I did Singapore to Melbourne and back on Scoot, and I also did Munich to Singapore on the way out and Singapore to Athens on my way home. Honestly, I was expecting much worse for how cheap it was. It wasn't the most comfortable experience, but it also wasn't "dear gods, never again" bad. The food was pretty decent so long as you remember to book it, they absolutely do not enforce the "no outside food" rule, and knowing in advance about the lack of in-flight entertainment meant I knew to bring my own. It admittedly was way less pleasant than the Lufthansa flight I got from the UK to Munich (which had in-flight entertainment, 2 meals and a pillow and blanket supplied - Scoot requires passengers to pre-order a pillow and blanket at an extra cost), but I'd say my Scoot flight was actually significantly nicer than my Jet2 flight from Athens back to the UK.

My personal commitments require me to travel between SG and JP frequently, sometimes I would fly to JP just for a weekend. I've only ever taken scoot because they're the cheapest I can find and while it's uncomfortable, I've never found it unbearable, even if I've been sitting on them for 6-7 hours each time. You pay for what you get. Scoot Silence has more legroom, and Scoot Biz has premium eco seats. That's usually the latter two for me, as I've never considered their baseline economy cabin.
I had a Business Class Scoot Flight from Brisbane to Singapore... WORST FLIGHT EVER, even Business Class Seats are so uncomfortable, the in-flight meal was a dry bowl if rice with a couple of lumps of chicken... No Inflight Entertainment... it was the worst... Never again!
Better than a bus or train.. Lol When I did that by land it wasn't exactly the same journey but about the same distance - maybe longer. From Taman Negara in Malaysia to the border - spent an hour trying to get through Thai immigration because the one official decided my passport stamps were messy (as if I have control of that) and he didn't know what a reentry permit was. Finally got through, had to walk quite a way to get to the nearest bus station. Then took a bus from the border to Phuket, wait 2 hours and then Phuket to Bangkok. The bus seats may recline, but they still weren't comfortable (luckily in the bkk journey I could lay on the floor). The two buses alone took about 24hours. I think I'd much rather have the slightly uncomfortable seats and no food in the Scoot budget section for a few hours, than do that again... Plus airport immigration is so much easier than that border crossing was!
Spirit Airlines has in my opinion the worst economy class! There is ridiculously little leg room; I’m not that tall; I’m only 5’7 & my knees were painfully pressed into the seat in front of me! The back row of seats doesn’t recline at all and they nickel & dime you for everything including charging for carry on bags☹️
This airline does the trick $100 Singapore to bali. You can beat that. Even if you pay for the leg room like airasia. Is pretty good for an Asian airline
Scoot is honestly not that bad. It's not great but it's basically the standard comfort of a bus ride. U dun go to mcdonald's and expect wagyu beef. But if you intend on sleeping or watching popular movies or just want a btr experience just play Singapore airline
Wonder if Ryanair would get ideas from them if they chose to fly long haul
This was a short hop, and Ryanair are excellent at that
My last flight with Scoot, it was delayed by six hours. The only thing we got was a meal voucher for 15 Singapore dollars 😅
All the airlines are like Greyhound buses anymore
I have flies scoot once and it’s safe to say that I don’t plan to fly them again unless they are my only option, it’s such a torture sitting position and the ticket isn’t even cheap
You pay for what you get. Scoot Silence has more legroom, and Scoot Biz has premium eco seats. That's usually the latter two for me, as I've never considered their baseline economy cabin.
As a Singaporean who has flown scoot a couple times,it is pure torture right there on long trips
Yikes, seats made from ironing boards! 😮
Not literally
Ryanair be taking notes 🤣
I had a Business Class Scoot Flight from Brisbane to Singapore... WORST FLIGHT EVER, even Business Class Seats are so uncomfortable, the in-flight meal was a dry bowl if rice with a couple of lumps of chicken... No Inflight Entertainment... it was the worst... Never again!
So the same as Spirit Air in the states?
I coughed when he said " aunty's ironing board"
Better than a bus or train.. Lol
When I did that by land it wasn't exactly the same journey but about the same distance - maybe longer.
Wow charging for power is wild. Cool lights though b
Flew with them in economy last year from Melbourne to Singapore and boy was it baaaaaad. The seats were Brocken and the food was simply not for humans
The Ryanair and Spirit of Asia is officially Scoot
This is kind of unfair don’t you think? It’s clearly stated as a low cost airline
If they get me and my luggage to my destination and back, I can’t complain already, but they’re definitely not the best budget airline 😂😂😂
This airline does the trick $100 Singapore to bali. You can beat that. Even if you pay for the leg room like airasia. Is pretty good for an Asian airline
Scoot is legitimately more comfortable than QANTAS.
That mood lighting looks sick
Budget Airline. Hence, NO full-fledge Economy standards.
try cebu pacific’s a330!
Scoot is honestly not that bad. It's not great but it's basically the standard comfort of a bus ride. U dun go to mcdonald's and expect wagyu beef. People will just call you stupid for not understanding what ur purchasing. Scoot provides affordable travel to many who can't afford more. Go fly a full service if ur phat exp butt can't deal with the seats.
