Tarix is interesting to me because for as average as I find his build, the fact that he was a male character with the Water element made him stand out to me. Man, I wish I was more enthusiastic about 2009 at the time, because the older I get, the more I appreciate the Glatorian and Legends waves.
2:17 damn, wasn't expecting tarix to hold the power of the founding titan
Tarix was the only glatorian (aside from Vorox) I never had as a kid. I got him recently and he’s become one of my favorite. Can’t believe this series is almost over
DAMN THAT MANY FRICTIONADDERS-
“I also bought seventy friction add-ons and did this:”
*Random interjection of hilarious body horror.*
I’ve been watching some of your older LEGO rewinds and these random interjections of humour are probably my favourite parts.
“This is his car.”
Where’s that from? Long covid’s made my memory suck @$$
@@NickonPlanetRipple It’s from your Pirates video, Redbeard’s car from LEGO Racers.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Tarix is like, the only 2009 set with gold parts if you discount the thornax that came with all of them.
Toa mata nui.
@@Vor1ki Okay, but that one is so expensive to get your hands on that it might as well not exist at all.
I like this mod, and Tarix is a good character. One tiny(and I do mean tiny) nitpick: I kinda wish you kept those silver/choral(I can't tell what color they are) curved shoulder spikes from the original, though I get why they're not there, as it would clutter the shoulders as they are now. Just a nitpick, great mod!
“I really like the water tribe.”
Me: Shocker.
I really like your Tarix redesign! Especially how well he gels with ackar. You get the sense looking at them that they're more knightly veteran fighters of a bygone age. Good stuff!
Of the Glatorian, Terix has the most distinctive color scheme, being the only Glatorian with golden armor, or metallic armor in general.
I really have to thank you Nick, before this series while I love the 09 story alot, I never really got into the sets, but these videos have been almost tempting me to open up my Lego bins and piece together my akar and vastus. I just wish kid me would have bought some of the villain sets toooo so could build up little fights. On another note though, it also reminded me of a memory I thought I had forgotten, but I remember right after seeing the legend reborn play at Legoland, going home with my new sets for that year and recreating all the cool scenes with my brother. I haven't thought about that in years and years thank you so much for that.
Honestly, when you said the modded Agori looked bad, I'd expected worse. Those actually look okay!
I can totally see the cyborg design of those elder Glatorian...that's super interesting and noticeable when you point them all out!
He looks almost like an Atlantean Warrior just by looking at his Magnificence!! I'm definitely looking Forward to Mata Nui pretty well!
Next to Warrior Class Skrall, I never did get him, but I do however plan to make a Moc of him my own way just the same.
He was the onky bionicle i had as a kid since I was born in 02 and my parents thought the others would be too difficult for child me, but it single handedly made me a massive fan of construction fans, and i played with it until most of its joints broke
Ayy! Tarix is my favourite Glatorian, great to see him get some love
One of the best your Mocs so far in my opinion😍 water tribe is outstanding
I’ve attached my friction addons into giant stacks before to keep track of them and I can definitely say I paid the price of trying to pry individual ones off with next to no leverage. I hope you faired well in that department.
Eventually
I was long out of bionicle as an interest at this point, so imagine my surprise opening this and learning that the Blue Bionicle is a man this time around. Neato!
I do not know why but the 70 friction add-ons part had me in shambles. Thank you.
Early gang, Tarix was my first and favorite glatorian and your mod of him looks fantastic.
Actually finished the video and then commented gang.
I didn't realize people didn't like tarix, he was my favorite after gelu
Tarix was the first Glatorian I got (And also one of the few of the first wave I got, too come to think of it...) I always thought he was simple, but really cool. His weapons and mask especially to the point where I still have his Mask on a Hero Factory MOC I made back in 2010.
oh Tarix looks CRAZY good lord
Tarix and Strakk were the first two Glatorian I got. Strakk ofc was and still is awesome with a "strakk-ing" personality, which is complemented nicely by Tarix, the exact opposite: calm and almost regal, as if you'd never want to bother this stoic and battle hardened warrior. Also, those spikes on its shoulder armor (and the blades too) always made him have this aura of an old viking to me.
Plus, as someone that only got Brutaka like a year ago, that dark blue+pearl gold colorscheme finally available in another set was perfect. So, even for MOCers he was a great deal imho.
The trans bright green was a nice touch from this revamp and I think it was the perfect character for that. Hurray for Tarix, not a dull set at all!
Something I did to Ackar and Tarix when I got them was add a grey axle to the back of their hands to make them appear like they were genuinely gripping the hilts of their swords. It was inspired by how the back of the hilt stuck out of their hands in The Legend Reborn. It helps their weapons appear to have actual weight in their hands.
Yeah, even lego did that with 2016 Kopaka (well, a black axle.... still looks good)
@@NickonPlanetRipple as a drummer it drives me nuts how sword-wielding Bionicle and Hero Factory characters rarely ever had simple hilts. It's TERRIBLE form to grip the butt of your stick/sword/racket at the very end lol.
somebody needs to do something like a "The Legend Reborn: Re-Written" story.
Tarix in the movie was rather insignificant, like alot of cool characters. No Branar, no Zesk, no Atakus, no Stronius (the character) and Tuma was an utter joke, unlike in the books.
I’d argue that your modded Metus is the best looking of all of them.
He looks like he would fit right in with Hali and the rest of the Mahri
Tarix has to be my favorite of all the 2009 characters
Such a good mod!
2:17 Looooooong Tarix
I like Tarix, I think the gold makes him look cool
I really love how you put in a lot of cool small details that really tell a story like that Vorox's chain ,or the fin motif to unite the other water tribe members. I wonder if you'll ever do the g2 revamps since I love what you've done so far with your other mocs!
Oh, I made mode videos of them waaaay back.
Your g2 review introduced me to your channel back when you used to go by NickonAquamagna. I wont lie looking at those old videos inspires me a lot while building in my spare time.@@NickonPlanetRipple
The shoulder pauldrons seem a bit much, but I can't imagine something better. Maybe the gold blades from the Hero's Factory scorpion-dude.
And this did not dissapoint.
One more to go and it's GOD.
Can’t wait for Mara nui
I agree about the mask and weapons. I don't know if the blue and gold worked as well as it did with Brutaka though...
I'm loving all of these so far, could you possibly do a variant of Mata Nui, where he mostly looks like the Toa Ignika, but with the yellow armor added on top, (like he added additional armor to better blend in with the Glatorians)
I've already made the Mata Nui video.... it's available for Patrons to view right now.
@@NickonPlanetRipple i figured, just wandering.
The mass friction limbs should used for a new character
People think Tarix is the worst?? Really? I always thought he was really cool, especially with the horns on his golden Inika shoulders. As for this mod, fantastic work again. I was a little bummed in the preview that horns were gone but I know the Piraka foot is supposed to emulate them and tbh has grown on me quite a bit, especially with the lil golden barbs on the foot.
Hey these agori mods look great! I would love to see a vid about them.
Say, question;
You gave Gelu ski-like feet, but... Bara Magna is a desert, 90% or so is sand. Sure, maybe he can ski in the sand [I GUESS its not unheard of] but does he specifically climb dune to ski down? Is sand as easy to traverse on skis as snow? Gelu is also described as a guide, who escorts people across the harsh territories; how does his ski-feet fit into that?
And as for Tarix, since you've given him a breathing pack ['for dives' as you said]; where does he dive? Again; he's on a desert planet -and a Mad-Max style planet, at that, water is a precious and valuable resource, and you're more likely to find the remnants of a jungle than even a large pond. Maybe, in theory, he could specialize in checking bodies of water to see if they're safe to drink or has some vicious monster in it; but he's a combat Glatorian, would he even have time for that? And if that were the case, then why him, and not some Bara Magnan better suited for something other than combat, like an Agori? They're much smaller, and would disturb less of the water [and its not like all Agori are incapable of combat or hunting, or whatever]
Of course; that's even IF that's what a water breathing apparatus on Bara Magna would even be for.
Personal preference; but I like him having the elaborate shoulder tusks, instead. It lends further to the survivalist nature of Bara Magna, like they're trophies from a great desert beast he bested, something he killed in order to ensure his own survival in an otherwise inhospitable area, something he keeps as a part of his armor to both remind him how harsh the world can be, and to let others know that he means business
I always figured there were some bodies of water that were just too salty to drink. And yes, there are icy mountains on Bara Magna. That's where the Skrall ran into the Baterra. I never said Gelu couldn't take the skis off in-universe. I just wanted his feet to look cool.
Wait, people said Tarix has a boring design? I mean, he was never my favorite design-wise out of the Glatorian, but I’d hardly call him boring.
It was a different time.
@@NickonPlanetRipple Ah. Fair.
Please add a jilt to the bottom of ackar’s fire sword. It looks so weird with out something on the bottom of the sword.
Hilt
No what you need to do is…
*toa Mata nui*
where the soundtrack come from?
As the text that appears at the beginning of each song in the bottom left corner says, AM2R OST. "Another Metroid 2 Remake."
ups, didn't saw it, thank you
So where could I find a sealed Tarix?
Bricklink or ebay would be the best bets.... if they haven't all just been bought up.
I didn’t know you did books. Self published?
Yup. Working on volume 9.
Cool
@@NickonPlanetRipple I am still working on my first book
Tarix is pretty neat, being the only male water toa. I think water characters are underrated
Sorry to sound annoying but what’s you thoughts on lego animal crossing?
It makes me sad. I mean it's cute, but.... I dunno
It’s also really expensive, 75$ for 500 pieces???? Yeesh
Whaaat people don’t like him ?!
First
I'm sorry to interrupt you Elizabeth, if you still even remember that name, but I'm afraid you've been misinformed. You're not here to recieve a gift, nor have you been called here by the individual you assume, although you have indeed been called. You have all been called here, into a labyrinth of sounds and smells, misdirection and misfortune. A labirynth with no exit, a maze with no prize. You don't even realize that you are trapped. Your lust for blood has driven you in endless circles, chasing the cries of children in some unseen chamber always seeming so near, yet somehow out of reach. But you will never find them, none of you will. This is where your story ends.
And to you, my brave volunteer, who somehow found this job listing not intended for you, although there was a way out planned for you, I have a feeling that's not what you want. I have a feeling that you are right where you want to be. I am remaining as well. I am nearby. This place will not be remembered and the memory of everything that started this can finally begin to fade away, as the agony of every tragedy should. And to you monsters trapped in the corridors, be still, and give up your spirits. They don't belong to you. For most of you, I believe there is peace and perhaps more waiting for you after the smoke clears. Although for one of you, the darkest pit of hell has opened to swallow you whole, so don't keep the devil waiting old friend.
Love Tarix, got him in 2010 I think, always loved him. Adore the mod, but miss the silver, those silver horns on the shoulder were my favorite part, sad to see them go.
Sorry...
