Brilliant history about our lovely town. These walls need preserving & protecting. Thanks again Philip
Very interesting, thanks for making this.
Fascinating stuff as usual, thanks for the explanations.
How timely it is that I found your vlog. Very interesting. Thanks for putting this together. My grandfather was born in Prescot in 1900 and I have at least three generations of grandparents buried in the churchyard there. We’re visiting from the US in mid September to retrace his steps and will be visiting St. Mary’s Church. Looking forward to walking the town as well. Nicely done!
Thanks for the comment Dave, hope you have a great time in Prescot. Don’t forget to book yourself a show at the Shakespeare North Playhouse; the nearest experience you’ll ever get to a Shakespearean theatre anywhere in the world! 😀😳😎
Due to my dad’s firm British Vacuum Flask Company relocating from London, I moved to Huyton in 1952 (near Reading now). My brother went to Prescot Grammar but I rarely visited the town. Wish I’d explored more. Very interesting, thank you.
I’m glad you are enjoying the videos Rose and I hope you continue to travel around Prescot and discover more about our lovely little town via my CZcams 🤔😎👌👍
Have found few roman coins here liverpool phil
P U D C. Stands for Prescot Urban District Council. The urban district was shaped like a U around the south end of Lancashire. It took in the districts of Whiston Rainhill Bold to the East and Huyton Roby Knowsley to the West all extending north circumventing what became St.Helens. All part of the West Derby Hundred. All Green Belt sadly disappearing fast. We must also mention Farnwoth (Widnes).
Thank you for another fascinating video about Prescot
Thank you Stan. I’m glad you enjoyed it. 😃😀👌👍
The saddest thing about Prescot is that all the pubs are slowly disappearing
Thanks for another brilliant vid. I've known and been fascinated by all of those walls, but never knew anything about them at all, other than that they must be very very old! I really enjoyed this one! Would love to help do some research into them.
The Prescot town initiative missed a trick in not getting those walls scheduled, or at least a Grade one listing.
I see others have answered the PUDC correctly!
Thanks Tony…..I’m going to have a chat with my archeology friend to see if she can help and perhaps setup group to help preserve and restore the walls. 🤔🤔
@@Prescotian Brilliant. Count me in if that gets going! :)
Prescot Urban District Council . . . . obviously!!!
Not obvious to anybody under 30 years of age, which makes up almost 25% of the viewers of this channel! 🤔😀😎👌
