    Wow, that's a great build! I like the ladder storage, and how the beds fold up to the wall. The only thing I'd add if it were my trailer, would be a one piece linoleum floor to protect the plywood from melting snow when a sled is parked inside. Of course, the carpeting would be rolled out for camper mode.
    Thanks for sharing!

    Such a sweet rig. Just got my 5x10 v nose today. And I'm planning my rig. First I need two slider windows.

    Got a blue print on your lay out. That is a nice simple set up. I have a 6x10 and started working on it. See if I could replicate like yours...

    Outstanding conversion! One thing, though, and that is your trailer sure looks like a 6' X 10' from where I'm sitting. Unless you're 4' 10" tall, that is. Heehaw. Great job! Thanks for your video.

    I have a 5x10 and a 7.5x16 trailer I am working on. My 5x10 has three ice fishing ports in it and was inspired by Joe Tremblay (youtube videos). Both of my trailers are in the very beginning stages of conversion as I am not really sure what exactly it is I am trying to accomplish with them both. I do know (much like yours) that I want to be able to haul a quad or motorcycle in the 5x10 and sleep two. Much like you have a cut-out for the snowmobile ski, I will have (in the forward center) room for the front tire mount of a motorcycle.
    I bought the 7.5x16 to make into a camper and thought I would sell the 5x10 although still find myself mostly using the 5x10 trailer (perfect size for so many things). I put my Articat 300 quad in the back of it and tow the trailer out to the boat launch. I pull out the quad and hook the trailer to the quad and pull the trailer out onto the ice and fish out of it. I have wired AC plugs in it and use a Buetti EB150 to power everything. My grandson loves it and brings his tablet out (I know but it keeps him interested in coming along). I put a third ice port in for him a little while ago so that he will have his own port to fish out of this year. He and his dad and I all go out and is great fun. I am installing another 6inch port for a fish finder soon.
    I had a diesel heater in it although removed it thinking I was going to sell it but now realize I am keeping it. I installed the diesel heater in our (rustic) log cabin (up North Michigan on 40 acres of land) and so will buy another diesel heater (bigger one for the cabin) and put the original one that is currently in the cabin back in my trailer. I was told that smaller diesel heaters run better because they run in "full" mode more often and don't carbon up by running in low power mode so often and so bought a 2000KW 12VDC. Even that is a bit much for my little 5x10 trailer and especially now that it is insulated. I plan to add a window or two and a roof vent soon. Even without insulation and a buddy heater (yes...carbon monoxide detector as well) it gets so warm that we hang up our coats and fish in t-shirt/jeans even though it is single digits outside and wind blowing. I wil get a bigger diesel heater (probably a 7500KW) for the 20x24 log cabin. The cabin has a wood burner for heat although it is nice to have the diesel heater to run all night, and also to warm up the place when you first arrive until we get the wood stove fired up.
    I fully insulated my (brand new all aluminum) 7.5x16 trailer and had enough material left over and so am using it to insulate the little trailer (enough pieces taped together to make whole sections). I LOVE what you did with this trailer (especially the beds). I have two questions (if you don't mind)?
    1) How did you mount the bed hinges to the wall?
    2) Where did you get that metal diesel tank from?
    Thanks for the video...along with Joe Tremblay...you give me great inspiration on things to do to mine.

      Hello Chad. As you know, the trailer has a metal frame. I screwed 1 1/4 x 1 1/2" wood framing to the metal and then fixed blocking at the level of the hinges for the beds. This way the hinges are attached to the blocking which is attached to the wooden frame which is attached to the metal frame. I went 1/4 thicker than the metal frame to lessen thermal bridging and reduce condensation in cold temps. I bought the metal fuel container on Amazon. Should be easy to find.

    Great Build! and a layout I am considering for my build, however one thing that confused me is that the interior looks wider that 5'.. if the bunks are 30" they should come to the center line of the trailer. Maybe its the angles of the camera or my eyes are not working properly, but it looks like you have a 6x10 cargo trailer.

    • @greatwhiteshredhunter
      @greatwhiteshredhunter Před rokem +5

      You are correct. My mistake. It is in fact a 6x10. Good eye.

    This is stunning and genius! Thank you for sharing. What did you use to attach the 1/4 ply to the firring strips? It looks so smooth and thicker than 1/4 the way that you have it installed it. I love the simple beauty of the plywood. Thanks again.

    :)

    • @greatwhiteshredhunter
      @greatwhiteshredhunter Před rokem +2

      The dimension of the beds are 30" wide and 6'2" long. The width was dictated by the height of the trailer.
