 months and will over the next decade... u can see improvement almost daily !!! she sang here at 8 singing " what a difference a day makes " it was incredible and also sang here again at @ 10.

This is the second time she had to start, someone told me, as the sound system was not right. Flowers is a tradition at Songs Across The Border which is held on certain day. Plus Angelina wore flowers she has sung in this family festival since a 8 year old young girl.
This concert is an annual TV sponsored sing-along event in a fortress in Norway near the Swedish border. It is held midsummer, & it's common in Scandinavia to wear flower hair pieces to celebrate summer. Angelina first sang here when she was 8 y.o. (!). Unfortunately, this will be the last year for this event. There are NUMEROUS fan-taped videos of her THREE July concerts elsewhere in Norway for you to check out. Yes, her voice has matured--or, should I say, continues to do so?
It´s not common in Denmark to wear flower-“crowns” in midsummer. Don´t know about Sweden, I have never seen any there.

This performance was actually the finale for the concert which included other performers as well as Angelina.
Angelina is awesome as a vocalist and creative artist. As you noted, she picked a lower key to bring in the full potential of her depth and timbre, but also IMO to make the song more accessible as a communication and story telling. We know that with Angelina it is not about the vocal pyrotechnics, but rather delivering the emotional essence of the song's story.
Someone commented that she's almost 6 feet tall now that's barefoot.

I remember when you listened to her sing this before, and you said it was cut, as you thought she didn’t have the stamina! Obviously she can kill it, all the way through!! Angelina keeps improving, but she’s always had it, and she’s properly protected it. One of her greatest gift, is that she touches your soul, in a way that evan makes grown men cry! Angelina arranges most of her covers, and makes it her own. I wouldn’t compare her to anyone. Angelina can sing anything, and I would imagine that in her future, she will cross many lanes, besides jazz. I haven’t felt this excited about a singer, in a very long time, and I can’t wait for her first album, however her education is her top priority. Angelina is simply amazing!! She had me at hello!!! This is her beloved home Norway in the northern climes where there are looong cold winters. Summertime is a celebration of nature, flowers and sunshine. Angelina and family has relocated to LA for her career but returning home for the summer festivals is a very wonderful way to stay connected. As you can see Norway is majestic and there is an overflowing of wanting too join with that. Hence the flower tiara. IMO

This is at Fredriksten Fortress in Halden, Norway, near the border to Sweden. “Fun” fact”: In the woods, just behind the stage, on 30 november 1718 the Swedish king Karl XII was killed by a random bullet during the siege of the fortress.
A bullet yes, but probably not so random, coming as it were coming from the Norwegian (enemy) side. It went straight through the head of the famous (and famously careless) Swedish warrior king, cutting short not only his life but the planned war. «Fun» fact number two: His death was barely noticeable in the instant: His head just slumped a little as he kept leaning into the lookout post and stopped talking to the guards and officers around him. (I am sourcing this on the Swedish historian Peter Englund.)

She is as tall as she looks. Angelina is 6'1" in her barefeet. She is stunning isn't she? She is 16 yrs.old. Angelina used to wear flowers in her hair all the time when she was younger. If you even just look at her banners for her past songs you will see. One, this is Norway. Two, this is a festival not a formal event. Angelina has performed here many times as she was growing up. Angelina likes to start off soft and build to a climax, especially with a song like this. She didn't "hit her stride", she hasn't missed her stride for a decade.
Well, she does have a guitar. Lately she's even been playing a bit herself on performances since she recorded her "Suspicious Minds" cover. I believe she'll start to get a bit more broader recognition once the label starts to push for giving her more visibility. I'd expect that to happen with her upcoming album.

This is the second time she performed it. The first time they had technical difficulty with the recording so they asked her to repeat her performance. So she did without a break. Thats why her hair keeps coming loose. They are in Norway at a castle where they have concerts.
“I Have Nothing” Her arrangement. TV2, had huge technical difficulties. They contracted to record Live, the televised version, which meant that Angelina had to sing this song twice . . . back-to-back! Do you have any idea what this did to her voice? I fully agree with what you say about Angelina´s performance, but I´m not aware of any huge techincal difficulties, and Angelina was actually the one asking to do it again. I was there.

I believe "Allsang på Grensen" roughly translates as sing along at the border. It is a festival at a fort on the border of Norway and Sweden that has always been a sing-along. 2022 is the final year.
I think the key might be down a little. Many have pointed out that Whitney also sometimes lowered the key of the song when live. Another interesting thing is this performance was the second of two back-to-back deliveries of this song that Angelina sang without moving (a second was needed because of some technical issue). A couple of weeks later on July 10, Angelina sang a 15-song concert, then two encore songs, then she sang this. How about that for confidence! Nice comments you two!

Nice analysis. Everybody was dumbfounded with this performance. This was really the first time her stunning beauty was showcased as much as her vocals. I do take a different stance with the comparison to Amy Winehouse (by many, not just here). She obviously does like Amy, but she likes many artist and draws influence from many of them. While Amy was a pure Jazz singer, Angelina has natural and intentional Jazz stylings. AJ can obviously sing pure Jazz when she wants to and does. That said, Angelina has developed her technique and vocal abilities way beyond. Whereas it's hard to find Amy not using the signiture Amy Jazz sound, Angelina uses Jazz techniques to color her singing. In "I Have Nothing", AJ uses Jazz color, but sings the song primarily in a strong classic pop style. I suppose my inclination is to say AJ has an incomparable sound that is unique to her as well as an amazing ability to sing or mimic any number of artist from Adele to Billie Holliday. Yes Amy falls in that spectrum. I believe the continued comparison puts AJ in a box she doesn't belong in, nor desires to be in. If you notice, in her concert when she introduced 7th Heaven, AJ didnt say it was a Jazz song. She said its a song with a "swing vibe". Amy was fantastic in her box. Angelina's box is so much bigger. Amy was able to make Jazz popular for a short time. AJ will transform Jazz stylings into a mainstream genre that will make a long term impact on music itself. Much like Whitney Houstan did when she blew the industry wide open. AJ has been honing her craft for going on 10 years, but she has really just begun. Her 150ish covers was just practice or warmup. The game is only just beginning. Imagine AJ with continued improvement in 10 years from now. She will only be 26.

This was spectacular and one of a few best performances of her career thus far. I believe it surely is a taste of things to come. Her range is incredible, and she now can sing in a much lower register when she chooses. If you listen to her version of How Great thou art, you will hear her in the lowest register ever. This concert was the first of a few that she did in the past 3 weeks in Norway. This one was televised.
Amy Winehouse is one of Angelina's great influences and there are a few different recordings of her performing Amy Winehouse songs. Back to Black at 10 years old, rehab at 10 years old, Valerie at 12 years old.
Angelina was extremely talented as a very young child and one Norway's Got Talent at the age of seven. That was the beginning of her Fame. She gained greater Fame at 13 when she was on America's Got Talent the champions and went viral with her version of Bohemian Rhapsody. The reason Angelina built such a loyal fan base at an early age was that she had the unusual gift of being able to tell a story and make you feel emotion even as a child. That goes beyond Talent.

The reason people wear flower halos at Angelina’s shows is because a lot of times she wears them.There is one video where at the end of her concert, she takes off her flower halo and give it to a little girl in her audience.

It's not fair to compare covers with the original. But the overall artistic quality of Angelina Jordan is outstanding and unique. All her covers can stand on their own. In my personal opinion this song is not able to showcase her full qualities. It shows that she can adopt it effortless and she is able to perform beyond her comfort zone. I like that she is absolutely fearless and self-conscious and the results are always remarkable. I think, Angelina Jordan is not only another singer, she is a singing artist. That goes beyond just performing a song. This is very rare.

You asked about the "flowers in your hair" thing: It is a Nordic midsummer tradition, plain and simple. It probably traces back to Viking-era times. When winter has said goodbye, spring is a recent memory and summer is coming into it's own. Everything is blooming and this is the time to wear flowers in your hair. The Hippies came much later and did not last very long with their dream of love and peace, more's the pity

This is a sing-along tv-show that is shot near the boarder between Norway and Sweden. Allsang=sing-along. På grensen= on the boarder. The sing-along programs is kinda popular here and been a thing for several decades

Welcome to Angelina in her native Norway. She did this festival almost every year from right after winning Norway's Got Talent at 8 yrs old till about 11. Great reaction. I am waiting for more reactors to jump on these new performances. I have heard after Allsang Pa Grensen held at Fredriksten which is a fortress in the city of Halden in Norway and where she did only two performances, she did about 17 songs in her performance at Kurbadhagen of which I have seen only about a half dozen including a new performance of 'Love On the Brain' and a couple of new Amy Winehouse songs. angelina has been performing at allsang pa grensen regularly since she was 8, which roughly translates to singalong at the border,which is held at an old fortress on the border between norway and sweden. who ever was recording fore allsang screwed up and they had to ask angelina to sing the song which she dids back to back. that shows incredible vocal strength as this is a very vocally demanding song . good work you 2.

Yes Angelina gives it her all. This was quite soon after her journey to Norway, probably still a little jet lagged. Here she had only two songs in the sing along festival - she was more settled by her final concert on July 10th at Kurbadhagen, the musicians did their best to keep up to her level - they were very good, they played for her back in 2018. As you two are into guitars you should really check out her new cover of Suspicious Minds - she has the same type of guitar that Elvis used during his comeback concerts in the 1960s - I don't think you can get one of those - she was loaned this one from Rob Christie, who was playing piano on this track, his day job is director of the L.A. studio of Republic Records. The vocals are stunning, and as her grandma was the executive producer, her two cousins and her sister appear in the video - hence "super cute" warning... 16 yo. She had to do this song twice because of technical problems I understand and that she did it 3 minutes after the first one. Most women struggle to do this song once. Being a Whitney fan I watch some of Whitney's videos when she was young. Whitney did this song in a studio at 29 when it sound so great but she would have not be able do did this at 16 at the same level as Angelina.

It was in Allsang pa Grensen on June 22nd 2022. My apologies but I don't remember the venue of the 1st of July. July 10th she was in Sande fjord but I particularly remember Kongsberg on July 7th 'cause I was there. I'll tell you this kids. Someone else may have already said this but she had to sing this song two times in a row with a minute between this was being performed for Norwegian TV and they had technical problems with the first time she sang it so she had to sing it again like one minute later

No it was not shot on a cell phone, it was recorded by TV2 from Norway on television live

@@billywoods9192 Yeah! I was singing together with some of the most prolific opera-singers of today. One of them sang with me one day, and Bocelli the next, but I still feel like it was a greater honor to have shared the same stage as Angelina!

Flower crowns are a customary symbol for single girls. If you look at Angelina's earlier videos, you'll see her wearing flowers in hear haor.
Yes, microtonal notes are not found on the unbent string. And the blues notes are found in the flat side of bends, bend the neck etc...
She opened one of her smaller more relaxed concerts with Mount Everest, totaly different. Wirth checking out.

This was a two-song appearance at Allsang (Sing along at the Border - between Norway and Sweden).
She then did three full concerts with an average of 14 songs each!
