    Givenchy Gentleman Givenchy Review
    Here finally is my video for Givenchy Gentleman Givenchy Review. This is my Gentleman Givenchy by Givenchy fragrance review. Once again a fragrance that's not so original has been launched by Givenchy and find out all about what I think of Gentleman Givenchy by Givenchy in this video. I was expecting so much from this fragrance but it just doesn't deliver. In Gentleman Givenchy we have pear note which is sort of new in recent fragrances which I find sort of unique although I find the smell of pears not so bold it's just soft smell very mellow but it's nice here you can smell it and that's it at the top which takes to the heart and there is where you get a creamy, buttery powdery orris note with lavender. The lavender is quite tame here not so strong. And finally the Gentleman Givenchy dries down to a leathery patchouli. Does this sound familiar? Dior Homme anyone? Watch to find out more about Gentleman Givenchy and LVMH fragrances and the original Givenchy Gentleman.

    I tried it and I liked it, the smell is relaxing for me. Very safe for everyday use, I also like the EDP version, it is more formal for colder weather.

    I prefer this Givenchy to Dior homme, to much of a makeup scent. PS: pears are better than apples 😒

      Different strokes for different folks. I have Dior Homme, Homme Sport, and Cologne, and of the three, I like the Cologne the best and Sport second best. I like this Givenchy Gentleman better than Homme. I agree Homme is too much of a makeup scent and I'll be getting rid of it. Gentleman doesn't wow me, but I think it's nice and classy. I don't find it "young young young" as was described here. I have to say though you have very good reviews and I usually agree with you!

    I've always had and enjoyed Givenchy in my collection. Gentlemen only intense has the wow factor for me. It's something that James Bond would wear imo. I would love to try this one out. Thanks from Dallas.

    I prefer this to Dior Homme. Nothing too complex but worthy of testing and if you like it enough, buying a bottle or some decant. My favourite is Givenchy Pour Homme, eversince it's release and I also like Fresh Attitude, a flanker of Very Irresistible.Just picked up Insensé Ultramarine which didn't impress me much and I got Gentlemen Only Absolute which I have to test!

  • @Chris6815

    Givenchy Play was my first premium cologne that I ever had. I loved it and thought it smelled great. I even had people compliment me and wanted to know what I was wearing,etc. I ran out of it and tried to purchase more only to find that it was discontinued and expensive. I ended up buying Gentlemen Only edt. Which I like but performance seems a bit lacking. I also bought Gentleman Intense and the EDP. I also bought a sample of the Reserve Privee. The EDP is probably my favorite. To me it’s more wearable than the Privee.

    Your review sums up my view about Givenchy fragrances. Being an 80s guy i really want to like this house but they do let me down. I did try a few of them, i like especially Gentleman Only Casual Chic but the performance and longevity is poor. They do smell good but nothing amazing

    Thanks for posting this. Great review. I have to say--I am literally devastated that they have destroyed the classic Givenchy Gentleman. I have loved it since the 1970s, and thought it has been somewhat reformulated over the years--it still retained much of it's original scent, and you could close your eyes and say "ah yes--Givenchy Gentleman." This new fragrance is such a disappointment and is not worthy of the prestigious name of Givenchy. I am so upset by this, as I just recently discovered they did this to my favorite cologne. I really hate it, (tried it recently at a local department store) and will not purchase it...It seems in the last 20 years, so many of the classic things that were a part of my life have disappeared. Through all the changes of my life, I had a few mainstays that were constant, and Givenchy Gentleman was one of them...Now it seems that is going away too...I know it may sound strange, but I am truly grieving this loss. Thanks for your review--I am glad to hear that I am not imagining this change--that it really has occurred and someone is telling it as it is.

      I'm sure you've learned since posting this that Givenchy Gentleman is still available, which is great. I've just discovered this fragrance line and am thinking of making this 2017 release my signature scent. The opening is a nod to the past and the dry down is safe and versatile. Dumb reach for me.

    I can find the same perfumes with 40% off in the small shops .But i notice they r less fresh just like packed spices versus just blended spices.. does it really matter the freshness in the perfumes? In terms of projection and performance ?!

    I'm curious to try this since I love Dior Homme. I do like pear, though I prefer other fruits, like dates, apple, plum, mango, pineapple, among others. I'm in MI.
    But god, why use the same exact name and bottle as the original Gentleman if it has no relation to it? It admittedly comes across as trying to make laziness look abstract and clever. At least Sauvage has a different bottle, though I wish Dior would have chosen a different name for that too. Givenchy has some gems (Monsieur- my favorite Givenchy scent, Gentleman, or Xeryus). Even Pi, which I don't wear because it's just too cloying, was pretty distinct and original. I do think their more recent releases are pleasant, but ultimately nothing notable.

    Maybe they needed to boost sales? I remember how hyped up this brand was back in 2010 with all those studs and 500+ bucks printed t shirts but I don't know if they are doing so well now. All of these fashion brands need to find a way to stay afloat and I guess perfume is a form of bread & butter. Of course I am assuming Givenchy is directing their fragrances or is it a purely licensing deal?

    • @ThePerfumeGuy
      @ThePerfumeGuy  Před 7 lety +3

      Yes perfume is a way for these brands to make a lot of money. The people that normally can't afford the actual clothing can and will be able to afford the fragrances so they appeal to those folks. At least that is what I think! Thank you for stopping by! :)
