Europe is the best place to live..... when americans come to europe they say.. ohh lm going to Paris and london... when europeans goes to US they will say , we only so the fat people nothing else
once I heard a European talking to me and he said, "NA is only good for entertainment". So I guess he's calling America better in just about everything.
Thats true (if you remove Arizona from that list - most of us know a bit about the more famous states like Arizona). Guess we both have a little learning to do.
Not just Great Britain, several other countries that were colonies of Great Britain back in the 17th century, such as Australia. Although, there are only very few countries that still drive on the left side of the road. I say still, because everyone used to drive on the left side of the road when we were still riding horses =p.
if u plan on driving without ur seatbelt, and u get home safely, then good for u, i drive without my seatbelt sumtimes and when i get home i feel lucky cuz eventually my luck will run out
*Ireland:* -School kids crushed by rolling car -Little girl smashed by speeding car with distorted music playing -Little girl completely fucked by a truck sideswiping the car -Mother speared by a fence post -Man flies out front window and becomes a ragdoll -Car goes into lake and occupants drown I think there's more I just forget..
@lmoen21 Well it wasnt meant to be a critic, just a comparison of the values, maybe u cant avoid a cop but in Europe u don't need to because no Police will stop u for not buckling up in Europe theyre supposed to stop People for other things ;)
Lived there for two years, nothing happened to me:) It's not that Europe is so much better. Both the contients have their good and bad things about them
Estonia is actually very wealthy. In fact many of the "lesser" European nations are, like Croatia, or the Czech Republic. In fact, the reason Czechoslovakia split up is because the Czechs were rich and the Slovakians were poor and I guess they came down with a national case of "fuck you got mine".
so tame, most european commercials are graphic, often showing people and even children getting run over and people screaming in pain. They often use an after scene of the dead bodies in the hospital and parents mourning the death of their children. Then a court scene showing a survivor who is paralysed in a wheel chair and a shaming of the irresponsible drivers action throughout.
The American commercial is just one example of how the people are disciplined in general: money, brute force, humiliating, harshness. The European way is: realistic, teaching, prioritising, and sends the message that it really genuinely cares for the viewers. I relate to the European way not just in commercials but in general. And, this is a great example. I am American but received my primary education in an international school. But, really beforehand, I've always felt this way.
American: anyone from north, central, south America, the Caribbean also. Americans are anyone born on this continent. From Canada down to argentina, people are consider American
This video is not meant to prove whether or not one continent is better than another. It is just interesting to see the difference in values. United States and Canada=Money, Europe=Life. Huh. Also, it is stupid to argue "Europe" vs. "USA". Europe is very diverse as are the states.
@Echeque5 It's not so much a competition as a comparison. Sure I can agree that a seatbelt is there to save lives not wallets. But I do not see it as someone's better or worse because of there commercial, just that they have different commercials and cultures.
And there you have a reason why we compare the entire continent - Europe is made of those little countries - as one small country no-one cares but as a part of Europe (or EU to be exact) our little voices are heard. Plus entire Europe is the size of USA.
@HugoElders not exactly.Europe may have some commons stuff such as Christianity and Roman-Greek Civiliazation but there are million other things that each country is different comparing to the other
There could easily be an exchangi in currencies in the EU nations just as there had been from the older currencies to the Euro but you see, if the American people become too poor to buy American products then they'll need more loans which means more money being printed which will lead to huge inflation. So what you will be looking at is a currency worth so little it would be pointless kind of like pre WW2 Germany
@Darusdei they would like u to think that but they're far from it....just the opposite is true. behind closed door worse things happen than anywhere else
@r2d23678 Maybe, but we have ALL included, I mean ALL,whatever you need, medicines also , I don´t have to argue or fight with any private company, and, most important thing, I don¨t have to see anybody around me suffering or dying because he/she don´t have assistance, That,s very important also, don,t you think? (I,m not very fluent in English as you see)
It Isn't About Money But It Is Saying If You Get A 300 Dollar Fine You May Start Wearing A Seat Belt And That Is Horrible Info You Need To Compare More Then One Piece Of Evidence
theres only one thing i know if theres humans then theres war because from formal discussions start little fights and then it goes to wars.. and then the end of this world so instead of having civil wars and trying to be kings of the world or b****ing around we should help each other and help the damage house in wich all live in because if we dont act together we will eventually die from our wars
then how will people know both nations face massive number of car accidents they both have a police force that looks for people who don't drive safe but the police can't be every where so the best thing next were to put the message into people's heads
I like more to think of the seatbelt as a device that doesn't permit the ejection of your dead body from the seat you were on, helping forensic identification purposes.
if theyre telling you to buckle up so you dont get a ticket how are they trying to get money out of us. getting a ticket means you have to pay a fine or go to court. if you buckle up you wont get a ticket and have to pay.
The European commercial makes sense and shows the real point of why you should wear your seat belt. The American one is a waste of tax payers money and shows what the government and law enforcement really care about, getting more money from the public. They don't care about safety, they just want more of your money!
im from europe and that's not even that shocking of a advert, i remmeber one where this guy would see a dead 5 year old little girl, and he would see her everywhere... and it was supposed to be a girl he ran over
Okey I will only speak for my own country (Estonia) - Freedom of press (2011-2012) Estonia 3th USA 47th, Mothers index (2011) Estonia 18th USA 31th, State of World Liberty Index (2006) Estonia 1st USA 8th. We havent had any school shootings, free health care, most of us speak at least 2-3 languages, highly developed technology (free wifi is not rare), 3 years of parental leave (18 months of full salary from government). So stop being ignorant just because UK is the only country you know in EU.
I dont like people comparing the US and Europe coz in Europe its around 35 countrys and when you compare it to US (which is only one country) thats kind of wierd! But i guess its many americans that cant name more then one country in europe.... And whats most importand, your money or your life???
That is how America runs. This is nothing new lol, Im an american and yes money is the blood of our country. I would like things to change but our economy is so reliant on the incredible importance placed on money, that our country would fail without it. Have you ever wondered how America has manged to match the living standards of all the other countries without taxing its rich and only taxing a third as much as in Europe? Now you know.
hmm how about the US introducing cameras in cars by 2014 and face recognition systems being implemented nationwide or no swearing in songs or TV or maybe even that kid who made a joke on Facebook that ended in the FBI breaking into his house and arresting him for 1 year and a half as well as mobile phone calls being monitored...call that freedom P.S how are you to know the number of cameras in a country and the anti burning of flags was also introduced in the US quite recently
I hate american advertisement so much. but to be fair, in this case both those adverts were pretty shitty. If you want a good ad, go watch the google chrome one thats on in the UK atm. Was awesome:)
Both Commercials are effective, but in different ways. The American one makes you think, "I need to wear my seat belt so I don't get a ticket" The European one makes you think, "I need to go call everyone I love and tell them I love them, because I don't know when I'm going to die." P.S. Maybe the European driver shouldn't have been so drunk, making him slam his car into a tree
Those nations weren't allowed to adopt the Euro unless their economy was (or at least looked) sufficiently healthy. If the Euro is on the brink of collapse then they could only transition into a weak currency (without joining a much larger (healthy) currency). You also seem to have a bizarre understanding of the US economy. The average US household has far more disposable income than the average household in any other nation ($38,000 compared to Switzerland's $30,000). Inflation is not a concern
It,s easy.Europeans don´t have to worry for medical bills because we have social security that covers it all no matter if you have a job or not. Universal medical attention.
diverse as in crhistian? lol... and even if you argue that it's "diverse" the ad didn't take on particular religion and in most religions there is a "heaven"
@Echeque5 agreed but i wouldn't say intelligence is the selling point when it comes to all out war its religon, we need more logical thinkers. For example you'll never hear about an eccentric killing in the name of Darwinism. Atheists have noted a negative correlation between the practice of religion and the intelligence quotient (IQ).
In a sense, the USA is just 50 countries united under a single government. Comparing one European country to the US would be like comparing one US state to the EU. That's why people compare the EU as a whole to the US. As you say, the US is better than any country in Europe (although that is debatable depending on what you mean by 'better'), but the EU is 'better' (again, what exactly does that entail?) than any US state.
That's pretty much the difference between America and Europe in a nutshell.
they do this so people will wear their seatbelt to keep them safe.
I like the European stand point then America
Who the hell crashes a car into a tree in the middle of NOWHERE?
Someone who doesn't eat his vegetables.
I do.
AppO
I have a felling you're stalking me.
Jake from State Farm You wish I was, buddeh.
Drunk people
Yeah, that's pretty accurate with just these TWO comparisons...
There are even more scarry commercials in some other european countries. The same goes for using a phone while driving.
Woaaaaaahhhhhhh The European commercial Touched my soul (only way to put it)!I'm never going to to drive without a seatbelt!
wow, what a powerful advert the european advert is!! also does anyone know the piece of piano music at the very end of the european advert??
Thank you, sir.
Europe is the best place to live..... when americans come to europe they say.. ohh lm going to Paris and london... when europeans goes to US they will say , we only so the fat people nothing else
4 years later europe sucks start banning muslims lol
once I heard a European talking to me and he said, "NA is only good for entertainment". So I guess he's calling America better in just about everything.
Noobie Gamer You day America sucks and yet you’ve never been to it. And they say Americans are ignorant.
This is very true. But people never think that it will happen to them, receiving a ticket is a lot more likely then crashing to a lot of people.
Thats true (if you remove Arizona from that list - most of us know a bit about the more famous states like Arizona). Guess we both have a little learning to do.
Euro Welfare 1
Amercian Capitalism 0
Capitalism = evil
To answer the question in the description: yep, that’s America for you
*gasp* I have to wast two seconds clicking something together >:O xD
thank you
Not just Great Britain, several other countries that were colonies of Great Britain back in the 17th century, such as Australia.
Although, there are only very few countries that still drive on the left side of the road. I say still, because everyone used to drive on the left side of the road when we were still riding horses =p.
GET IT ON!!!
wow !!! I'm afraid of tickets....I'm going to use seatbelt from today ;)))
if u plan on driving without ur seatbelt, and u get home safely, then good for u, i drive without my seatbelt sumtimes and when i get home i feel lucky cuz eventually my luck will run out
*Ireland:*
-School kids crushed by rolling car
-Little girl smashed by speeding car with distorted music playing

-Mother speared by a fence post
-Man flies out front window and becomes a ragdoll

I think there's more I just forget..
@Bigbleachy If you are fearless, how come you are scared of tickets?
yepp!
@lmoen21 Well it wasnt meant to be a critic, just a comparison of the values, maybe u cant avoid a cop but in Europe u don't need to because no Police will stop u for not buckling up in Europe theyre supposed to stop People for other things ;)
a norwegian ad on the internet!
Its these days that make me proud to be norwegian.
Lived there for two years, nothing happened to me:)
It's not that Europe is so much better. Both the contients have their good and bad things about them
heh the British version of that click it or ticket ad is creepy, it involves crying and graphic dead bodies in bars...
Allow me to introduce you to the word typo
Estonia is actually very wealthy. In fact many of the "lesser" European nations are, like Croatia, or the Czech Republic. In fact, the reason Czechoslovakia split up is because the Czechs were rich and the Slovakians were poor and I guess they came down with a national case of "fuck you got mine".

As a result, hell is a better place.
If I can go to heaven and know it for sure - I will drive into a three right now!
@HIMValo616 this commerchial was Norwegian
@lmoen21
man you stare in a tree and you miss the whole forest
The American commercial is just one example of how the people are disciplined in general: money, brute force, humiliating, harshness. the commercial that represents european seatbelt commercial is norwegian btw

The seat belt ads from Ireland are extremely shocking. & I mean EXTREMELY shocking. Look them up, they'd be banned in America I'd say.
it works because us Americans don't care about dying but we fucking hate wasting money
And that kid had ended the Fb status with
'lol jk'
And how was the FBI to know?
I like the European one but I feel like if that was in America there would be a lot of complaints. America is really diverse religion wise.
2020 anyone???!?!?
@Echeque5 It's not so much a competition as a comparison. Sure I can agree that a seatbelt is there to save lives not wallets. But I do not see it as someone's better or worse because of there commercial, just that they have different commercials and cultures.
@porterbehling They don't maybe just the Guy who posted that vid ^^
I guess in America is everything about money and fines, while in Europe it's about lives.
LOL
I think that the European one focuses on the religion while the American can't really focus on a specific religion to set as an example.
And there you have a reason why we compare the entire continent - Europe is made of those little countries - as one small country no-one cares but as a part of Europe (or EU to be exact) our little voices are heard. Plus entire Europe is the size of USA.
adam carolla!
@HugoElders
not exactly.Europe may have some commons stuff such as Christianity and Roman-Greek Civiliazation but there are million other things that each country is different comparing to the other
@FayeValentine666
I did'nt think anything was too religious for the US
There could easily be an exchangi in currencies in the EU nations just as there had been from the older currencies to the Euro
but you see, if the American people become too poor to buy American products then they'll need more loans which means more money being printed which will lead to huge inflation. So what you will be looking at is a currency worth so little it would be pointless
kind of like pre WW2 Germany
@Darusdei they would like u to think that but they're far from it....just the opposite is true. behind closed door worse things happen than anywhere else
Okei, its only in great britan they do that
@r2d23678 Good for you then, if money makes you happy you are in the right country.
;)
Yes, America is all about money.
Of course. Anything you disagree with but cannot refute must be sarcasm.
@Echeque5 Oh, because health care is supposed to be expensive and ineffective, riiiiight......
lol maybe he dodged a car
i like the european one beter becuase i can sing alonga nd act it out in my chair
ps im americaa
@Xanador1 many people died in Philippines in 1910 all who was 10 or older, their crime were have born Spaniard
This has to be sarcasm
@r2d23678 Maybe, but we have ALL included, I mean ALL,whatever you need, medicines also , I don´t have to argue or fight with any private company, and, most important thing, I don¨t have to see anybody around me suffering or dying because he/she don´t have assistance, That,s very important also, don,t you think?
(I,m not very fluent in English as you see)
bravo Europe
Yeah... our British ads are messed up
@JohnQuincyAdams1 i guess you were never in vietnam, 2 time iraq, afganistan...
@AmethystPersonality mate, u.s. is one of the most religious countries in the world
@VexingDaftJim1
man you're right.Actually You can't compare USA wth europe because Usa is a country,Europe is a continent
@CoctoRy so you claim that Belgium is central Europe? interesting.....
It Isn't About Money But It Is Saying If You Get A 300 Dollar Fine You May Start Wearing A Seat Belt And That Is Horrible Info You Need To Compare More Then One Piece Of Evidence
Put your Seatbelt on.......Americans :DDD
theres only one thing i know
if theres humans then theres war because from formal discussions start little fights and then it goes to wars.. and then the end of this world
so instead of having civil wars and trying to be kings of the world or b****ing around we should help each other and help the damage house in wich all live in because if we dont act together we will eventually die from our wars
@CHRISTOKONI
But in size and culture USA - Europe is the best comparison
yeah true, any reference to religion in government brings horrible disputes and offends people. so ridiculous.
To John QuincyAdams...
The USA started the Vietnam and the Iraq war directly. to name two. Through some of its policies it has caused other wars/
then how will people know both nations face massive number of car accidents they both have a police force that looks for people who don't drive safe but the police can't be every where so the best thing next were to put the message into people's heads
Personally?
I wear the seatbelt because I feel unsecured in the car without it.
The crash safety is also a reason.
I like more to think of the seatbelt as a device that doesn't permit the ejection of your dead body from the seat you were on, helping forensic identification purposes.
The European one is realistic.
Can YOU imagine being followed by a swarm of flying tickets?
I can't anyway.
if theyre telling you to buckle up so you dont get a ticket how are they trying to get money out of us. getting a ticket means you have to pay a fine or go to court. if you buckle up you wont get a ticket and have to pay.

Who the hell says they are from Europe?
Fuck the EU!
It is in the North East!
The idea of watching billions of Europeans being tortured for eternity is enticing enough that I almost wish I was Christian.
So, do you think Europe has only one religion?
you are talking about the british dude
Okey I will only speak for my own country (Estonia) - Freedom of press (2011-2012) Estonia 3th USA 47th, Mothers index (2011) Estonia 18th USA 31th, State of World Liberty Index (2006) Estonia 1st USA 8th.

Americans add is focused on money, Europe keeps it real.
hmm how about the US introducing cameras in cars by 2014 and face recognition systems being implemented nationwide or no swearing in songs or TV or maybe even that kid who made a joke on Facebook that ended in the FBI breaking into his house and arresting him for 1 year and a half as well as mobile phone calls being monitored...call that freedom

I don't care!
let's end the dispute here and just stop before this becomes a flame war
Agreed?
