This is the best commentary I've heard from Paul. I like his combo with Nate better, but individually he is really good.
I really enjoy the player/TD commentary. Adds another angle to the game that I haven't seen yet.

I've seen a lot of people bashing this course and the course designer, but if Paul McBeth and Nate Doss like it then it must be a good course.

I see people bashing the course layout, but my biggest problem is the baskets. Way too many spit outs.

Wow, the TD is such a bad commentator. His event is great, but please do not let him commentate next year. Great coverage as always!
I completely disagree with Nate and it sounded like Paul does too. Hole 5 is definitely unfair to left handed players. Righties have a good chance at birdie or a much easier par. Lefties have NO chance at birdie. This is not the equivalent of any of the other holes on the course being "favorable" to LHBH or RHFH. Hole 5 is simply unfair for left-handed players. It is not a well designed hole.
And I'm a right-handed player.

Can't a lefty just throw a turnover shot on that hole? I don't understand the idea that they have no shot at it..
Show me a hole on any pro course that has ever required a righty to throw a 450 foot forehand, carrying ob, landing on what is basically an Island. It doesn't exist. Hole 5 discriminated against lefties. plain and simple.

That being said. In response to your disc golf related on topic comments:
It's not a hole that is simply easier for RHBH vs LHBH. There is no viable option for a left-handed player to score a birdie here. Sometimes Left-handed players get an unfair advantage on other courses/holes. That is not the case at this course. As a part of the Disc Golf Pro Tour and a temporary course (not forced into playing a hole designed 30+ years ago) I feel it was a poorly designed hole. Fairness does matter actually. This is a sporting event. Right handed football players don't get an advantage over left-handed ones.

Everyone who is saying way to much OB may need to watch USDGC sometime. I will say that some ob lines are very difficult. The course designer might consider changing some OB areas to Hazard's instead. Agreed on the baskets being trash.

This course layout is the worst one of any major-ish tournament.
a lot of these holes are unnecessarily hard... the players have to lay up, there is out of bounds everywhere, the islands are ridiculously tiny. when the top 10 players in the world go out of bounds every other hole, that's when you should be rethinking your course.

It's not too hard, it's just not very good.

I hate how smug he is about how everyone must hate him for designing this course. Those OB's are stupid, those basket placements are stupid, those tees are horrible and those baskets shouldn't be PDGA-approved.
Is this not professional level disc golf? Professional level anything means consistent upward movement. It makes top level professionals better, and in the same regard the difficulty of the subject must increase proportionally.

Am I the only one who thinks some of the holes here are flat out dumb? Is this course really fit for such a prominent event? The endless ropes and wacky basket placements make the whole event look utterly amateur. Some of the teepads are literally just spray painted boxes in a parking lot. What a joke. Go to a real disc golf course, not one that looks like it belongs to a high school gym class.
gilbs8247 It's a temp course. If the average player had to play this course it would probably be ripped out of the ground by an angry mob, lol.
