@heathermiddleton...his BP was probably too low too. I hope they straighten that out. My fiance has bradycardia and he has a pacemaker and it's set for 60 bpm. It was a game changer. I think Ralph's normal heart rate is around 40 or lower.

For the first 3 weeks, it would be hard for your dad. Getting app too quick, it's not a very good thing. Sometimes he has to sit on the side of his bed. Make sure that he's getting a lot of oxygen going to his brains. Things have things has to go slowly. Progress, not fast progress. If he has to go to bathroom that bad he could have a container and go in ithere's nothing wrong with that Montreal was not built-in the day. And one when people get all created on. After the sleep ageit's gonna take at least a week before it gets out of the system. I will pray for you for your recovery, but you have to take it easy. You can't go fast as you useat well sleep well, it takes it slower.🎉🎉❤❤

My brother was 63 when he had open heart surgery to replace his mitral valve. He ended up having to get a pacemaker, too. He was in the hospital longer due to contracting MRSA. Before he was isolated, he would walk the corridors using a walker. Please consider getting a walker while he is recuperating. Best wishes 🌸

All them medicine can do crazy side effect if you aren't used to it. Having the "runs" from medicine can make you dehydrated quick. It happens. Takes time for doctors find medicine that help and try different ones with less side effects. Been there. Dehydration is no fun. Has is own set of nasty consequences. Light head an see stars, pass out, dry heaves you name it. Electrolytes drinks is my friends. God bless everyone that struggles with this 🙏❤️

I know all of you are concerned with Grandpa's weight loss, but it's very normal, when I was in a coma I lost down to 65lbs from 138. Everyone keep praying it works, Grandpa never give up! 🙏🙏🙏
Matt, Thank you for sharing the news about your dad, I am so sorry to hear that grandpa has had a fall. I am sure Grandma was very worried . Thankfully Kyle was able to help getting him up and to the hospital. In yesterday’s video Ralph looked like he had lost quite a few pounds. Your parents have raised three wonderful men and I want to thank all three of you for being there for them anytime they need you. Prayers for all the Doss family members.

My husband had a quadruple bypass 11 years ago. A week after being home, we we in the ER for lightheadedness and weekness. They cut 1 med in half. As the healing progressed his BP was too low! Ofcourse ongoing prayers!

Sorry to hear that your Dad got lightheaded and fell today. Loosing 20 lbs in a short period of time can make you quite dizzy. He is a brave man and is healing well from his surgery just that stomach issues are difficult. Your Mom is amazing and we all love her too. Sending prayers for his speedy recovery. I received my red heart pillow in November 2023, I am a very independent woman & don’t like to bother anyone (family) for help or assistance. I would like to suggest one of the walkers that has a seat to sit down when I got dizzy or light headed. I got one in May 2023 when I got very sick & passed out at home & lost a day because I couldn’t get up, then spent a week in the hospital marked as a fall risk. They would not let me go home without the walker. I only had to use it for a short time, but I did use it after my bypass surgery just to keep me from falling. I no longer use it (or the cane I use at uneven parking lots). It also gave me a seat to sit on to catch my breath & get my bearings again. I am praying for you all in the time. God bless y’all.

Bless him, his BP is too low. It takes months to get used to a slower pulse and lower BP, sometimes the med's need tweaking to allow to be a bit higher. It's a challenge and hope it doesn't get him upset. The balance will be found ❤ Hugs from 🇨🇦
I must admit to watching the last video already. It was so comforting to see your daddy. I hope he will use the lift chair to avoid anymore hypotensive events. It's hard for a person as they age to slow down. Just think about it...we are taught to be independent and work hard in life then all the sudden we are older and we are expected to slow down. It just goes against everything we were used to. But we have to help each other to do what's best. I love you all dearly and you are always in my prayers. Matt, with this update, I marveled at how well God has led your family, and how well you all listen. If you had not felt led to quit your job and learn the animals and video editing, the burden of animalcare would have been so much heavier on your parents. With all of you being content creators, you all have the flexibility to help your parents during both medical situations with anything they needed….like you making sure the house was ready for their return. What a wonderful act of love, made possible by your job switch, made possible by you responding to God’s leading. It takes months to get used to a slower pulse and lower BP, sometimes the med's need tweaking to allow to be a bit higher.
It's a challenge and hope it doesn't get him upset.

I must admit to watching the last video already. It was so comforting to see your daddy. I hope he will use the lift chair to avoid anymore hypotensive events. It's hard for a person as they age to slow down. Just think about it...we are taught to be independent and work hard in life then all the sudden we are older and we are expected to slow down. It just goes against everything we were used to. But we have to help each other to do what's best. I love you all dearly and you are always in my prayers. You have done so much Matt...I am so very proud of you! Thank you good and faithful son. Blessings~

Yes, bumps in the road were well said! Your father is a very, strong man.... physical and mentally. I can only imagine how all of this surgery, recovering, stuff has rocked his world! I'm sure he has a hard time, with mom (LeeAnn/Grandma) taking care of him, every waking moment! Matt, you too are tough as your father! Stress is awful, worrying what can go wrong or even right....we are all thinking of the wonderful Doss Family! God is taking care of your father, we will all continue to "Pray On" as praying is a wonderful power we must use! Father we lift up Grandpa Ralph, Grandma LeaAnn and the family. We trust You to guide the Dr's and show them what Grandpa needs and that You will see to it that Shalom is restored to Grandpa's body. Hi Matt sorry about Grandpa glad you was there to fed the animals and Kyle was able to help Grandma get Grandpa to the ER our prayers go out for you all. Glad Grandpa is ok after the fall. The devil attacks us at times when we are down. Our prayers go out to the Doctors and Nurses who are going to look after Grandpa, we send lots of hugs and kisses. It's a slow recovery for people with heart surgery. Lots of upside but some downs. We are all praying for grampa. 🙏🏼
Thank you Matt for the update on your Dad.. it was nice to see him in the video yesterday… sorry to hear he got lightheaded, that’s normal, it happened to my Mom after she came home from her open heart surgery. Hopefully they’ll figure out the right meds for him cuz that’s what helped Mom. I haven’t stopped🙏🏻Praying for a full recovery for him, & will continue.

Matt, with this update, I marveled at how well God has led your family, and how well you all listen. If you had not felt led to quit your job and learn the animals and video editing, the burden of animalcare would have been so much heavier on your parents. With all of you being content creators, you all have the flexibility to help your parents during both medical situations with anything they needed….like you making sure the house was ready for their return. What a wonderful act of love, made possible by your job switch, made possible by you responding to God’s leading. The timing of how God led each Doss family member has culminated in a beautiful smooth-running way when lead dog Ralph has an unexpected side journey.
