I like mine a lot. Bad omens with cluster bomb, tracking module, high velocity rounds, and smart drift control. Of course with target acquisition mod and handling masterwork. And I've only killed myself with it a couple times. 😎

Main issue with lasting impression is that when using the “agent ordinance/godslayer warhead” charged with light mod, the damage buff only applies to the initial impact of the rocket. Since there is a 3 second delay it consumes your charged with light stack prior to the blast going off.
This makes me even more pumped about getting impact casing, field prep, lasting impression as my first role on the duello

Craziest burst damage I’ve done in 2 years. Finally managed to 1phase that bitch in Dreaming City strike, and we didn’t even have well or bubble or heavyweight, just tether!

I'm not feeling it. In activities outside of battlegrounds, I find myself switching back to my sword. I have a good roll on a code duello, a perfect roll on a bad omens and aside from ad clear, they're not doing it for me.

Besides it is a nice breath of fresh air as I feel like the heavy meta hasn't changed in forever.

Ehroar, you forgot one unique rocket: Sleepless. Sleepless is the only rocket launcher in the game that rolls with Vorpal Weapon. While the damage increase is a bit less than Frenzy or Lasting Impression, it has the upside of needing no conditions met for the damage increase

Honestly it might be the best perk because lasting impression requires two CWL stacks to get the damage of argent ordnance, yet vorpal only requires one stack. And it’s an unconditional buff.

I'm so happy they buffed rockets, they haven't been viable in pve for so long. Also, just saying, if you haven't tried an Izzy plus auto loading rocket loadout yet, you need to try it out. The amount of damage you do in a short period is insane. And pair that with backris as well? It's cracked bro

My first Royal Entry had Quick Launch, Impact Casing, Impulse Amplifier, and Lasting Impression with Blast Radius Masterwork...Royal Entry is a Precision Frame with Tracking built in. It's AWESOME!! The stats look like it's a high impact frame but it has tracking baked in.

Lasting impression by far is the best for single target dmg.
2:45 PSA: impact casing only increases damage by roughly 2.22%. The reload speed bonus of alloy casing will alloy for much higher DPS. While the damage numbers on screen may appear to show a 10% increase, that figure is misleading as the boss will only actually take 2.22% more damage
My strat for boss dps going forward.
Gear: Witherhoard, any energy(preferably primary for ads), Code Duello with LI, bottom tree Nightstalker, Orpheus Rigs.
Wither Hoard shot-> Tether-> Vortex Grenade+ Lasting Impression shot while first void anchor goes off to debuff-> Spam the rest of my Shadow Shots as the boss takes bonus DOT from Witherhoard and Vortex Grenade along with bonus burst dmg from Lasting Impression rocket and void anchors-> finish off with a final lasting impression shot during the last few seconds my multi shot tethers are debuffing the boss and continue to use weapons as necessary assuming the boss has survived the initial onslaught.
I have been loving lasting impression. I also love when I forget that my own rockets will kill me, so I will slap it on an enemy, go to revive an ally, only to have that enemy get too close while reviving... so just keep that in mind lmao

one thing about frenzy, though, is that you don't have to have the weapon active to get it to proc. its like pulse monitor; even while stowed it will activate for the weapon its on so long as the conditions are met. so all you have to do is meet those conditions before you DPS with duello and you're good. you can even use another weapon with frenzy so that you know for sure when it's active, such as Rendition. IMO this factor puts frenzy way above the rest. where Lasting Impression shines is with a Heretic launcher on a Bakris hunter. but for Duello, Frenzy is the better perk for sure.

Fun interaction with Div and lasting that I found while running through the NF, if you create the div cage then hit it with the lasting impression rocket- as soon as the div cage dissapates, the rocket explodes.

i think its for when you dont have the bow drawn all the way, and the increased reload with the perk might increase the nocking speed itself. this could have better close range ad clear potential

I also have a ridiculous Code Duello with Lasting Impression and being able to shoot someone or something at point blank range(I'm a melee fighter with Synthoceps) makes this Rocket Launcher an ideal weapon for my build.
Frenzy just feels like an inconsistent surrounded. Like, it takes forever to proc, but when you have it, it’s one of the best perks in the game.
Waiting for my dream rocket: Tracking Module + Lasting Impression.

lasting impression might be my favorite rocket launcher perk aside from ambitious assassin. Very consistent and super satisfying to see with reload mods/buffs because you can attach multiple rockets to the same enemy and see them explode one after another
I got volatile launch/smart drift control, high velocity rounds/impact casing, impulse amplifier, and lasting impression with a reload masterwork. I gotta say, it’s probably one of the strongest RLs in the game, if not the strongest
I really enjoy the div combo. I got impact casing, auto loading, and lasting impression on my first code duello. Makes pretty quick work of overload champs.

Try not to think of legendary rockets as DPS options. They are way better at ad speed clearing.
Code with Amplifier and Frenzy is now the quickest clearing rocket I have used (previously Sleepless with field prep and cluster).
It is also solar, so pops Warmind cells with a build.
Current NF, run Scout, Ticcu, Code, with a solar cell build (Global, Rage, Wrath, Healing, and any 5th choice).
Have your team mates as the primary DPS dealers.
Edit: oh, and one rocket reserves gives you 8 Codes, no need for field prep if you have amplifier.
I've got the rocket launcher with auto loading/lasting impression. I have been combining it with witherhoard for DPS and omg, CRAZY GOOD
The damage of the,impact of rockets is based on the blast radius. Lower blast radius means higher damage. That's why increasing velocity did nothing, as we used to think it was the velocity to blast radius ratio.
I got a bunch of rolls on the Duello, and my favorite so far is field prep + ambitious assassin. Being able to offload 2 rockets at a time is massive burst damage once the perk is up. I like it a lot.
I saved my iron banner bounties and got both the pulse and the smg, pulse rolled feeding frenzy rampage, smg rolled dynamic sway kill clip. Both of them feel really good in pve so id highly recommend doing iron banner this season

I love rocket launchers, but I think they’re only worth using if you’re running “Argent Ordnance” mods, which are costly in Season of the Lost (5 armor slots).
But my rocket launcher of choice has been my Adept Tomorrow’s Answer with Impulse Amplifier and Chain Reaction. The reason I prefer this over my Royal Entry which has Lasting Impression and Impact casing is because the damage on my TA is more consistent when using Argent Ordnance. This is because lasting impression requires 2 stacks of charged with light to get full DPS.
So, while I can get about 121,000 damage with a lasting impression shot on my Royal Entry (while using Argent Ordnance Mods), it’s not very often I get that kind of damage, especially in higher end content where it becomes a bit more difficult to become charged with light x2.
With my Adept Tomorrow’s Answer, I’m getting consistent direct hits of around 97,000 damage, and impulse amplifier makes it really easy to land my shots. I’ve taken it into GM nightfalls and it makes life really easy with its ad clear capabilities and it can take a good chunk of health out of a champion when it hits for 97K.
Rocket launchers are probably my favorite heavy weapon, but lasting impression just isn’t consistent enough for my liking when running an Argent Ordnance build.
If youve gotten the masterwork bad omens from Drifter back in year 2, you can pick one up from him and use it this season. In case you want a quick launcher with tracking and cluster.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the math is a little off there. There has been a 44% increase in damage numbers so you cannot just decrease the new numbers that you are getting, by 44% to get the dps values for the previous season.
So the correct numbers would be 57156 for 2 rockets frenzy dps and 35727 for 5 rockets frenzy dps
I got one with frenzy/surplus/impact casing and another with autoloading/lasting impression/impact casing

If you're using argent ordnance with lasting impression, you need 2 stacks of charged with light because the damage buff goes away before the delayed explosion can go off

I have Chain reaction on my Rocket launcher and it is like cluster Bombs on Crack! When the chain reaction goes off it spawns sunspots on bottom tree titan and you get ability back faster. I think I was in a sunspot when it happened

Let’s not forget the most overpowered perk: Luke Smith. Sunsets any item you are currently enjoying and is moderately viable even in niche situations. It leaves the foe without enough replacement loot and gives them things they’ve already grinded countless hours for with no real reason other than a hamster wheel philosophy. Also the perk enjoys other MMOs but only takes ideas from them it can twist into a miserable slog and disrespects player time investment instead of any player benefits being given, since they already have enough money from eververse. Great perk to roll in this game and definitely META.

The Godslayer rocket charged with light mod unfortunately procs twice with Lasting Impression, so you use 2 stacks of charged with light, one for the rocket hitting the target and another for it exploding. If you plan to use this mod then frenzy/vorpal is definitely the way to go. Having 5 damage boosted rockets (with supercharged) is better than only getting 2.
Can't wait to try using an auto-loading, lasting impression code duello with izanagi on taniks, that's probably gonna wreck!

You should also probably tell people that they want Hard Launch with Impact casing since that buff is tied to the impact and the higher the blast radius is the lower the impact number is

Code Duello with cluster bombs and a wrath of rasputin mod is nasty. It's not uncommon for the primary explosion to spawn a warmind cell only for the cluster explosions to pop that cell.
with godslayer warheads from the mod my frenzy rocket hits for over 100k a hit, been loving it so far
Cluster bombs help the most in pvp in my opinion, many times have I either missed entirely to have the clusters make the kill or nail a guy head on and the clusters kill his buddy who's just too far back for the splash of the rocket to kill.
So i had this conversation with a friend of mine if you look at the perk pool for Heretic now it comes with lasting impressions with it being an aggressive frame and Arc if you had a Mask of Bakris hunter with a god roll Heretic along with the best damage buff. i cant remeber if it would be charged with light, well, adaptive ordinance, or high energy fire. along with a debuff i think Heretic could be one of the best rocket dps options
It'd be mask, bubble, stasis (you have to use stasis anyways but with an aspect you do even more damage), a debuff like tractor/div/tether and a warmind cell debuff.
But I still don't think this would beat celestial on a boss but would be better against champions and without using all these buffs and debuffs. Infact I'm pretty sure with old cloudstrike celestial matched bakris with all these buffs and debuffs and celestial doesn't get affected by them, if you missed out on any of them then celestial wins
Another important argument against lasting impression is that it loses a lot of value against crowds of adds. Frenzy or not, the rocket will explode on impact and clear out a large are if you get crowded, but those three+ seconds of lasting impression could be enough of you getting killed.
Hey Ehroar, to make your damage numbers more comparable between seasonal power changes, maybe consider normalizing damage values to a weapon that doesn't get sunset (e.g. some exotic or mida mini/drang).
To do this, just pick your normalization baseline weapon and divide all your testing numbers by this guns damage. Basically what you did for "new" and "old" comparisons with the ikelos smg, though without the sunset time limit it has.
New RL is nuts!! Was hoping so bad for a solar beast and we got it. Paired with the solar warmind mod it’s a monster. I love it. Have field prep and it’s silly having to crouch to reload faster... would rather have auto load or frenzy. Just waiting for the rng gods to gift it
Note: Lasting doesn’t work with godslayer warheads. It only affects the initial impact of the rocket, not the actual explosion.
Pair all of this with godslayer warheads (rocket cwl mod) and rockets are actually kinda insane

Last impression does need good timing with immune enemies.. However i Actually killed an immune enemy it was pretty weird.. Also it can work well with Nighthawk or Titan missile.. Both hit same time

Proccing Frenzy on your primary or secondary then switching to your auto-loading Frenzy Rocket is certainly nice burst damage
Last impression/ auto loading paired with a First in last out w/ auto loading might be better. I think the combinations and ability to do damage with last impression brings rockets back into the game

If it doesn’t track, I don’t want it. Only big bosses don’t move and it’s nearly impossible to hit anything in the air without it. Plus you don’t have to line up the perfect shot and expose yourself to damage.

I actually like cluster bombs for the collateral damage they do. You get the initial damage to the target, but it also spreads the love to anything close by.
I’ve seen other tests where impact casing only does about 2.2% extra damage. Not worth it IMO, alloy casing is much better
but if you got auto load or field you won't need it

Pretty sure one of the rockets can also roll with vorpal so I’m kinda surprised he didn’t test that one too. Everywhere vorpal’s been it’s been a flat 15% increase, so it’s not a bad option compared to lasting impression considering there’s no delay on the explosion

Loved testing damage with divinity and the lasting impression rocket launcher lol for once I figured out a build before watching any videos on it.
This isnt rocket related but with the new exotic bow if you use the bombs first then get a crit hit while aiming in the explosions will proc as crits as well

I feel like people are sleeping on heretic since it's arc you can use it with bakris and has the same perks mostly with code duello
Also has the best stats (reloadspeed and verlocity). Also a high verlocity stat might matter if you use Lasting Impression cause you can hit the rocket slightly faster. Therefore causing the Explosion earlier
Also you can farm it at the altars of sorrow
I like tracking on my RL and the buff does not feel like 20% but still ok to use. Swords were rockin before the nerf way better....
1 con for lasting impression is that it will chew 2 charge of light if you use argent ordnance
