  • Sally and Sandy are two Suffolk Standardbred Draft Cross mares. They are full sisters standing 14.2 hands tall and are 4 and 5 years old, respectively. These mares share a strong bond and have been together since birth. They were bred by a local Amish breeder with the goal of creating a strong and versatile horse suitable for farm work and riding. These mares were bred to a Suffolk stallion. Sadly, Sally lost her foal, while Sandy's foal, a 75% Suffolk stud colt named Bullet, will accompany them. This young team is well-trained and ready for their new home. Additionally, both mares are currently bred back to our registered Belgian stallion. This is a 5-in-1 package deal and is priced to sell. Don't miss out on this opportunity! If you are interested, please call me at (606) 303-5669. Please note that we do not respond to messages on Facebook or other platforms, so please reach out to us by phone if you are interested. Thank you

Sweet gentle mares. That young colt is gorgeous. My understanding is the mares are 50% Suffolk Punch and the colt is 75% Suffolk Punch as his sire was purebred Suffolk Punch. The Suffolk Punch horse breed is considered "endangered". There are fewer and fewer registered each year both here in the United States and in their country of origin, England. If you want to preserve a part of history, consider, ..... this team, if open (unbred) could be bred back to a purebred S.P. stallion, and get yourself some nice 3/4 S.P. babies. When the babies are old enough, breed them to a different S.P. stallion, get them DNA tested, voila ..., you could qualify for Suffolk Punch registry. At any rate, with proper DNA testing, ... both mares and the beautiful little colt, could qualify for the American Destrier (Medival War Horse) Registry "Now". Something to think about if you have the room to graze and the time to spend on trying to save a "dying breed" of horse. God Bless. - ACD
