My god, finally a real D.I.Y person that has taught me not to be afraid of trying. I applaud you. I just moved from the Bronx to upstate NY and want to create for my family and for myself. You have given me inspiration and hope. Thank you!
You are so welcome! I wish you good luck in your future projects ❤️
And you learn after cleaning drywall dust for 3 weeks, that rubbing with a damp sponge til it's smooth vs sanding is a pro tip. Another pro tip: Liquid Sandpaper. Cheap as heck, a quart goes a really long way and no sanding cabinets. Redid all my kitchen cabinets with it; Kilz 2 and regular latex paint...easy, cheap and no noxious fumes! And no sanding!!!!
Thanks for the tips!
Glad to know I'm not the only one who underestimates how much time and effort a DIY will take🤣
You need to invest in a respirator! You are my hero - a very brave woman to tackle this. I look forward to next weeks video. Too bad you didn’t use the Stone Coat Countertop process for the top. Thank you!
8:04 Yes!! Please get a respirator! Your lungs are valuable!
Yes I definitely need one. I think I have one but I gotta find it. Unfortunately no epoxy countertops on this one but maybe one day :)
They're $5!
Okay I'm old, they went up. They're $12 lol
@@no_peaceyep they went up after covid because particulate masks are the only ones that work
“I just got impatient and this is what happens” is literally my life 😂😂😂
Just found your channel. As another female DIYer, I so appreciate you showing all the bumps in the road during your renovation. Nothing ever goes quickly and you always run into snags. Most of the time it's on the stuff that you think will be the easiest. I really enjoyed the humor in your video. Also, thought the editing was top notch. I've liked and subscribed. Cheers!
Aaww thank you so much 🥰
I love your channel. You make mistakes. You work through them, learning as you go. I love that you keep it real Tiff.
Yes!!!
Thank you ☺️
'and the sink' caption as soon as you chipped it - had me laughing way louder than I should have.. It all looks glorious - I absolutely love the colour scheme. It's right up my street! it will look totally lush when done I look forward to seeing it :) xx
Thanks 😆
Pro tip - use All in One paint by Heirloom Traditions for all your cabinet and furniture painting projects. The adhesion quality is the best on the market. They even have paint for refinishing leather and vinyl furniture. It's amazing stuff!
Thanks for the tip, I might try it at some point :)
Spackling is My number one disgusting job!! It’s fun to watch another young lady do her own work. Yippee!,
You had me laughing when you came out the bathroom with your shirt covering your nose. It almost it was like, "don't nobody go in the bathroom for about 35 to 45 minutes, someone open the window😂😂😂
😂
2-3 days to do a bathroom - ha ha ha, only in our wildest dreams! I'm in an older home and every quickie project "Always" uncovers a few hidden problems/issues to deal with, adding several days on the game plan. I always figure twice the time as I think it will take, so I'm not so disappointed.
The bathroom is going to look so good - it already is such an improvement with the lighter walls. Love the cabinet color, I like sage greens. Looks like you're going for butcher block on the counter top, nice choice. It will match the shelves from the mood board and maybe the frames also. Very nice!
Thanks and yes i agree only in my wildest dreams a project I pick would be simple lol
I just had to come and say I regularly vacuum my walls (I have brick interior walls and they accumulate AND create so much dust) and I always think people would think I've lost my mind 😂
😂😂😂 that makes perfect sense
The color of the cabinet is so pretty.
Thank you ☺️
She did it again
🥰🤗
I love the realness of your video. After taking on my own bathroom project there were parts that I could relate to!!!!
I have a tiny bathroom too and like you I painted it a light colour and I also hung some strategically placed mirrors and it brought the light in plus, made the room feel bigger. IMO some mirrors above the shower, on each side of the small window should be helpful.
Great idea!!
Love your channel. Please, never change!
Thanks ☺️
I love your videos because there is always some good info in them
And it shows it's ok to make a mistake as long as you do not give up. For newbies that is such a good reminder!
Thanks I’m glad you’re enjoying them :)
We have about the same size guest bathroom. Same layout except the shower fixtures are on same size as toilette. (Weird for yours bc it usually goes by location of the water pipes-ours are all on the one side). We used to have sage green (like your cabinet color) walls, then we repainted the whole house for sale. It didn’t sell. The white walls on a small space shows all the marks and fingerprints and dust. And you feel like the walls are inches from your nose. I went back to a dusky greenish gray with a bit of tan mixed in. The walls now “recede” with the darker color and you get a more cavernous and spa like feel to it. But changing a room makes it feel fresh and new. I’m sure it’ll be lovely for a long while to come.
OR LOSE MY MIND TRYING!!!!🤣😂🤣😂While your video is fun to and educational I like your comedy too!
😁
Anytime you paint laminate use a bonding primer. Home Depot and Lowes both have excellent bonding primers.
Thanks for the tip!
I’m starting to sand and repaint my kitchen cabinets. You’ve inspired me with your remodel, it’s coming out great! ❤
Awesome thanks and good luck with you project :)
You are very impressive and inspirational.
Thank you so much ☺️❤️
Just found your channel, girl you and I are so much alike! I have done a lot of my own projects in the house. I have done the kitchen and bathrooms, and currently attempting the laundry room! I love the money saved, and the learning process, (mistakes made, a few...here and there) I totally get the times of laziness and impatience, those are the times that I made the mistakes!. Great Video! My downfall is a strength that you seem to have, I have no idea how to pull things together!! Color, textures, and details of design are not my strength. New Subscriber here.
Thanks and welcome to the channel! Putting things together can be challenging, I actually spend a lot of time browsing through Pinterest, IG or anywhere online looking for inspiration, sometimes it takes me months to land on the right design but I just keep playing around with it until it feels right :)
Thank you for being down to earth! Your restroom looks great!!!
Thanks!
Wowee, this was a ton of work! And 20 second mud made me giggle 😂
Yeah my brain doesn’t function after a few hours of work lol
Great job!!
First time viewer, and I usually fast forward through DIY videos. I didn’t here; didn’t want to miss any of your entertaining commentary. 😊
And I love the cabinet color!
Thank you 🥰
To reduce drywall dust, slightly dampen the drywall dust before sanding and use a wetted sanding block.
Your videos are so thoughtfully made!
Thanks ☺️
Excellent! I am subscribed. :) You seem to have some skills and most importantly, you don’t let something new intimidate you. Thanks Tiff!
😄 thanks!
I just found your channel. I think you're brave and thrifty. I think it's great that you tackled the project and found ways to complete what you wanted without spending so much money, especially when on a budget.
I'm really impressed with your filming and editing. This video was so engaging. It must have taken a lot of time and effort. Instant subscribe!
Thank you for noticing we put a lot of effort to try to make a good video ☺️
@@diytiff it shows! Great job 👏
Looks fabulous. Well done!
Thank you
Yayyyy!! I'm here for this new project!🙌🙌
Seems like we approach diy in totally opposite ways: You said your projects end to be more complicated than you thought - I tend to overthink during planning, only to find the issues I thought about were easy fixes and I still have to improvise on problems I did not see coming 😂
I wish I could be a little bit more spontaneous but I inevitably start overthinking once I want to start ordering the materials I will need. The only diy I can do without overthinking is simple stuff like painting, etc.😅 But just like it happened to you, I almost always manage to get paint in my hair
Yeah, I’ve recently started to plan a bit more, I use to just go for it which makes it even worse as far as delays and problems coming up lol
I subbed today so I can keep track of your projects. I love DIYers who keep it real. I mentioned in one of your laundry room videos that I had started a pantry makeover that was taking longer than expected. A few hiccups and working only on weekend/days off. Well, it's going on month 4 😅 At least 2 cabinets are painted and installed and I have 3 shelf frames up. Slow and steady wins the race lol
You’re not alone lol that’s my projects usually go. Good luck with the rest 😁
lol. I felt your pain. It's not easy doing a job by yourself. Great Job for completing it. It came out nice.
Thanks ☺️
Just happened upon you…..you are so adorable and honest…I’m hooked. Tks for all your videoing your all hard work. Signed, a great grandmother in Kansas.
You are so welcome 🤗
Thanks for the inspiration. I'm taking notes because I need to redo our bathroom too. I absolutely love your choice of colors, especially the green!
Thanks! I love green 💚 good luck with you project when you start it :)
Hello 👋 new to your channel I really enjoyed watching your video how did you learn to do repairs it’s interesting 🤔 can’t wait to see the outcome of this bathroom meanwhile I’m about to watch your other videos ❤❤😊
Thank you!! I’ve learn to do repairs over the years I fixed a couple of houses up with my dad and I learn as I go with every project
Ooh yes another diy video from you 🎊🎊🎊🎊
lol mine's stalled bc I want wallpaper. So I had to skim coat the textured wall. I sanded for about 27 seconds and stopped. So now I'm stalled, waiting on a delivery from Amazon for a drywall sander that hooks up to the shop vac.
Once that's done, it'll be full steam ahead on paint, paint, floors. The vanity? That's its own special extra project. I decided. 😂
Love what you do! Definitely has given me some inspiration.
thanks :)
I love this thanks for showing us your diy. Keep up the good work.
Thank you!
Love the colour of the sink cabinet. The makeover is so good
Thanks so much! 😊
Beau travail 👏🏻, 🇨🇵
* gets special advertisment Lady accent ready * Need that quick senior check but your're 30 years away from getting it? Don't want to feel guilty for sitting at the front of a bus? Gotta go but there's a line to the restroom? We'll try the iconic Sanding Plaster powder Geezer spray! Just follow these simple instructions and you'll go grey in seconds and be hacking like a geezer simply by inhaling the gritty fumes. Now you can sit at the front without sour glares. Get that extra insurance just in time for a special event. and pee a river anywhere you want and not worry about a line up! Just as long as no one asks for your I.D. Looking forward to more! I love the idea with the vacuum. one day a few years back we had a small kitchen grease fire and the ceiling were black I cleaned them with one of those sponge mops . it works .
lol that would be a funny ad. Sorry you had a grease fire, I’m glad the mop worked. I think there are some primers that will cover the stains and the smell that lingers .
@@diytiff lol it was a long time ago worse part I had one day to fix it because house inspection was the next day. It was exhausting. But managed to get the black ash stains out. Lol
First time watching your channel love it and you are funny 😁
Thanks 😁
This is amazing!!
Thanks ☺️
Good job girl ! 👏👏
Thanks :)
I ❤ muddwalling. Could do it all day.
You inspire me
Try a peel and stick, kinda renters friendly way until you can afford what you really want
Mudding isn’t fun at all! I use 90 minute setting mud - because I need as much time to apply and not have it dry on me.
extension to last post* If the next phase after bathroom is kitchen or any other room with the counter top. If I find such a thing exists I will let you know if they have invented non chipping waterproof counter top paint. That way if the next paint job clashes with it, it'll be just a brush and a swish swish easy as pie fix.
Thanks! I’ve seen countertop paint, I just never trust them to be durable. Epoxy it’s another option, but it’s very tedious to do.
@@diytiff oh I agree with the epoxy. It can either be your friend or a nightmare.
Hi! Just found your channel and, you know what? Consider myself subscribed! I really want to know how that countertop turned out!! Your mood board really speaks to me and the progress so far has been fun and interesting/inspiring to watch. I like it here. Thanks for sharing. Now, if you'll excuse me, I think there are some more videos I need to go binge. 💜
Welcome 🤗 and Thanks for subbing!
❤❤❤정말 멋져요
Girl!! I didn't know you had this channel!
😁
I bought everything already 2 years ago and I still haven’t started the guest bathroom 😂
😂😂😂 maybe one day…
A shop vacuum would help. Its looking good 👍 Do you have resale stores ( habits) where you are at, you usually can find a lot of building supplies. Till next week.
I’ve haven’t look to see if we have places with repurposed materials that’s a good idea, I usually go to thrift stores
One person DIY projects of this scale are never 2 day projects. I’ve got 20 years of construction and even I would struggle to get this done in just two days.
❤
I’m wondering what the strips were for in the first place. How weird someone put them there for no reason lol. You did a great job!
Thank you! They are to cover the seams of where two pieces of drywall meet instead of doing tape and mud like I had to. It’s faster to do the strips but they’re in the way If I want to hang something in the wall 😁
Opening the door after dusting in a tiny room🤣😂🤣a mistake i will never make..Worst mistake😂🤣
😂😂😂
PPE! Ever heard of silicosis?
Hahahaha I thought the same thing I got this 2 days. It’s been a month….
lol yep it happens 😂
Like many has said, wear a respirator. But if you can’t find one at the time you need it, at the very least use a drywall sponge - it’ll take longer, but your lungs will thank you.
thanks for the tip!
Why leave one strip above the door??
I only took off the ones that were in the way where I’m putting shelves and a frame on the wall and the rest aren’t in the main area or as visible. It was mostly to save time. There’s actually more around the bathroom especially in the corners, it would have just taken forever 😩
Masks!! Wear a mask 😷 when sanding Anything! Please Great Job ! Just wear a mask.
gracias!
Lol next time
This is so so bad for your lungs
Yeah I will definitely use a respirator next time
