** SPOILERS **
Our rankings explained.
Without revealing player or team names (in case someone reads a spoiler before actually watching), I'll highlight just how important and/or difficult some of these rounds were in order to further communicate our decisions. Inevitably, there will be those that disagree, which is perfectly acceptable. Hopefully this will allow you to better understand our placements before telling us we're wrong.
#5 This round embodies what clutch is. Alone against the best players in the world, yet in complete control from start to finish. The game may have been lost, but this clutch was still the defining moment of the tournament, and this player's career. A perfect combination of skill, intellect and patience during the second map of a very close CPL final.
#4 Amazing. Just wonder -- what if they had won? We're not sure anyone could deny it the number one spot in a list such as this if that were the case. Sadly, losing as bad as they did almost makes it meaningless in a sense, if not for perhaps the most memorable commentating in history.
#3 It's hard to fully explain how sensational this round is beyond just the brilliant play. While starting on one of the hardest sides of any current map to play, he earns his team two eco's, and control of the money system for potentially the entire half. It removes the dangerously real potential of being rolled in the half with a score like 13-2, guaranteeing the opportunity to reach at least gun rounds on the favorable side, even if you end up losing the next pistol. Perhaps most importantly, it puts a dagger directly into the opponents back and morale. Those who remember ESWC 2003, specifically zEx vs SK, understand vividly the weight carried by such a round win.
#2 Maybe the simplest, yet most jaw dropping clutch ever. The only round in CS history to receive a tagline. This may not have taken place in a final or semi-final, but it was integral in creating one of the most notorious upsets in CS history. When we look back on the impact and scale of events in counter-strike, this is perhaps the game's most defining moment.
#1 While number three may have had an incredible impact on an entire match, this round impacted a teams entire future, effecting the landscape of our game's storied history. This single round win, leading to a tournament championship, instigated a chain of events that would cause a legendary roster shakeup. In turn, new rivalries would be forged, new stars born, and the faces that had practically ruled the scene since day one would relinquish their crown, and begin an unexpected descent toward retirement.

There were a lot of rounds fans brought up while waiting for part 2 to be released. Here are the rounds that weren't included, and why.
Neo vs NiP, 1v2 1hp -- As you can tell, this list was heavily weighted by importance and impact. This round having taken place during a Clanbase match (online) lacked the significance to be considered.
Ave vs Na'Vi, 1v3 deagle one deags -- The production on the movie was almost entirely done by the time this beautiful round happened, and we didn't anticipate demos being released, or a high quality stream cut. There's an extremely high likelihood it would've made the top 10.
f0rest vs eSTRO, HeatoN vs 4K -- Neither of these rounds were actually 1vX, with their first kill taking place with at least 1 teammate alive. - Hry
walle's clutch is still my fav.
1. Ave 1v3 vs NaVi armed with only a Deagle WCG final
2. NEO 1v3 vs NoA ESWC final
3. Moto pistol clutch vs SK
4. Walle 1v5 vs Pentagram WCG final
5. Zonic 1v5 vs H2k Dreamhack
I think #3 is the best: it's the archetypal clutch - winning in a situation where the odds are against you in every way:
(1) Complexity are terrorists on de_train, probably the most CT sided map in the history of the game since de_aztec.
(2) tr1p is on his own against two fully armed CTs storming into the site, armed with only a pistol.
As for the play itself, I think it's as close to perfection as you can come in the game: he played the situation in precisely the way that minimized his chances of losing the round. A lot of people rate clutches that involve sharp shooting and bullshit shots, but more often than not, these are low-percentage plays. If you put the same players in the same situation multiple times, they would be hard pressed to pull it off again - there are just too many variables (for one, the enemy has to miss all their shots, and you have to hit yours).
tr1p's clutch removed this element of chance. By using clever positioning, good use of the bomb timer, and calm decision making, he was able to outsmart the CTs and do just enough to win the round for his team.
I wish i knew of PC gaming when i was younger...
I wish i was older when the walle's klutch happened.
Thanks for all the commentating you've done over the years Vansilli!
To refresh your memory austintownley: Some official of WSVG asked aTTaX if they could leave earlier. He didn't expect them to "survive" the first day at WSVG (He told that story at the award show). The goal of the team itself was to win one match and some sightseeing in NY. 3 days of practice after massive lineupchanges 6 months and immediatly before the tournament. Midway said after the win "nobody thought they would win a match". But your're right, it wasn't a big upset, you knew that before.
#1 can't be #1 when all they had to do was pick up the bomb, type "lol see ya ;)" into chat, and plant it anywhere...
all of the top three are sick moments
FIRST NAME SONG IS ... Clint Mansell - Welcome to Lunar Industries (Three Year Stretch)
#2 - OMG, 1 vs 1 is not a clutch.
Clutch is all about the importance and decision making not amount of frags.
You realise the term 'Clutch' is not exclusive to counter-strike right? It's been around for a while.
This is great!! Please make more :) greetings from norway
random piece of trivia: the moto box clutch was from a condition zero tournament, not 1.6
TOP 3 FROM USA. I WONDER WHY
Thank you dude.
Walle's ace is great example of how the game changed since then.Nowadays in CS:GO,cts would already rotate one player to A site to prevent something like this to happen
I agree with the criteria you came up with. Winning difficult rounds like that when there's that much on the line: that's when you show them you got balls.
Doing something easy like tying your shoelaces isn't easy anymore when someone holds a gun to your head.
Please Ignore the haters it was a fun video to watch and brings back memories! Golden age of CS back in those days.
great video i like it more pls
ignore the haters, KEEP MAKING MORE VIDEOS! Cant wait for a top 10 all around players and top 20 teams !
completely agree, post 2006 is the best CS ever. Pentagram and NaVi took CS to new levels and we love them for that and much more.
ur vdo is great can u please tell me wat movie making software u use
@austintownley English is not my mothertongue, so when it's said "an upset has been created" about Sunman's 1on1, I get kinda of lost about its meaning. Does it mean people started rumoring about his wallbang kill? What did people say?
Peace, thanks.
me salió en recomendados está joya
your voice is soooo great! :D
@JonteIRL för att heatons runda inte är en clutch, vad är det du inte förstår?
No heaton vs 4K? That must be the MOST famous round EVER.
Note that #1 led to the retirement of Potti, the top CS player in the world at that time
Can anyone tell me the size and the commands to make my crosshair looks like on the video?:D
whats the song in the background
Yea, what's the name of the first song?
they need to make a Clutch 3 the movie with clutches now days
AMAZING MOTO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LoL When Walle gets the ace the commentator goes in to puberty xD
Name of First Background music please?
Where is HeatoN's classic round vs 4kings?
#3 I was watching that live ;P
@kavePizzaHunter he choose these videos more specifically for the more overall impact of the round. Like not only being ground breaking, but starts real life changes as well.
song?
your voice is soooo great! :D ddd
I can't believe even CS proffesionals dont know that the speed of the knife and the pistols are the same
you guys have aim cursor on awp?
как Называется имя Первой Музыки? First NAME SonG Please !! ПЛИИИЗЗЗЗ!! PLEASEEE!!
PLEASE!!
I'm glad a Canadian made it on this list :) I never here of too many Canadian CS players..
shaGuar :)
theres plenty in GO
+johntravolta Shag more famous for playing poker now. Won $1 Million after winning Season 1 of The Shark Cage.
@NeCtRiCkS to 'create an upset' means to defy the odds, i.e. for some person/team that is expected to lose to 'create an upset' and actually win.
hth
first music?
Last frag was CS:CZ.
The bomb looked like a potato in 1.6 lmao
+Newb Hunter, or are you the one who's really being hunted by newb hunters?
@erniesyazwanie Id have to agree with Austintownley in his choice for #1. While walle's round was amazing thats all it was. An amazing round. Moto's round helped dissolve the 03 SK.swe team one of the greatest of all time and ultimately changing CS history. The rankings were on overall impact to the game, not just fraging ability.
#3 is the best IMO.
First Song Please Guys!
so true, I never really understood why zet would come back and lose his weapon
They should isolate players and spectators, just like they do in starcraft, so that such bullshit doesnt happen and so the players really get what they work for, aka that ninja defuse
Spawn vs lunatichai?
now Delpan's 1hpclutch on DH Summer should be in here :P
I knew Moto's 1v4 would be #1.
Moto and Walle was only one who worth to be in this video .., other guys are regular situations and regular shots.
@austintownley It would be #1, because the clutch was fucking amazing. Simple as that. After all, it is "Top 10 clutches in CS history". Not "Top 10 clutches that changed the teams/players that lost the round just because of that clutch, in CS History".
2:55
Godness quality
Figured moto would be #1 lol.
HeatoN vs 4k??? where is it?
What's the song at number #2? I have to know! It's fucking beast
sk heaton clutch on aztec??
he is right, on 1.6 and Source the movespeed is 250 units/sec on pistols and knife. scout had 260 units/s and the nades had 240 units/second.
don't believe in the voting system.
2019 and cs1.6 still the best game ever!~...,,
O.o first time I see him spawn kill
yeah...
watch the movie Clutch and clutch 2, that has some good clutches
spawns ninja defuse is where? even though it was not successfull, i think it should be here :)
Come on now. Heaton v 4 Kings @ aztec should easily be near or even at the top here.
Wasn't 1vx
@Th3hUnT3R1
Yea but it also helped break up one of the greatest teams of all time. I cant think of a more important round than that.
:( i don't think Gotfrag is coming back, hopefully you have what you need
HeatoN's 1vs5 on 4K nowhere to be found... weird
And of course americans put 3 american players on top... Nice vid, but awful top. Just deal with it America, Eastern Europe rekts you at this game :) (I'm french).
well not really im from sweden and since they count in what tournament and matter of importance this is a great list
***** considering your from argentina i can already confirm you are dog shit at cs and should shut your fucking mouth. The only reason you can play americans and get a few frags is your 120 plus ping. So ya go fuck yourself
rofl let me hear about an argentina team that has ever won a major tournament.
the best players of cs don't even play cs they're too good and it wud be broken
*best american
I Think He Do It in walle clutch 1vs5 da best commentary
@SuperGuitar20 It was an Awesome fail by PGS, by not looking the Bomb 2 , all of them where on b1 while Walle went to b2
fucking incredible WALLE !
Lol the last one
If ur gonna use the clip with my voice you should give me a credit and Tosspot as well.
@qewi1 vafan säger du moron då?
Yeah of course, Dreamhack the biggest lan in the world is smaller and less prestigious.
OMG! I don't know that the narrator was Vietnamese ^^
GO is the new 1.6, dude. I know what BHOP is, so don't tell me. Your comment is downvoted hard. Maybe that means that you are wrong? :>
Figured Moto box would be #1 :D
Also... Moooooooon
#3 бывает почти на каждом 2-3 миксе... ничего удивительного..))
There are so many other great (, important) clutches. Bummer that you were basically concentrating on American players.
Rival actually had way better showings consistently than coL and 3D - just not the same following.
1:02 full hd
great 1.6 content but the ranking is a bit weird for me. How is a single wallbang kill more awesome then a 1v5 in 10 seconds?
the shot was impossible, it was instrumental in a huge 13-11 upset from a team with no international results over a top 3 team in the world in the biggest tournament in the world. That makes it more "clutch" than rounds that were crazy but were from people who were already expected to be top players on top teams, and especially those from top players on top teams where they still lost the match
OMG..!! WALLE BEST ACE EVER.. ON HISTORY OF CS OMGOOSH..!!
the moto box =)
@nemesisniN Just because there happens to be 3 american clutches doesnt mean he's favoring them, it's just his opinion. and just because you say you don't mean to offend anyone, doesn't mean it isnt offensive either. your original comment had offensive written all over it. you could have at least voiced your opinions correctly without that petty sarcasm "what a shock" or "pathetic." in other words, stop worrying about "favoritism" and just enjoy the vid. if it bothers u so much, make ur own vid.
nice movie otherwise tho good to hear Alex again! oh and #3 is BS.
The bias is strong with this one.
Has he ever seen neo frag films? I think radher no....
delpan 1 hp magic?
Walle's ace is the best!He deserves 1st place.
Where's SpawN?
Hey, try and reduce music or no one's gonna understand what you're saying.
@austintownley Sir, if you base your criteria on inherent impact, u wouldn't have any US team/players on that top10. It's just naive. Following your criteria, why would Tr1p's 1vs2 semi final's clutch be put higher then walle's 1vs5? Lost it 3:16? It was momentum shifting well defended by PGS who just started writing their 2 year's dominance. And because walle made it against PGS at that time was fuckn amazing.
BTW. Where is Neo's 1v3 clutch vs mtw @ESWC? Where is Tentpole 1v5 vs mibr?
Having walle in 4th place made this whole list invalid. Best ace/clutch in cs history and it was against one of the best teams at the time.
@JonteIRL kaxar? du som var dum nog att fråga var heatons runda mot 4k var.
