If you’re still looking for suggestions and input, I’d love to see a video that covers various scenarios of a common task or situation that can lead to disaster; also what is the most stressful part of your day or the most difficult things about the medical sw job? I’m guessing it depends on the patients, co-workers and the morale but task wise and high stress environment what can be common stressors. Your advice to be highly organized is spot on for keeping stress levels controlled! Is being a hospital social worker a highly stressful job? I remember being part of the interdisciplinary team when working at Napa State Hospital, Sonoma Developmental Center, & St. Helena and thinking the job role of the social workers seemed more independent and leadership oriented. We both had a lot of patient contact but it was different and being in a psych hospital is night & day compared to a medical hospital right but I wondered what the most difficult challenges are. Also, I remember the whole interdisciplinary team would meet at the beginning of the shift and at the end. Is it like that in medical hospitals also?

The job of a hospital social worker can certainly look a little different depending what service you cover, when you cover and what city/state you work in.
