Gabriel Leite I’m not good with all the words, starting out so I can’t really figure out where they start and end 😂😅
One of today's greatest pianists - his command of the keyboard has no rival, and his vast repertoire as well. When everyone was calling "Last Romantic" to pianists from Arrau to Bolet to Horowitz to Wild...... they missed a true romantic who was still extremely active. Katsaris may be fact deserve the title, much more so than the pianists who somehow bounced around as if it was the flavor of the month.
VERY WELL SAID!
I don't know what it is, but when I listen to Katsaris playing, I sense an incredible joy he has in performing for others. Even when he plays music that sounds sad and solemn, it has this air of joy that is hard to explain. I guess it comes from his enthusiasm.
Ou do Bach... Com Deus...
Katsaris is perfect. He is premium interpreting Bach.
Katsaris is a master pianist who won the first Gyorgy Cziffra piano competition. His promoting of the lost art of improvisation reflects his great mentor Cziffra's enthusiam for playing his own transcriptions and paraphrases.
I am self-isolating at home due to the virus. I feel so blessed to have found this performance to carry my worries away and soothe my soul!
❤️
LOVE!!!!
…I sincerely trust that the great JSB and his protagonists were successful! RDS
Wow how have I not heard of him before absolutely amazing pianist he needs more attention.
Katsaris is one of those once in a generation virtuosos who embodies the art of music and the piano. And he’s a such a kind human being. We should all be fortunate to be contemporaries with such a musical giant. I have no doubt had he been heard by Liszt, Beethoven, Chopin, or any of the greats, they’d all be supremely impressed.
I really love the improvisation of "Ah ! Non credea mirarti" by Bellini (02:12 - 03:55) , so beautiful !
Cyprien Katsaris...Master Pianist....Magnificent...
***** Apostolate towards arts, an example to a life devoted to arts. Thank you maestro.
The Cadenzas are superb. And composed by Katsaris himself!
At 38:43 and 54:46
I almost feel ashamed for not having heard of this virtuoso until today.
And as a classical guitarist I simply bow to his wonderful rendition of Recuerdos de la Alhambra played here. I wouldn't think a tremolo that accurate would be possible on the piano. Respect.
I feel the same, seven years later. ;-)
@@martinvandergraaff1144 Yes, that just blew me away as well. As pianist I know how to do that tremolo but at the speed?????
what a glorious and gracious man and artist. I really enjoy listening to Katsaris. I confess my ignorance; having heard about this genius for years and only now listening to his music. I'm ashamed. Many thanks for sharing. J
As someone who loves to improvise at the piano I am already blown away by Katsaris's improvisational ability alone. That beautiful glass like tone he gets out of the piano, the clarity, resonance, sensitivity, and colour, simply floors me. What a great pianist, and to think I'd never come across him until today.
What a wonderful performance!! I have heard scores of Bach' pieces. This one is one of the best ones
Cyprien Katsaris is for sure one of the milestones of the art and pianism itself, surpassing all his rivals in the genre .
no rivals
I noticed notes in the Bach concerto I'd never paid attention before, and performed by a maestro I'd never heard before - delightful and exquisite!
The 1054 Concerto was amazing! so naturally layed, so concious of that piece. Real professional musicians. Catsaris could lead any venue.
Wonderful improv 🩵🤵
The Great Katsaris...beautiful playing as always !
Thanks for sharing this. Cyrprien is a real Maestro
Okay.... The pianist improvised Recuerdos de Allahmbra into his composition!! That is a Francisco Tarrega piece!! That is so cool. It sounds amazing with the lower register harmonies supporting that beautiful melody. He did a great job of entering and leaving the piece too. I had to comment!! I am a classical guitarist (sort of). BRAVO!!
Absolutely breathtaking
This exquisite Mozart sound haunts me in eternity ... Is there no relief? Antonio Salieri
Um concerto de piano gratificante
Wonderful Pianist! I have no words to define his sound... The colours, legato, phrasing... Maravilhoso, perfeito!
18:50 Master of piece
Bravissimo! Preferable and more enjoyable than improvisations in many other genres. Stimulating, refreshing.
Congratulations Mr. Katsaris.I heard your concert in Belgrade a few years ago…Very nice played everything and specialy Bach…Wonderful tonal expressivness achieved today by only a few pianist in its own way…
Quite a surprise and much enjoyable ...I am new to piano music, but have explored it lately. This one a new discovery.
Blown away!!! First time listening to him, O what a Maestro!
Genial! Einwandfreie Auffuehrung hat Cyprian Katsaris gemacht!!! Vielen Dank fuer das Uploaden!
1:05:55: F. Chopin: Nocturne Op. 9, No. 2 in E flat major
Fabulous! Not often one hears a Mozart with this clarity and spiritual balance.

43 music fell like old clothes , love , and a slow dance like music don’t need a speed limit .. Jesus loves you
damn bach you lookin pretty good for pushin 300+ y/o
Bravo!!
I would so much like to hear Katsaris arrange the Offenbach Barcarolle - though the Barcarolle really is so so so made for orchestral timbres.
I like the improvisation where he emulates cloches, bells, with their "false" overtones.
What an extraordinary technique!
Masterpiece!
great maestro !
i didn't know Yamaha piano sounds soooo soft and good…

Wonderful! Congratulations Maestro!
Your music is a delicattese
Wonderful indeed~thank you!
What a BEAST!
Merci
Super,Hyper!!!
melhor pianista que tem :)
I sometimes just sit next to the piano and instead of practising repertoire, i just play what i feel... and then i often regret not having turned on any recording device so i could write down what i played...
i just noticed that repetition he does in the improvisation, a mandolin-like tremolo
Hey t happens bro..keep moving forward even if backward forward
Enchanting❤
Magnificent !
Katsaris would have been more famous had he changed his name to something more flamboyant sounding. After seeing him play that most difficult Liszt paraphrase encore and receiving no standing ovation I cautioned myself not to overwork myself on the piano.
18:50 - 19:20 everyone stopped breathing.
Bravo !
Especially I like the 1st mov. This concerto is the most like Mozart. I feel so happy while listening to 1 st mov. Thank you so much that sharing this video.
AMAZING
I really enjoyed the performance. I really liked how he brought out motifs out in the open in the Bach performance, it was refreshing to hear. Bravo Mr. Katsaris 👏
I like Mr Kálmán Berkes' unfussy but effective style of direction.
Does anyone know if the arrangements for Liszt Concerto 2 are accessible at all?
Que genial pianista !!!!
What a renovated
