    Oh that creeping phlox on that rock wall must have been glorious in bloom ❤

      It was pretty but I never filmed it since it was overrun with weeds. I'm hopeful that next year it will be glorious and I can show it's true beauty. 😊💗

    Love somebody from my zone!!! Can’t watch all these 7 8 9 zones with everything blooming in may and june

      Thank you for that comment! I'm trying hard to walk around my yard and really see which perennials are blooming and move things around accordingly since there's a lull with blooms. Right now the Stella D'Oro daylilies are stealing the show, but I just grabbed a few Rose Campions from my plant nursery. I'm going to start adding more of those around my sunny flower beds since those bloom in late June also. I also like the fringe leaved bleeding heart and will also be moving those around. 😊💗🌻

    I’m always amazed at how well you know and remember each plants name.

    Beautiful looking garden, its the bees knees. I garden in Ireland and have been watering the flowerbeds with watering cans once a week for the last two weeks. We had rainy weather up to mid June and plants are lush and blooming well. We have been very lucky as gardeners in Ireland compared to gardeners in the states suffering from drought and bad flooding.

      Thanks so much. 😊 You definitely are lucky with how much rain you get. That is wonderful. This year, we are getting small spells of rain but then no rain for a long time. I have many areas set up on irrigation, but not all areas. My biggest challenge is keeping the hanging baskets and window boxes well-watered. Happy gardening, my friend! 🌸

    I am always amazed how large your garden is. My Shasta daisies are 18 inches tall. I'm looking for my envelope of tags. All I can remember my were a hybrid I got them at lows my are done blooming. Going to dead dead them. Want to see if I'll get a second blooming. Had a monster thunder storm blow through. I put out xl tubs to collect rain water. Plants love it. Been 3 weeks so many weeds. Rain woke them up.

      Thank you! I definitely took on more than I could chew when I went to town with planting things all around the yard. Now I need to go back and weed and clean up those areas. It's a process but it's a process that I do enjoy. It keeps me out of trouble anyway. 😉 I need to be better with doing the Chelsea Chop on plants that could benefit from it (such as the Shasta Daisies). 🌼

    You could run fishing line from tree to tree in back of your Hostas to keep the deer out. It works for me.

      Hi Colleen! Great idea. I will have to give this a try! Thank you for the suggestion. 🦌😊

    The pink flowers with the begonias you said you started look like Impatiens to me.

    I have the same guest coming to eat dinner in my garden.

    • @budgetgardeningvita
      @budgetgardeningvita  Před 2 měsíci

      Good thing those guests are so cute! I've heard sprinkling Irish Spring soap around Hosta plants helps deter deer. I did it once a few weeks ago. I will be doing it again in a week. Fingers crossed. Part of me doesn't want to fight the battle but the other part of me is not ready to surrender... 😅🦌

    Beautiful gardens! I'm in zone 5b and find your advice very helpful. I notice that in this video you talk about dividing perennials in June? Has that been successful for you over the long term? Do you divide Hosta in June? Hellebores? Thanks!

    • @budgetgardeningvita
      @budgetgardeningvita  Před 2 měsíci

      Thanks so much! I've been successful dividing perennials even during the summer months (including Hosta and Hellebores) as long as I supply ample water to those plants. Many of my gardens (even the ones where the lawn ends and woods begin) are setup on drip irrigation so that provides daily water to the plant divisions. If you do divide a plant during the summer, just be mindful of the water that you are giving it. I hope that helps. 💦🌸

    How do you keep slugs from your gorgeous Hosta?

    • @budgetgardeningvita
      @budgetgardeningvita  Před 2 měsíci

      I haven't treated any of my Hosta with anything in regards to keeping the slugs away. I'm surprised that the slugs haven't attacked them (yet). In other parts of my yard, however, the slugs are really doing a job on my plants. I'm looking into buying some Slug & Snail Bait. I've never had to put any down but this year the slugs are everywhere! 🐌😒
