haha, had to laugh so hard "I'm getting married this year... I'm reading two books, one on "marriage", one on "suffering". Congratiolations on the engagement!!! My great-grandpartens told my grandparents, who always told us, that is important not to go to bed angry with each other. So you can fight, you can have differences, but before you go to bed, you have to communicate, address the issue, try to understand the other's perspective and thus work on your relationship together. Worked for them, works for us :D Wishing you all the best!

When I got engaged, I created a “marriage readiness” program. I teach college interpersonal classes and I still wanted to do the marriage bootcamp at church. The group leaders are the pre-decided marriage mentors who will referee if we can’t figure out the big things on our own.

Wow this is so awesome and inspiring! As a fellow Christian I completely understand where you’re coming from about Christians having the tendency to shame each other or point out things that they think aren’t being done right. But at the end of the day as long as you’re loving God and loving others by living out the Gospel and representing/showing Christ to the world whenever you can, then you’re fulfilling the calling of a Christian. Jesus died so that we can be free from sin and shame and have an eternal relationship with Him, doesn’t mean we’ll always get it perfect, but we desire to be obedient to His Will.

I found your channel this week and I'm loving it! When I got married in 2013 and when my son was born in 2019, I read some books and took counseling at our church. It was great and helped a lot. Now my husband and I have mentored an engaged couple and it strenghted our relationship even more! Of course life takes unexpected turns, but if you don't prepare everything is unexpected. If I may suggest a book, Gary Chapman's 'Things I wishh I'd known before we got married' is really nice.

The book "Love and Respect" by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs was so good and has really helped my husband and my marriage. Highly recommend! It's also Christian and Biblical based. We're in our 20s and have been married 7 years :)

I've found that if you are sitting and are struggling to sit up strait, put one (or both if you want) in the air, just slightly above the ground. It helps at least for me.
