- After receiving a significant amount of requests recently, I now present my nineteenth Level Up video, "Level Up - China". See the territorial evolution of China from the original Xia dynasty in 2070 BCE to the modern-day People's Republic of China.

The Qing Dynasty owns the world record for having the highest percentage of the controlled world population in history (~37%)
That is not true the Achaemenid Empire had 44% of the worlds population as inhabitants according to Guiness world records.

According to a SciShow video, most dynastic collapses are linked to a volcanic eruption, but not all of them. In 1815, Mount Tambora made a VEI 7 eruption, but the Qing Dynasty didn't fall, as the dynasty was actually chill at the time.

Fun fact: in the transition between Zhou and qin, china did not ‘lose control’ of the other land, it’s more like it broke into way too many parts (so that is why he didn’t bother show it), and qin just happened to become one of the major seven parts (along with wei, Han, chu, zhao, qi, yan) that took over

As a chinese,I wanna say you know chinese history really well,but there is a small mistake,Qing dynasty used to own 库页岛 (forget what that thing called in english) before ceding to russia in around 1850s

One thing though, I think the way you removed all states ruled under “foreigners” is not completely proper.
For example, the Song Dynasty had a northern counterpart Liao Dynasty. It was ruled by so-called northern invaders but the legislation, court culture, and even major population, were gradually switching to a Han-dominating state, and made huge impact to Chinese culture after that era, especially the northern part of the whole culture sphere.
Not to forget the Jin, who took over from the Liao and also sparked many advances in culture and technology.

except for Qing dynasty, there are a lot of disputes on how much land the ancient Chinese dynasties controlled, but good video overall!
Because it was ancient times, all ancient countries and modern concepts were different.
0:11 Why did the Zhou dynasty have a disconnected northern enclave?
The whole northern area was conquered by Zhou but only the part around modern Beijing was firstly inhabited by Han Chinese people, while the land left blank in this video was still inhabited by the 'barbarians'. It is after Zhou's collapse that these barbarian tribes were assimilated by the surrounding minor Chinese kingdoms.
That enclave is actually a country called Yan （燕）
The king of Yan is the royal family of Zhou。their firts name is Ji （姬），inherited from father

well it's like the first time westerners attempt to misinterpret chinese history so I won't be surprised at all. apparently according to the view in this video, there wouldn't be a three-kingdom period at all.

Most of the dynasties rise from a small rebellion state till it swallows the whole former empire, during which they had to battle other warlords/rebellion states so........

To be honest, I like your video but I suggest you read more about Chinese history before you make the next Chinese history video.
In the ancient China, many Chinese dynasties o kingdoms existed parallelly so I don't think it would be precise if you only show one of them. I know it will be a big job but I think the precise is more important. Just personal suggestions.

I think adding minor details such as "notes" at the bottom of the video will help understanding contexts
I recommend you to watch "史图馆", which is a video series produced by a Chinese folk research team. It is the most detailed series of Chinese historical atlases on the whole web
this is surprisingly accurate.

ello, someone posted ur content on a popular chinese videosharing website. some seemed to enjoy it, others really hated it due to a tiny, inconspicuous island in the south-east of china, right next to modern day fujian. some dispute over when this island was colonised. also, the secondary uploader removed anything after qing, or the last third of world 1-2

How can it not be? The Yuan emperors took on Chinese titles and the majority of their empire was Chinese. Saying the Yuan is not a Chinese state even though ‘Yuan’ is a very Chinese name, is like saying the Qing Empire (in this video) is not Chinese because only its government is Manchu
