We need men and women who know world history, who value the Republic EQUALLY as much as Democracy, and who support the Constitution and Bill of Rights; we do NOT need a new theocracy or watered-down rhetorical religious-speak. This is like praying at a housefire instead of getting the high-pressure hose out.
I will credit the speaker for speaking some truths about our political system, and the need to get serious about it. Slathering religious rhetoric across the face of the problem is no solution. However, if such magical thinking can bring some of the uninformed to the ballot boxes, I won't begrudge that action.
How about we get serious and address reality in its actual form, not pretend to have magical powers and personal fairies and angels. The fact that he talked about soldiers running into bullets, into death, as an example for men today tells me he knows Jesus will not save us, and there was never any such saving that took place. The only work or saving done on earth is done by those presently living; by choice and for cause. Prayer didn't stop the war, it didn't stop the bullets, and it didn't stop the tears of mothers and wives, fathers, and the children left behind by the men who were slaughtered.
If prayer worked, prison cells and hospitals would not be necessary. If prayer worked, we would not be in the mess we are worldwide or in America.
If prayer worked, Christians wouldn't be dying regularly from heart attacks, strokes, and diabetes. All of that blessing over all of those meals, and you get fat and die.
LOL! All it takes is A LITTLE SELF CONTROL and education, and you can live a long healthy life with NO PRAYER WHATSOEVER.

Respectfully, I tell those that clearly identify as not Christian to read the Bible, at least the new testament part, through and see if God will not reveal Himself to you. So many who call on Jesus and their Savior started out as skeptics who chose to read the Bible to discredit it, and wind up believing.
