"For the next Iron-Man, I trust you. -T.S"
Spider-Man is a hero of mine since days I can't even remember. Raimi's movies were the first time I've met Peter Parker. Having this hero in the MCU was the cherry on the top of the cake, and whatever happen I'll be forever grateful.
This video is dedicated to my dear friend : / @thetranzzz

Each Spider-Man was unique in their own way. Toby perfected Peter Parker by making him a real person with real problems, making you see the man behind the mask. Andrew perfected Spider-Man by making his powers give Peter confidence to be who he wants to be, the guy who gets the girl, the scientist who lives up to his fathers legacy, and the hero his uncle wanted him to be. Tom was something different, because he already lived in a world with heroes, so his version of Peter Parker was the kid trying to prove himself, and later trying to live up to the legacy that Tony Stark left behind.

    • @hartfantom
      @hartfantom Před 4 lety +274

Pendrop Gaming I think you have Tom wrong. It isn’t living up to the legacy of iron man. It’s general concept is learning how to be the worlds spiderman. Letting the world know that another hero can be just as important as any other. Letting the world know that when it needs a hero, a spiderman can be called. Toms spidey is struggling to be SPIDERMAN. For once being peter Parker is not the struggle. Being spiderman is because being spiderman to Peter doesn’t feel as necessary because of there being other heroes. Peter undermines spiderman, because he believes the world does not need him.

Because people keep blinding themselves with nostalgia and dismissing all other versions as if McGuire is the one and only... appreciate them all because they all bring something different to the table. I personally love Andrew Garfield Spidey as much as the others and have watched all renditions of Spidey countless times. I am a Spider-Man die hard and whole heartedly accept all 3.

@@nikhiljadhav1837 Happy is basically saying that superheroes that Peter idolizes have flaws and imperfections. Tony Stark was flawed, fallible, and doubted himself just like Peter does. All the people Peter’s been putting on the pedestal are people too. That’s essentially what Happy tells him. All Peter can really do is get back up, go back out there, try his best, and create a legacy of his own. Tony always wanted Peter to be better than he was, and Peter can do that. Spider-Man can leave behind a legacy that can overshadow Captain America and Iron Man’s legacy. Kevin Fiege is building Peter Parker up to be the greatest superhero the MCU has ever seen. Peter being “the next Iron Man” doesn’t mean he’s literally going to be Iron Man. What that means is that Spider-Man is gonna be the next big hero just like Iron Man was. Iron Man was the face of the MCU, and now Spider-Man is gonna be the new face of the MCU. Stark was the godfather of the MCU, and now Parker is the son of the MCU

I think the line "You're not Ironman, you're never gonna be Ironman. Nobody could live up to Tony, not even Tony" really showcases that he finally realizes that he doesn't have to be tony to be a hero, Tony didn't leave the note with EDITH because he wanted Peter to be him but because he wanted Peter to be one of the best

I like that all the Spider-Men have different origins, and Tom's is especially unique because we've all seen the "I was bit by a spider, my uncle died, I made a spandex suit and now I'm the one and only Spider-Man" story twice, so it's kinda refreshing to see MCU Peter be someone who was thrust into a world of heroes trying to prove he could be one too, trying to live up to one of the greatest heroes legacies, recognising he needs to be his own hero, eventually losing it all - basically going backwards to reach what the other Spider-Men had. He went from support and technology to basic homemade suit and essentially loneliness - but I think it's heartbreakingly beautiful, and personally can't wait to see where his new chapter takes him.

When at Spider-Man’s unique character arc within the MCU, it’s becoming more and more apparent how both those two films are heavily based on the early works of Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in showing the different phases Peter has as he grew up
In Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Peter was still a boy. He's going around solving low level crimes, he's immature, impatient, childish, and very new to everything. His double life isn't dramatic, it's therapeutic and it’s comedic. He keeps losing his backpack, he gets caught in his Spidey suit, his shenanigans lead him to getting detention, and had his tech suit taken away, which is equivalent to a parent taking away their kid’s phone. The world is constantly beating him to his knees and his sense of self worth as a superhero is based on the Avengers (mostly Tony Stark). It isn't until he's in the rubble that he starts to look inward calling on his strength as Spider-Man to save himself because he isn't defined by a fancy suit, he's defined by his actions. It’s where he truly becomes Spider-Man
In Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), Peter is starting to fully transition out of boyhood and becomes a young man. He has let go of his first crush and has moved onto a new love he finds in MJ, not because of how she looks or vague descriptions of her just being "the best", but because he likes who she is as a person. He is now in a world where the heroes are scattered as the Avengers appear to be disbanded after the 5 year gap and the events of Endgame. But he's still trying to hold onto a few things by looking for some other hero to look up to so he can have guidance. He has grown out of his desire to be in the big leagues because he's seen the kind of struggle that brings, and his self doubt makes him feel like he isn't up to the challenge. He isn’t quitting being Spider-Man out of fear, he is just trying to remain the rookie he was when Tony first recruited him because the times were much simpler back than (we've all had moments when we wish we could go back to being kids, less responsibilities, etc). It isn't until he learns Mysterio is a fraud and is given words of affirmation from Happy regarding the pedestal the world (Peter included) put Tony on, that he rises to the challenge and proves his capabilities not only to others, but to himself. Happy basically explains to Peter Parker that the superheroes that he idolizes (specifically Stark) have flaws and imperfections as well. Tony Stark was flawed, fallible, and struggles with self-doubt much like Peter. The whole point of “the next Iron Man” thing isn’t for Peter to literally become Iron Man, but they want to make Spider-Man as popular of a superhero as Iron Man once was. Kevin Fiege is building Spider-Man up to be the greatest superhero the MCU has ever seen. Spider-Man will create a legacy of his own that’ll eventually overshadow Captain America and Iron Man’s legacies. That’s what the whole movie is about. Iron Man was the face of the MCU, and now Spider-Man is the new face of the MCU. He wasn't alongside other heroes facing the drone army, he was on his own, he used his own intuition, and his own natural superpowers bested upon him from that fateful spider bite to defeat Mysterio and save the day, reigning absolutely victorious.
From what we can see in this year’s Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), Peter's life is becoming more and more dramatic. The consequences he faces have gone from detention to being framed for murder. His double life is now becoming more conflicting as he tries to hang onto the few good things he's gotten (I have a feeling the end of the movie will have Strange complete the spell properly and the entire world forgets his identity, including his friends and Aunt May). He even starts to step away from saying "sir" because he is no longer the rookie. He has proven his worth and his place among the hero community, he is facing bigger enemies, and he is facing it alone (for the most part).
There is a clear arc for MCU Peter as we watch him grow from a boy to a (Spider-) man. And it’s annoying as hell when people call him “Iron Boy Jr” just because Spidey wasn’t in his prime (physically and mentally) immediately after becoming Spider-Man. While I disagree with some changes they made with the character, I freaking love MCU Spider-Man. His character arc is just awesome to me. Marvel & Sony are actually taking their time to develop their Spider-Man into the Spider-Man we know and love. And depending on how No Way Home performs this Christmas, we can be assured that his fun hero adventures will continue in his possible second trilogy.

I realized that Tom Holland was the best live action spiderman (or maybe literally even the best spiderman overall) because he managed to portray the child that Peter Parker actually was. He's someone that doesn't have to do the things he does, he's someone who didn't need to have the weight of the world on his shoulders.
He captured that image of someone who is so scared of the world and everything, but he chooses to continue to move on (even when it's not his fight) I cried a lot in the first spiderman. Especially when he was underneath all that rubble, crying for someone to help him. Because people often forget that Peter Parker is just a kid. And the fact that he can get up and save the day again and again, is amazing.
His performance in Infinity War, once again, although his part was so little, he made the audience cry with his departure. "I don't want to go" he's just a kid, he has so much left, he's scared and that's fine. Although he got up everyday to fight baddies, the honest truth is that he never thought he'd actually be dying. And that's because Peter's just a kid and I'm glad that was portrayed well.
In Far From Home, the whole time I was just begging for the MCU to protect him, because Gosh, the grief and fear he has is so real now that Tony's gone.
This poor boi, I don't want him to cry or suffer anymore. Just let him be happy :( imma crei bye

Tobey’s Spider-Man is great without any heroes in it. In an Avengers world, a kid with superpowers would look up to heroes in that world and want to be like them. To me, Tom Holland plays the character perfectly and is the best live action Spider-Man, despite the changes made. It’s a shame we’ll never get to see this Spider-Man again, but I enjoyed every second he was in the MCU. Great work, Slyfer
