Shellfish farms are amazing. My ancestors, the coast salish people, practiced mariculture in the PNW before European contact. I'm so happy people are doing this now.

I'm from Ensenada, and as a word of advice, I would not eat any of the fish from here, like at all, because the water is so polluted by all the poop water from Ensemada, that's why Playa Hermosa has been closed for two years now, the water treatment plant broke and the government doesn't really care enough to fix it, so all the waste water as it goes away from your toilet, literally straight to the ocean, and then to the fish you eat, yum!.
It goes full circle huh?
(Eddit): Forgot to mention that the watter in Ensenada is the most polluted water in Mexico.

Tbh. Northern Mexico has a lot of these so called whitewashed Mexicans. Most of those brown ones are down south, like in Oaxaca or something 😂
5:25 tuna ranching is not sustainable. Young tuna are harvested from the wild and put in those pens until they're big enough to be sold. Tuna are still being harvested from the wild with method so it's not a sustainable method. The whole idea behind sustainable aquaculture is to eliminate that step of taking fish from the wild. So until that step is eliminated, tuna ranching is not sustainable. There are some actual sustainable tuna farms he could've shown but they're not in Mexico
Fish farms are just horrible overall with very rare exceptions
That’s why I only buy catfish, any other fish I catch.

ok gonna be honest this sounds like a show that could be made for kids, but adults would tune in to watch. simply due to the end of what we learned.

I go to ensenada almost every single year,im suprised to see a modern video about this place, every location you have been in this video im familiar with. Especialy the fish market and the la bufadora.

When will you talk about the human trafficking, and the dolphin and shark murdering to keep the tuna all for humans. How we literally murder animals for their food. Stealing it sometimes right from their mouth. You really should do more research into the impacts of these practices.

Its crazy how I've been to some of the places. I visited Ensenada for the first time july 2021!
I had a math or pre-algebra teacher and her last name was spelled the same "Yang" but it was pronounced "young/yung", she qas Chinese, like she was born and raised in China she had a really thick accent, she was a nice lady
