      To be quite honest, my best experience has been with the Riu Palace, specifically the Costa mujeres all inclusive resort. Riu palace Las Americas also is great. My experience with Riu Palace has been far greater and pleasurable than this one @ TRS Coral resort.
      One thing you should also keep in mind is that there is currently a large amount of seaweed close to the Cancun beaches and shores. From what has been monitored, the majority tends to be in the southern part of the coast (towards Tulum). You can view this FB page that monitors the seaweed situation in Cancun : facebook.com/RedSargazo/

    Would you recommend travelling during the first week of September? And when you went, what currency were you using to pay for the spa, paddle board, tipping, and other things? Sorry if it’s a dumb question

    • @loncherita.diaries
      @loncherita.diaries  Před rokem

      Hello! I believe that hurricane season is still going on during the month of September. I did a bit of research and the chances of your vacation being impacted by one are slim, though. So id say you'd be good going during the month of September. Personally, I've never went during that month but id say youd be fine in terms of the weather.
      I paid using my credit card (a US bank credit card), but they accept USD and Mexican pesos at the spa. The paddle board activity was free but any place or activity at the resort that you have to pay for can be paid in USD. Id highly encourage you to tip in USD (which is what I did) so that you can easily keep track of how much you are tipping. Now if you plan on going outside of the resort, most likely they will not take USD and you will have to pay with the Mexican peso
      No worries at all! All of those are great questions and I hope this has helped you out. Safe travels.

    How long did you stay at TRS? I have my first ever visit to MX resort scheduled there for Oct. 24-28, 2022. I definitely want to avoid the timeshare spiel. What other resort (that is nice for that price) did you have better service?

    • @loncherita.diaries
      @loncherita.diaries  Před rokem +1

      Thank you for your comment! We stayed there for 7 nights! They will ask you if you would like to attend the timeshare conversation, but will try to sweeten the deal by offering spa coupons and other incentives for doing so.
      We’ve stayed at RIU palace that was slightly cheaper and much better customer service, imo. Although, TRS does have a more luxury feel to it. Definitely worth looking at that option for any future trips.
      You will have a blast regardless! Enjoy the stay and safe travels!!

      @loncherita.diaries  Před 2 lety +1

      Hello! Yes, with the exception of some lunch a la carte restaurants (Helios and Capricho did not require reservations).
      Unfortunately, we did not get an opportunity to experience the Chic Cabaret, which is one of their most popular spots to get a bite to eat and enjoy the night show. This was due to the the place being completely booked (per our butler) for the week that we were there for.
      My suggestion is this: if you plan on going to the Chic Cabaret, contact TRS Coral Resort to see if they can make the reservation ASAP. That way you don't have the same problem we had with not being able to book a spot for the experience.

    • @loncherita.diaries
      @loncherita.diaries  Před 2 lety +4

      Hello! I always make it a point to book the transportation ahead of time for a couple reasons.
      1. It can be overwhelming once you arrive at the Cancun airport due to the sheer amount of people offering services (taxi, activities, tours, etc.).
      2. The locals can spot tourists a mile away and although I've personally have not experienced it, you could get different rates because of that.
      My suggestion would be to book a transportation service through a trusted 3rd party ahead of time (I always use Expedia). The trusted 3rd party should provide instructions before booking or email you with instructions and meeting points. The rate of that can range from $20-60 USD (depending on the company) but totally worth it imo.

      @loncherita.diaries  Před 2 lety +3

      Hola! Gracias por su commentario :)
      Comparado a otros adult only resorts, tal vez no sea tan caro. Creo que el simple hecho de que sea un resort de adults only, lo hace un poco mas costoso que un resort para todos/familiar.
      Si fui al lado de Palladium pero nada mas para ver los shows de noche, visitar los bars, y para ver los puestos que ponen en la noche donde venden artesanías. Pero la mayoría del tiempo nos quedamos en la parte de TRS (el lado adulto).
      The best experience that I have had has been with Riu Palace Costa Mujeres. Their buffet was unmatched and the food was as authentic as it can get in resorts. Their customer service was immaculate. So id say that Riu Palace Costa Mujeres is definitely worth checking out!
      This was our experience and we wanted to share both the good AND the bad! I don't think it would be fair to only include the good (or the bad) and give the audience a false perception of the experience :)

      By staying at the TRS side of the resort, you are given access to the Grand Palladium side also. The TRS side also is an adult only zone, which was a huge plus for us. You get access to all of the restaurants, activities, and amenities on that side also.
      If you stay at the grand palladium side, you won’t have access to the things on the other side of the resort (TRS). I’d say it all depends on what type of experience you want and who you are going with. If you have a family, then the clearer choice would be Grand Palladium.
