That end result... excellent work. Love the little small edits with the droids😁👍 Thx for showing us the process and saving a toy.
Thanks Chris!! 🤘 Always liked the Troop Transporter, so this was a great way to acquire one and I'm really pleased the restoration. Glad you loved the droids, just not sure they're cut out for humour though 🤣
Wow what an amazing transformation! Well done!
Thanks! Yep, very pleased with the result 👍
That was great. I had this exact toy as a kid in the 70s. You made it look and sound just like I remember!
That's awesome Bill! Never had this one myself back in the day but am glad it's re-ignited some memories for you 👍
Brilliant work Dave. Looks Awesome with its new stickers and sounds now.
Really pleased with the result! Amazing what some stickers can do 🤣
Great video Dave, glad to see the conclusion of the restoration 👍
Cheers Terry!! Finally it's done 🤣 and I'm really pleased with how it turned out 👍
Brilliant job man!
Oh, it seems it was worth the wait!! 🤣 Cheers Mark!! 🤘
Great video Dave! Keep up the good work.
Cheers Flux!! 🤘 Thanks for the continued support, appreciate it 👍
Lovely job Dave, that turned out a real treat 👌
Thanks Jeff!! 🤘 Really appreciate your continued support 👍
Always welcome Dave, my pleasure 🙏
What a finale! So sharp looking now. We can’t thank you both enough for your friendship and hospitality. Love you guys!!!
Nailed the dismount and landing Pete 🤣 Yeah, super happy with this restoration. We're so happy you made it to the UK, we had such a blast hanging out with the both of you! Love you guys back 🤘
Fantastic job. 🤜🤛
Cheers Deano! 😎
Great end result Dave. I almost felt sorry for the Death Squad Commander being blown away by the hair dryer, but his attitude at the end changed my mind 😂
As always, love the inclusion of "Future Technologies", it really underlines the laid back nature of your videos!
Ha ha yeah don't feel too sorry for the Death Squad Commander, he's back on the shelf where he belongs 🤣 As for 'Future Technologies' it's definitely one of my go to tracks for the restoration videos 👍 Thanks for your continued support, really appreciate it 🤘
Nice one Dave! Great to see this come together finally and what a top job 😊🙌
Cheers Christian! 🤘 It's taken a little while, no change there 🤣 but very happy with the result 👍
@@VintageToyRush the best things always do take time and it was well worth the wait! 👌🙌
Woot! I've been waiting for this one! Love your channel, man. You're the ONLY person that I've ever seen who's been successful at bending the guns back. They are SO fragile, that they almost always break.
Thanks Loston!! I really appreciate your kind words 🤘 With enough heat you can bend anything 🤣 Still, it was slightly concerning one of them might break. Cheers Dave 👍
This was fantastic work Dave. One thing I never knew about was the character stickers that correspond to the voice box. I guess you earn something new everyday! Well done!
Thanks Mike!! 🤘 Yep, we learn something new everyday. I'd never seen the stickers so clearly before 👍
Very nice restoration Dave. I really liked the comical "interludes"... especially with the Droids. :) Nice job!
Thanks Mike!! 👍 Those Droids really don't understand humour - they have no sense of timing or any idea of how to deliver a line 🤣 Anyway, pleased with this restoration, but more importantly it means the next project (you know which one) can now start 🤘
@@VintageToyRush lol, yep, those AI voices can be tricky... :) Looking forward to the "next project"!
Absolutely class Dave!!! Those cut always with the Star Wars figures crack me up man! 😂
But once again an exceptional job!!! Looks minty new, is there anything you can’t restore????
Love me some VTR , great episode 👍
Thanks buddy, as always really appreciate the support you provide to me and the channel 🤘 Now, if only the AI voices could learn to actually deliver a joke 🤣 As for the restoration, I knew this was going to be fun right from the beginning as a fair amount of work was required. Perhaps I need to find the worst condition toys as possible for future restorations 👍
Ooooo, I've been waiting for this conclusion!!!
Hopefully it didn't disappoint GForce and apologies for the wait 🤣
I've been waiting for this!
Ha ha!! We all have 🤣 Hope it was worth the wait 👍
Oh man, I just bought one of these, I really hope the sounds work as it looks bloody hard to fix them properly! I need a right door, a prisoner collar and that battery cover if anyone has originals! Enjoyed the video, have subbed.
Thanks Steve! 🤘 If the sounds aren't working, there's a good chance it's a stuck motor and that isn't too bad to fix 👍 Hope you find your missing pieces soon!
Hey I saw you on Leicester Vintage Toy Shop livestream, so I looked your channel up, great stuff man!
That's awesome! 🤘 Thanks for stopping by 👍
Good job on the restoration. I still feel It's slightly too fast on the fast setting and too slow on the slow setting but, It's a simple fix. What you can do is... replace the resistor with a lower value one on the slow speed to speed it up. Or... you can add a low value resistor on the fast speed to slow it down. You can easily experiment with it by using a temporary potentiometer in place of the resistor. Once you find the perfect speed, measure the resistance of the potentiometer and use a resistor value that's as close to it as possible. If it turns out that you need a value that's non-standard, just use a 2nd resistor in parallel (or series) to get it perfect. You can find calculators online to do this. Honestly, if it were mine, I would just replace the resistor with a tiny trimmer potentiometer inside so I could adjust the speed to be 100% spot on no matter what. Cheers! 🥂
Thanks! Slow is definitely way too slow 🤣 Good idea on using a potentiometer, although I try to keep these old things as original as possible. Don't know if you've seen, I have a dedicated video on the record player of this troop transport. It is possible to finely adjust the speed (only useful on fast) using a screw in the top of player itself. It's kind of a cheat as it relies on the changing the pressure of the needle on the record, the more pressure, the slower it runs. So it's possible to slow it down to taste 👍 Cheers 🍺
Great restoration Dave, the finished vehicle looks amazing. Loved the little comedy interludes… who is that voice artist? 😂
Thanks Scott! Yeah, pleased with the result on this one! The voice artist is AI - and to be honest it has no idea how to deliver a punch line 🤣
@@VintageToyRush Don’t tell Tez it’s an AI 😂🤣
@@scottwhitehouse7152 🤣🤣
Do you not find that the "Robo-sun" whitening is only temporary? I find that within a couple of weeks / months, it's back to square one.
I've heard this before - there will be the natural discolouring process but never seen it happen within weeks / months. In all the pieces I've done, I've not seen this. What process have you used to retrobrite?
@@VintageToyRush i normally use a peroxide hairdressers paste. I'm not as high tech as you 🤣
@@VintageToyRush i have a candidate for Toy SOS if you're interested? A G1 omega supreme.
@@mickmerr i use that too 🤣but maybe the continued UV light is just more predictable than using sun, well at least here in the UK !!!
@@mickmerr yeah, always interested in candidates for Toy SOS - do you mind if you email the address on my CZcams about page (view email address button) and we can discuss 👍
