Selma Lagerlöf blev även känd som filmförfattare. I och med filmatiseringen av Charlotte Löwensköld fick aktrisen fröken Sergelius instruktioner av Selma kring hur hon skulle uppfatta huvudpersonen. Uppläsning ur romanen av Selma Lagerlöf.

I wouldn't call her an intellectual. I noticed that she didn't understand the concept of the Swedish historical provinces vs. the counties. She didn't get that Säterbo parish historically belonged to Södermanland. She also had this stupid story of the "philosopher" Uncle Eberhard, who wrote a pessimistic magnum opus that could never be found. She either didn't know about Schopenhauer, Mainländer etc or didn't understand their importance.
