That might actually be why the bug even exists in the first place. It might be something related to the Phantom.
It might be related to the fact the enderman race has +1 block of reach
You could make a secret door with this. Place a strider/horse/pig behind a wall and then ride it through the wall, since it’s not just hitting you can interact in any way (Ranboo picked up the Axolotl with a bucket)
also, minecart chests in walls will be a secret chest that only he can enter

I appreciate that you cut to Fundy and Niki's perspective of them experiencing it as well.
There's also a clip of tubbo punching nikki through the glass in the pub- so it's more likely a problem with the version or origins that causes it to happen rather than ranboo's extra reach or with axolotl models

I guess it's probably because they had to change player's size for origins like Sneeg's or Fundy's. The hitboxes were written in the way to not interact properly with blocks so that they could normally move, but the same script cancels the interaction with the block and allows players to interact with other entities through blocks. At least that's how far I know from programmer's eye. The best solution would probably to change the hitboxes from different entities. They might not be intact but would help fix this bug.
That's where my knowledge stops. I am not an expert into this stuff so I won't say anything, it's just a theory. A GAME THEORY! Thanks for reading.
no, this is a glitch with 1.17.1 itself it happened on an smp i was on, were people could hit thru the glass panes and glass any other block used as windows (like solid blocks, fences and fence gates) stopped it. (Edit i saw more of the video and they were able to hit thru normal blocks, so i guess you were kind off right)

Well, his origin does have extra reach and it could be due to the fact that it needs to work with entities too and what happens when someone is facing a block minecraft sets their reach distance to however far that block is and then the origin is adding to that so he can grab the axolotl.
True, it can be that also but it doesnt really give an explaination how people on the smp i was on could also hit thru the glass panes (+we werent using any mods so idk)

They must have been trying to make the phantom a bit better but accidentally made it for everyone

This was already known cus tubbo hit him on the roof before he was up there and Fundy punched niki through the glass on the first day. Just server lag
How would that be server lag? It's not a time desync, and it's the client that needs to think there's nothing blocking, not the server

@@ITR the server doesn’t have time to manage that it’s a block in the way so when the entity is in range it doesn’t register that it’s blocked off and can’t be hit. Same as it doesn’t have time to register that it’s the same items and won’t stack
when you realize that the chest in a minecart it's an entity and the bug work with them :O
multiple people hit nicki through the glass in her tank but were just confused or thought the had extra reach

I played this origin before, due to the reach box being extended, you can throw ender pearls through blocks.

From my knowledge, this has been a thing since 2018, it was probably patched in normal Minecraft and didn't get talked about, but maybe it continued to mods and stuff because it happens with every mod I have used.
He really just picked the person with the tiniest hit box in the game
