I think this is a very fair and mature assessment. This is just a dopey game at the end of the day, and while the bully pulpit is popular, it is disgusting, and my biggest complaint about the community in general. Is it any wonder why it is so pervasive when one of these streamers who do it just happens to be one of the most watched? As a hack who plays trials every now and again to sneak a couple of decent rolls, only to be dm’d by similarly skilled players going out of their way to let me know I am trash, I can empathize. Yesterday i played a guy who was 2.5kd and last 2 seasons he is 5.4 and 6.1 respectively and he couldn't even 1v3 me( my bot team left round 1 god praise duos). His comments during that game were hilarious considering he plays wormhusk for 99% of his pvp gameplay and before this broken prismatic hunter meta came about he played almost exclusively invis hunter. This guy's ego has gotten out of control and he could care less about helping other creators or any of the people he carries to lighthouse. 100% cares about his wallet before anything else. @@jakemoffat1927 I'm pretty sure the other two players will have loss protection if the 3rd leaves during the first 30 seconds or so of a match or when flying in. If they leave after that, then there's no loss protection for anyone. That's why you often see streamers doing carriers do that if they're up against a stack they assume they'll lose too. The one that leaves will get a loss, but the carry and the other will have the loss forgiven so they can get the carry flawless without resetting their card. The one that left then just rejoins the game in progress, but it's a safeguard for the carry's ticket essentially.

This was very well put together and civil. Used to like Jake a lot, and I'm not a great player. There's been times I play against him and lose hard, say gg in chat, and he's chill. But if I'm using a cheesy load out, (most recent being speakers spam) he instantly becomes so toxic due to not wanting to lose. If he's winning, he's chill, if he's losing, or having to actually fight for a win, he becomes so shit talky, and makes so much excuses. Like...bro. I'm NOT a top tier player. There’s a big difference when I watch his videos and when I watch Frost. Frostbolt understands he’s playing the best of the best, and he doesn’t really complain. I play on console and matched with Jake 2 or so years ago I guess when he played it as well. Either way we beat them on Rusted Lands. No bagging, no toxicity, so when I went to his stream afterwards to say GG only to watch the match back from his POV and watched him relentlessly shit talk my Point of the Stag/Bastion combo. I asked him in chat why bows were viewed as cheesy even if I wasn’t hot swapping and he banned me. He’s a man child

Jake is certainly a specimen to say the least. I’ve had the misfortune to run against him in stacked teams with my duo a handful of times. I’ll however never forget a card I ran on Disonance when Igneous Hammer was in rotation. I’m the worse player on my team and am well aware of it, the game I played against him and Thrower I believe he bagged me after he lost 3 engagements to me and I was 3rd partied by his carry partner and shot downed by them sniping twice while he ran Foerunner Heliocentric on a Mechaneer’s build. I actually did pretty good that game and was satisfied with my performance and when I made a joke about it in his chat he pretended like it didn’t just happen.
Not all streamers have a Big brain. To me i think he is simply just one of those players who like to charge head on at every single game and struggle to understand other playstyles. His takes are not that different to other Head On assault in a game, competitive, pvp. It happens. Has an ego, but lets be real, who doesnt have some sort of ego. Overall, i think both of yall are cool people in your own ways and I think you were very mature in this video, instead of trying to cause drama or slander like other people probably would.

Jake doesn't understand why you play how you do because Jake is not a particularly "talented" player. He plays Destiny 2 as a career. He plays a LOT. He plays with one strong exotic a LOT. He plays with an input that benefits that weapon. He's a knucklehead who lacks self-awareness, in and out of game. There have been times I've seen Jake talk shit on someone and go on and on...and then later he will backtrack it and say it was because he was frustrated and it usually happened when he was getting stream sniped and dealing with cheaters and it was just snowballing upsetting him. But he needs to understand that being as big as he is, when he says something to a massive audience, it does so much harm to smaller content creators. Honestly, Jake is in a position where he could do SO MUCH GOOD for the community. Reach out to another good player that has a smaller stream, PLAY WITH THEM, sure all raffles through his stream because that's how he works, but he can play with them, talk with them, raise them up instead of trying to hammer them down.
Jake speaks the same way i did back in my days of Battlefield 4 playing with a competitive clan when we used to run into Brazilian teams. They would relentlessly attack our gimme flags. It was extremely annoying but their tactics were also extremely effective and forced us to waste time/energy rooting them out. As i got older i learned to respect these strats. Play to win/make the smart move which is what you are doing.

One thing I have adored about, not simply Jake, but a number of 'PvP streamers', is the number of times they'll get someone within an inch of life followed by "You peek that right", before getting irritated that the player has chosen to run away, and not re-peek directly into an active engagement lane and potential incoming fire, when the player knows there was at least one person previously there (even more so if within radar distance). Like, no, no I won't. The only time I even might consider it is if I had a Sniper, and even then, if you've just clarified you know where I am, why the hell am I going to challenge you from a losing position? This is the bit that's most annoying about them, what makes good content for them, are players essentially acting like absolute idiots and making (unforced) bad plays. Same sort of thing for where if I was running Cloudstrike and the 3 person cap zone, then *maybe* I'd try for the collateral - especially if an early round. You play to your outs. That doesn't however, translate to good content. So it's not the most 'exciting' footage (Say, winning more than just 1v1's), but if it's consistent. Eh. Doesn't matter.
Jake is alright, but he is not a top tier PvP player. The only reason why he is able to help people go flawless is because of Gold eagle TBH. He is always complaining when getting outplayed.

This is a super simple situation to break down: One player is worse than the other and has the emotional maturity of a flea. He then disparages the other players play style to help him sleep at night without just accepting that he isn't as good as he clearly thinks he is.
Having watched Jake for awhile now I can say even I've noticed he whines when he gets beat or defeated. He'll be quick to blame others rather than trying to figure out ways for him to get better.
My man I play halo infinite at Onyx and I’m aware that destiny and halo are too entirely different games. But any high ranked FPS player understands having a good shoot matters but awareness and map control is everything. Repositioning in any PvP game is skill and testament to your understanding of said game your playing.

@@jakemoffat1927 I'm pretty sure the other two players will have loss protection if the 3rd leaves during the first 30 seconds or so of a match or when flying in. If they leave after that, then there's no loss protection for anyone. That's why you often see streamers doing carriers do that if they're up against a stack they assume they'll lose too. The one that leaves will get a loss, but the carry and the other will have the loss forgiven so they can get the carry flawless without resetting their card. The one that left then just rejoins the game in progress, but it's a safeguard for the carry's ticket essentially.

Used to like Jake a lot, and I'm not a great player. There's been times I play against him and lose hard, say gg in chat, and he's chill. But if I'm using a cheesy load out, (most recent being speakers spam) he instantly becomes so toxic due to not wanting to lose. If he's winning, he's chill, if he's losing, or having to actually fight for a win, he becomes so shit talky, and makes so much excuses.

Grenader Jake is a good player, but he’s not top tier imo. Though I appreciate all his accomplishments and the sacrifices he made to help others, sometimes what he says rubs off the wrong way to me. He sounds like the average PvP player when they die or lose. Complaining about everything. Some of it is justified, but majority of it isn’t.
There’s a big difference when I watch his videos and when I watch Frost. Frostbolt understands he’s playing the best of the best, and he doesn’t really complain. He usually calls out his own mistakes and questions what he could have done better. It’s night and day the differences in mindsets between him and Jake. And that’s why I think Jake isn’t top tier.

I play on console and matched with Jake 2 or so years ago I guess when he played it as well. Either way we beat them on Rusted Lands. No bagging, no toxicity, so when I went to his stream afterwards to say GG only to watch the match back from his POV and watched him relentlessly shit talk my Point of the Stag/Bastion combo.

Jake is certainly a specimen to say the least. I’ve had the misfortune to run against him in stacked teams with my duo a handful of times. I’ll however never forget a card I ran on Disonance when Igneous Hammer was in rotation. I’m the worse player on my team and am well aware of it, the game I played against him and Thrower I believe he bagged me after he lost 3 engagements to me and I was 3rd partied by his carry partner and shot downed by them sniping twice while he ran Foerunner Heliocentric on a Mechaneer’s build. I actually did pretty good that game and was satisfied with my performance and when I made a joke about it in his chat he pretended like it didn’t just happen.
Not all streamers have a Big brain. To me i think he is simply just one of those players who like to charge head on at every single game and struggle to understand other playstyles. His takes are not that different to other Head On assault in a game, competitive, pvp. It happens. Has an ego, but lets be real, who doesnt have some sort of ego.
Overall, i think both of yall are cool people in your own ways and I think you were very mature in this video, instead of trying to cause drama or slander like other people probably would.

There have been times I've seen Jake talk shit on someone and go on and on...and then later he will backtrack it and say it was because he was frustrated and it usually happened when he was getting stream sniped and dealing with cheaters and it was just snowballing upsetting him.
But he needs to understand that being as big as he is, when he says something to a massive audience, it does so much harm to smaller content creators. Honestly, Jake is in a position where he could do SO MUCH GOOD for the community. Reach out to another good player that has a smaller stream, PLAY WITH THEM, sure all raffles through his stream because that's how he works, but he can play with them, talk with them, raise them up instead of trying to hammer them down.

Jake speaks the same way i did back in my days of Battlefield 4 playing with a competitive clan when we used to run into Brazilian teams. They would relentlessly attack our gimme flags. It was extremely annoying but their tactics were also extremely effective and forced us to waste time/energy rooting them out. As i got older i learned to respect these strats. Play to win/make the smart move which is what you are doing.

One thing I have adored about, not simply Jake, but a number of 'PvP streamers', is the number of times they'll get someone within an inch of life followed by "You peek that right", before getting irritated that the player has chosen to run away, and not re-peek directly into an active engagement lane and potential incoming fire, when the player knows there was at least one person previously there (even more so if within radar distance).
Like, no, no I won't.
The only time I even might consider it is if I had a Sniper, and even then, if you've just clarified you know where I am, why the hell am I going to challenge you from a losing position?
This is the bit that's most annoying about them, what makes good content for them, are players essentially acting like absolute idiots and making (unforced) bad plays.

This is a super simple situation to break down:
One player is worse than the other and has the emotional maturity of a flea. He then disparages the other players play style to help him sleep at night without just accepting that he isn't as good as he clearly thinks he is.
Having watched Jake for awhile now I can say even I've noticed he whines when he gets beat or defeated. He'll be quick to blame others rather than trying to figure out ways for him to get better.

My man I play halo infinite at Onyx and I’m aware that destiny and halo are too entirely different games. But any high ranked FPS player understands having a good shoot matters but awareness and map control is everything. Repositioning in any PvP game is skill and testament to your understanding of said game your playing.

At this point i believe content creators: i.e. Gjake, Frost, ZK, think they deserve easy games. Like they honestly think theyre entitled to something. Dude just had a tournament, and is complaining about your playstyle? Stat boosting? coming from someone that has so much pride in having how many flawlesses. Good video. First time coming across you. TBH I folllow Jake a d find him really entertaining. But I see your point of view too. If I had to guess, he finds your play style unenjoyable to play against. And frankly, idk how all of you playing and streaming trials all weekend long don’t bitch about each other. Jake is all ego with some skill. He acts like he knows all, and he knows how people should play, and if anyone plays differently, they call them weird. Jake needs to be humbled hard. He acts like he's a saint, but every video I see of him from other people, it's a hacking accusation or just him talking crap because they play differently and it bugs him to no end.
