Del Mar, CA is a picturesque seaside hideaway located about 20 miles north of downtown San Diego. Defined by its exceptional year-round weather, sea salt lagoons on each end, fabulous beaches, world famous thoroughbred racetrack, fine dining and luxurious shopping, it is a dream destination to reside in as well as visit. With a total area of about 2 square miles, many of the fantastic attractions can be seen without the need for a car. Del Mar has the only beach in the country with specially designed wheel chairs for the sand so everyone can enjoy the shimmering coastal waters.
In addition to its beaches, Del Mar has become a favorite place for yearly events. Held annually since 1936, The Del Mar Fair has become a San Diego tradition. A year after the fair opened, the now famous racetrack was completed. For decades the racing season has brought the crowds to Del Mar including some of Hollywood's most elite. Del Mar is a truly wonderful place to live or visit any day and at any age.
