    Damn, ATO takes a toll on train driving skills. Piccadilly line drivers and other lines' drivers can enter the station much faster and kind of stop precisely in a short amount of time.

      Actually the Driver is driving in Coded Manual. Meaning the system is telling the Driver what speed to drive at. Nothing to do with taking a toll on skills... Driving manually now on an ATO line is very different, compared to driving the line before ATO was introduced. It's like learning to drive again.

      its routine to drive on Ato lines like northern on a sundays just for the Train Operators to " keep their hand in" so they know how it acts differently under manual & Auto modes

      @@SN06BNFyou can drive in PM (Protected Manual) at any time, providing you tell the CC, if a driver starts losing time the controller can tell you to put it back into ATO until time is made up.
