No matter what the Russians said, cluster munitions are designated for soft targets, not for infrastructure or industrial facilities. That would lead us to conclude that this attack was aimed at civilian targets in Crimea.

If an armed force is launching cluster munitions over a civilian area, but it malfunctions or is knocked off course by air-defense, the armed force that launched the cluster munitions is responsible. And the Ukrainians have launched attacks on civilians since 2014.

One ATACAM cluster munition got through and air exploded over the beach. It was not Russian air defenses that caused the explosion, that's a Western spin aimed at blaming Russians for the attack on the beach. And the missiles passed the military base to get to the beach, so I would not blame it on "military target". Small fragments of shot down missiles fell down in a different location.
But it's the Russian MoD who said that the AD missile that hit ATACMS rocket but failed to destroy the warhead.

small remark: in Russian "civilians" is usually called "peaceful citizens", to indicate the fact that they're not fighting (neither as regular troops, nor any form of guerrilla or even criminal/terrorist organizations, as technically the 2 latter are civilians too, but take part in combat). That's why it popped up in that bit of text you read there.
Civilians simply means that they are not fighting. Its extra to put the word "peaceful"

Day light attacks during holiday season Risk high levels of civilian casualties, it's one of the reasons Russia mostly carries out it's big strikes at night. The Americans would know that, they are well aware of civilian mitigation in carrying out strikes.
Russia pretty much never used cluster munitions over civilian areas. And ukries using S-300 stationed near civilian buildings is not the same or even similar situation, because they could place it in a different location and if rocket fails it would be a smaller chance of hitting civilian buildings. Russians placed air defence outside of civilian area, but munitions are cluster, that’s why so much civilians got wounded.

The atacms were launched by Ukrainians, targeting by the U.S. via Global Hawk and Forte 10. This ordinance requires know how and recon satellite support. This could be the red line! BTW where are all the launchers? Some say on and from dry cargo ships in Odessa. Level the entire harbor
Even if this one case would not have been deliberate, we know to well that UA dont care about civilians. It would'nt have been the first time that they used cluster munitions in densly populated area, or deliberatly attacked cilians with such weapons.

Thank you for that description of the missile likely hitting the Sevastopol beach because of deflection, rather than targeting. That's an important distinction and not one I've heard in other sources. It rings true to me.

@@feliceabbondante5183 That's actually a good point. This isn't a deliberate attack on civilians, but it's definitely attacking a 'civilian dense' area with cluster munition, which is illegeal. But, I think US isn't a signatory of this law.

And I think your also wrong saying that it was liely that the 5th ATACM was knocked off course too. 1: Ukraine has shelled cities like Donetsk for many years, it’s a common tactics in the hopes of scaring the populations enough so they leave the area under attack. 2 Also Podoliak has stated that “their are no civilain targets in Crimea.they’re all fictious” I don’t think you know how twisted some of the folks are your defending.
Occupiers in Crimea have had two years of warning to leave, so at this point yes Ukraine is correct there should be no civilians there. Ukraine does not systematically target civilians like russia does, so a deflection is the most likely, an error, or far less likely but not impossible is simply an angry Ukrainian not following protocol. It is generally surprising how disciplined Ukrainian military are considering what russia has done, but deviations are not impossible.

It is CZcams that removes comments. Manny forbidden words and combinations of words. Many CZcams channels complain, even engineering and electronics channels.

The distribution charge of the cluster warhead had to go off to distribute the submunitions so widely. The attack was in the daytime when the beach would have maximum occupancy.
